When my driver side light failed from the same issue, I simply cut the ground wire at the connector, and wired the harness directly to the big plate inside the assembly that the melted pin connected to. I used a larger gauge wire to eliminate any resistance issue or risk of melting again down the road.

so frustrated my only last for about a month. spend a lot money keep buying that plate and the connector.
