Great video, I think that DOTD point is really important. If VER qualifies on pole and finishes there, that is 25 x 2 = 50 race points. If NOR/PIA/LEC/SAI qualifies in P2 and stays there, that is (18 points for position + 10 points for DOTD) x 2 = 56 race points. It doesn't seem worth leaving the cash in the bank to have the option to final fix all the way up to VER, getting DOTD seems much more important. My plan is to make sure that if I don't run VER/NOR, I have space to final fix to the top qualifier out of the McLarens and Ferraris. That excludes LEC - PIA teams, where most people will probably just have to pray. There seem to be a bunch of fantasy options, Imola really started the deadline chaos with such a close battle between Red Bull, McLaren and Ferrari! I have LEC - TSU - RIC - MAG - HUL - RBR - FER and 3 free transfers. I have 5 different main teams I am considering. Team 1 (3/3 free transfers) 2x VER - TSU - RIC - HUL - BOT - RBR - FER Team 2 (2/3 free transfers) 2x NOR - TSU - RIC - MAG - HUL - MCL - FER Team 3 (1/3 free transfers, has budget room to final fix LEC to NOR) 2x LEC - TSU - RIC - HUL - ZHO - RBR - FER Team 4 (-10) 2x VER - HUL - GAS - BOT - SAR - RBR - FER Team 5 (-10) 2x LEC - PIA - HUL - BOT - SAR - MCL - FER Argh, a ton of teams! If I had to decide right now it would probably be Team 1, but I can definitely see practice swinging my preference to Team 2 or 3, or even 4 or 5! One last thing, with your team, I actually like the Leclerc - Piastri lineup! Both have a high chance of DOTD, and then maybe you could wildcard to VER - MCL - FER with a strong midfield for Canada?
I’d be very surprised if I don’t use wildcard in the next couple weeks to get back some Red Bull. Personally I think you’ve got your strategy all figured out though - nice work!

I was thinking the same thing. With low overtakes and qualifying being sooo important. Seems like the perfect opportunity to gain a lot of points on teams with 3 C class drivers. Fantasy tools discord does seem to disagree with me though.
Monaco is probably one of the lower priority races to use it imo. If any limitless drivers bungle their qualifying, they have almost no chance to get back into the fight with overtakes
I think you could make an argument for it because of how challenging the track is, but if it's a dry race and there will be some difficulty for passing, it could be a pretty boring race!
Definitely, I think NOR is only a good fantasy asset now if he is battling VER for pole and the win. He needs to be keep churning out those DOTDs, and I think he is still viable if he can consistently keep doing that, but I'm not sure if he will manage to...

My thinking around the final fix was maybe to keep SAI and PIA (for example) and then leave enough budget so that I had flexibility to swap LEC or NOR in for either of them depending on how they all perform in quali. Re setting up for Canada ... do you know if anyone has done the sums to work out whether RED/FER/VER/some low budget driver is a better meta than MCL/FER/LEC/SAI (or 2 other 'top' drivers that are almost certain to finish top 5)? I really like F1F tools for a guiding hand on points projections, but it is by no means 100% accurate. If it was, my team would have been the highest scoring one last week (as my selections were mostly based on the sims)! But I agree with your approach fully for final fix, so really crossing my fingers that the drivers I pick have a good quali!

Yeah that's true, it seems like an even tradeoff for points. I think the 1M value gain for DOTD could give LEC - PIA teams the edge, but for those teams to work, it would have to assume RBR struggle just as much as they did in Imola this time out, maybe even more.

I might be a fool for falling for the Ferrari hype again, but they seem to have good downforce and pace in the slow-speed corners. So back to Red Bull, Ferrari, McLaren pecking order?

Norris being a tier A driver now has less upside than Lec or Sai for budget gains.
