That's weird too, because almost everyone else who I've seen test their rx8s, had lower compression in the front rotor...

A good how to remove engine and rebuild,different tips than whats out there...would be great....I have a 2005 that needs rebuilding

How much does it cost to rebuild this rotary engine?
It really depends on who you are paying to do the job. Varies by region, as there are not many largely reputable builders for rotaries compared to conventional piston engines.
To do the job properly requires more skill than parts.
We typically refer Texans to Maple Racing out of Houston Texas.

Hey I’m trying to fix my Mazda rx8 it’s been sitting in my front yard for 3 years doing nothing lol . I gave it a jump and it will just turn over while still connected to my other car. Than after taking the cables off the car I tried to turn it on again and nothing not even the lights will turn on. So I took the battery to advance auto parts to get a full charge they told me the battery was good and holds a charge so I put it back in the Mazda and tried to start it again and nothing. So than I gave the car another jump and when the car was still connected to the jumper cables it made a “tick tick tick” sound idk what is wrong with it but I need help, could it be the battery or could it be something else like the starter or alternator? NEED HELP Lol
Darion here, sounds like you have loose battery terminals or the battery is actually not good and advance auto parts was wrong about the battery being good. Get a voltmeter and put it on the battery and see how much voltage the battery is putting out, anything under 11.5 volts will not be able to turn the engine over. Hope this helps!
You could also try pulling the spark plugs out and putting some ATF in the spark plug holes to lubricate and clean the inside of the engine and break some of the gunk loose that could be causing the engine to not make very good compression. Hope this helps!
