    Ferrari is going to be terrible in Silverstone. I think Haas has a good shot for p8 at least and McLaren and Red Bull will be wayy ahead of the competition. I might go for Sergio Perez.

    Are you sticking with the Kick/Sauber boys? They just don’t have the speed to even get overtakes. I’ve had Bottas & keep seeing minus $.

    • @glenngrant3469
      @glenngrant3469 3 месяца назад +3

      i see minus $ for most of the budget drivers tbh. BOT has averaged over 5 points per race over the last 6 races so i'm happy to take that if it means a 0.1M drop in budget given that most other low cost drivers are also taking similar price drops.

      Fair point, Joe. It's difficult to part from them if I want two of PIA/HAM/NOR, even though I agree they are dropping non-stop at the moment. May just have to bite the bullet for a couple more races

    my 2 cents for what it is worth ( im currently 520th globally) - sauber are dead wood now, they arent getting many overtakes, them and sargeant should be after thoughts , only use them if youre squeezing in a b or another a tier asset.
    Regarding constructors, i think you need at least merc in there for budget increases, they will be best of the rest. If anything run merc and ferrari with 2 b tiers or Norris + piastri imo ( if you can afford it). that way you cover all the top 6/7 with max the exception.

    • @f1fantasyhub
      @f1fantasyhub  3 месяца назад +2

      I agree Sauber are rubbish. It's hard to enable a double B driver lineup without them based on my budget though. Mercedes are high on my shopping list this weekend

    I don't really understand why you feel the need to change. I had the same team as you, and yes while it sucked in Austria, with max wins and fast pit stops, the Austria team remains really strong. We just got super unlucky with the Lando DNF

    • @f1fantasyhub
      @f1fantasyhub  3 месяца назад +1

      My point of view on that stems from the fact that the teams with the highest points projections entering Spain and Canada were lineups that had two B Tier drivers, so I am leaning towards something like that moving forward. Mercedes is also the best B Tier constructor so MCL/RED won't provide as much budget gain. I think Red Bull will still be excellent on pit stops, but Perez struggling kind of negates that to me

    • @michaelsela5451
      @michaelsela5451 3 месяца назад

      @@f1fantasyhub getting out of this team will require a wildcard and/or too many transfers. F1 fantasy tools has the 2 tier B drivers neck and neck with RED/MCL and NOR on a 118M budget. constructors from what I Can tell have typically provided very marginal gains in budget compared to drivers. Taking 2 Tier B drivers means you're sacrificing gains from your NOR and 4 Tier C drivers as the tier C drivers gain more budget than tier A, so that balances itself out anyway if you do that. If RBR is excellent on pit stops and perez just scrapes by on 7th/8th, we still come out ahead of the two Tier A driver lineup. My other issue with two tier A drivers is that it's much less predictable knowing who the best Tier A drivers will be vs knowing Norris will likely be the second place along with Max. Where as RUS/HAM/PIA/SAI are all unpredictable at he moment in terms of who follows them, it could be anyone at any point, making that lineup less predictable. Case in point: Everyone kept raving about Hamilton as a great second tier a driver. IF things had gone without an accident in Austria, he would have had a 6th place finish. That's a fairly dissapointing result for a second A tier driver in a lineup.

    Rus vs Ham? Merc developing the car more towards Rus’ preference hey? (Makes sense with Ham leaving in 25) Would you agree with that. Last year all things being equal, Ham out scored and outperformed Rus all year. This year is completely different and although I think Ham is the better driver and more experienced..I think Rus would be the play for the 2nd tier B driver to Nor. Then Pia once we can afford him. Merc>Fer since Monaco even considering Lec’s bad luck.

    • @f1fantasyhub
      @f1fantasyhub  3 месяца назад +1

      I definitely agree with that assessment. I think Hamilton has been the better driver in F1 Fantasy lately, but I do suspect the tide will be turning in Russell's favour in the second half of the season

    I didn’t switch to Gasly in Barcelona, and I’ve come to regret it. I’ve run the two McLaren drivers, with Mercedes and Ferrari as the constructors - it gives me confidence since a potential DNF of one of these drivers doesn’t ruin my score much, and if all goes to plan, I get points from all the proper Tier B drivers. I got 247 in Austria, with Albon, Hulk, and Zhou. Thinking about one transfer for Silverstone: Albon for one of the drivers in the 10-10.4 range. Probably Yuki, who was out of my team for the first time in Austria (LL not included). Hopefully the budget gains help me get Zhou out of my team before the summer break - I like him as a driver, but the Sauber just isn’t it this year.

