I know it is hard to give good advice before any practice session. But wich option would you currently prefer for my low budget Team 2: Option 1: NOR 2x + SAI + ALB (instead of ZHO) Option 2: LEC 2x + SAI + ZHO Option 3: NOR 2x + RUS + ZHO Option 4: PIA 2x + SAI + ZHO Option 5: LEC 2x + PIA + ALB (with a -10 for a third transfer)

Thanks so much for all your hard work creating top quality content this year Rob! My highlights this year were Jeddah (RED FER, 2x PER) and Monza (triple MCL) but to be honest, there weren’t many highlights this year. Bad weekends were Monaco (HUL, MAG and RED), Canada (2x LEC and FER) and Austria (2x NOR and MCL) This weekend, I have a 50 point league in front of a friend in my mini league who will likely run MCL FER LEC RUS. I will probably run the same but RUS out for SAI or NOR.

However, starting the season with the correct team build (a team with the FER + RBR constructor or at least FER + MER) and/or correcting a suboptimal team build immediately in the second race might have been even more important then DNF-luck.

I actually think, that DNFs where clearly the most pivotal differentiators. All my teams are ranked 1318, 1417 and 1187 in the global league. I applied Limitless in Miami with Team 1, in Austria with Team 2 and in China with Team 3. I also wasted my Final Fix with Team 1 & 2 in Spa. Yet all three teams are pretty close to each other and placed reasonably well. I have however dropped probably around 1000 positions with Team 1 (that was within the Top 500 once) as I was hit with several DNFs the last 5 races or so. My Team 1 was well ahead of my Team 2 despite applying limitless in Miami vs. in China.

great review, rob! it's been a wild season! after the Spanish GP i was 38 in the world ... then it seemed i couldn't stop picking DNF drivers and so the gradual decline started with -20 after -20. if i have one wish for next year it's a change to that rule. 😡 looking forward to all your new content next year!

I've enjoyed watching your videos this season, looking forward to seeing new graphics!... On the subject of catching so many DNFs, I've been looking at how global #1 has done. I've counted 9 DNF/DQ through the season! 9!! That must have really helped their budget too.

Considering I have the limitless chip still available, what team would be optimal for it? Top 5 drivers or throw some finesse in (for example Russell over Hamilton or something like that)?

For this weekend I am contemplating: 1. NOR + LEC vs. NOR + PIA (maybe even NOR + HAM) for my first team. 2. LEC + SAI vs. PIA + SAI vs. NOR + RUS for my second team with lower budget. Which combinations would you currently prefer (especially for my second team)?

I just couldn’t bring myself to trust Merc - and was further pushed away from them through F1s simulations (that somehow seem to be off way to often). But just bringing in HAM instead of LEC would have been a masterstroke!

Without the Fastest Lap the average of NOR is 26 points over the last four completed races versus PIA average of 24. Considering PIA was under team orders to give up the lead twice ( I think ) suggests that NOR and PIA are about the same in points production. Maybe, PIA will be more motivated now that he can actually race for a win. I hope so. I need the point of difference.

Was Ocon attempting a fastest lap given he put on soft tires near the end of the race?

Well Mercedes just cried wolf ( or Wolff) too many times this year, so we can’t really blame ourselves too much. Glad you had an amazing weekend Rob!

My confidence in strategy is a bit ragged after Vegas given that Ferrari were supposed to cruise it and Mercedes were supposed to struggle. Now everyone's saying that McLaren will be lights out in Quatar - will they? Really? Promise? 😂 Also, I hope everyone's having a real good moan about the negative DNF points in the questionnaire. I've had 6 DNFs in the last 7 starts! I can't stop picking them!! I can only dream of the points I might have if I had better luck recently. 😆

Welcome back Rob! At least you kept Zhou lol. Fair point about DOTD. Unless you have a massive budget, I still wouldn't bring VER in. Personally torn between Triple FER and LEC/PIA, unless NOR impresses in Practice. Have fun in Vegas! 🎉

By the way I recommend you to play the 3X in Vegas and go differential 3 times Ferrari plus good C tiers. If it works out you can win tickets for the Vegas GP next year. If you finish 18 k or 12k or whatever makes no difference at this stage! 😊

Oh when I heard all you content guys had a league only a few weeks ago I mentioned on Twitter how I would love to see some kind of colllab from you all about the season. I think all of "us out here" would love that and I look forward to seeing what that is. Congrats on the XM- Sirius studio for the Fan Amp show. What a weekend you guys will have. I have a feeling that Charles will win this race and I also think the team orders at MCL are already over. Maybe they hampered Oscar's mentality a bit over the last few weeks...or dare I think that perhaps Mark Webber suggested that it might be best for Oscar's future if he was in a grid position to potentially help Norris' championship. It wouldn't surprise me. MCL we pretty bad here last year, so lets see anyway.

Should I use my No cap chip this week?

I hope McLaren will come back this week over Ferrari. I truly believe Ferrari has had a good 2 weeks is cause of Piastri not being great and he’ll have the upgrades this week. Also Max stalling Lando and letting by the Ferraris has helped them. Hope with grid penalty to Max, Lando can fight clean against the Ferraris and have some help from Oscar

Great insight as always. I have Max from last race and deciding if to keep? Big differential and good in the rain. My combos are : Max / Bottas or Norris / Hulk or Sainz / KMag.. Decisions decisions..... Any thoughts? I have Le C already and hes not moving from my team. If i do keep Max then he gets the 2x.

Great video Rob. In terms of Zhou, given the weather forecast and likelihood of DNFs, I think he's a good bet, simply because he can't finish lower than 20th and get's a few overtakes (mostly on Bottas) on the first few laps. That said, all depends on budget of course. I kept my team for Mexico (NOR (x2), SAI, COL, BOT, ZHO, MCL, FER) saving a transfer. Considering triple Ferrari (depending on Practice), which would then leave me room to sacrifice ZHO, but only up to LAW. Just a little short on HUL. Good luck for the weekend everyone.