    Austria was a kick in the teeth, huh Rob? 😆 The only saving grace was that most other folks had a combination of Lando and/or Max as well so the pain was pretty evenly spread.
    I really like your MER/FER NOR/RUS build (at 14.50). FWIW that's what I'd be looking to run with your budget and I'll be running something very similar this weekend. Wishing us both good luck! 😁

    Thoughts on going from Nor,Pia,Zho,Sarg,Gasly,Ferr,Merc to Nor,Alb,Zho,Mag,Gasly,Merc,RedBull/McL this would be a minus 10.
    Then transfer in McLaren/Red Bull in for Mercedes the following week.

    lucked into 222 points with VER, MAG, HUL, TSU, ZHO, FER, MCL. half my mini league played their limitless chip for around ~260 points. so a very lucky weekend all around 😅

    i gotta say - your point on being hesitant on taking a budget constructor to go for the extra drs chip helped me to stay away from that in Austria, with the pair obviously being Lando/Max that would flop terribly so i dodged a big bullet there. a massive thanks Rob! ❤️

    Took Ferrari out for McLaren 🤦 however that was the right decision on paper so no real argument there. Frustrating that I held Ferrari the previous 2 weeks though when I should have spent the minus 10 to get rid.
    Then I went Lewis over piastri 😅 not really sure what the thought process was with that one to be honest 😂 suggestion from practice was Merc were the fastest in the long runs and thought piastri was more likely to drop back and Lewis move forward from the sprint qualifying. Still did ok points wise. Small red arrow down to 2.3k. Need a big win at Silverstone as my choices have cost me upwards of 200 points since I had triple Ferrari at Monaco.

    • @f1fantasyhub

    I had the same team as you but replace Bottas with Yuki. I feel you.. I was top 300 at Monaco and then I had the Ferrari failure then took Oscar and Russell out to get Norris and change Merc for Red Bull. What a mistake.

  • @ForzaFerrari-z8l
    @ForzaFerrari-z8l 3 месяца назад +1

    I used the wildcard to get off a triple FER lineup to almost the exact same team as you have on screen, except TSU over GAS. The last few races have been disgusting for my fantasy to be honest. From HUL, MAG and RBR in Monaco, to 2x LEC and FER in Canada, to 2x NOR, RBR and MCL in Austria. I wasn’t even happy with my season so far before that.
    So, I’m thinking I’ll drop MCL to MER in Silverstone, hopefully it’s a worthy sacrifice to upgrade BOT/ZHO to MAG/GAS/OCO.

    • @ForzaFerrari-z8l
      @ForzaFerrari-z8l 3 месяца назад +1

      Oh, and btw, my reasons for sticking with a single A driver lineup include
      - I don’t have my wildcard
      - I don’t quite have enough in my budget to comfortably afford a double B lineup (115.3M)
      - The next few races are high in overtakes and DNFs, so I think the better C-tier drivers are likely to rise 0.5M

    • @ForzaFerrari-z8l
      @ForzaFerrari-z8l 3 месяца назад +1

      And one more thing, I think RBR as a fantasy asset is viable if VER is a heavy favourite to win, but not if he’s not. I think PER is driving in no-man’s land, where he will always be behind the top field but always ahead of the midfield, so almost guaranteed P7/P8 from PER.

    • @f1fantasyhub
      @f1fantasyhub  3 месяца назад

      @@ForzaFerrari-z8l I think if you are on a lower budget, Norris and two premium constructors with a well-balanced supporting cast is the way to go. And yes fully agree with your point on Red Bull - Perez looks way off the pace, which partly negates their pit stop advantages. I also think he is the most likely driver in the top 8 to not make it into Q3, which doesn't help the constructor's teamwork points

    Thoughts on Sargent and Gasly vs Bottas and Albon

    • @f1fantasyhub

    Yeah I kinda feel like a big race for Oscar is on the horizon and I don’t want to miss out on it. The Lando +10 points is almost ruining the game. I would love for us to be able to pick between all those top guys without knowing we are losing 10 points. However: maybe one of the Merc Brits will have a showstopper this weekend. Let’s see. ( or a Ferrari comeback 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻) they are bringing a small upgrade

      Ferrari has never been good in Silverstone except for 2022 because Max was out of position. McLaren and Red bull should have a bigger lead than the competition. Merc would be 3rd and the outlier could be Williams scoring some decent points.
