      Here is the best way to evaluate a driver’s value. Ask yourself, what other teams are falling over themselves to hire said driver? Williams could have turned out so differently had they made John Williams TP. He had gone to F2 and built a winning team from scratch without help from Williams. He was set to take over but Toto, who was an influential minority investor at that point, blocked his appointment and insisted on Claire. No idea what his agenda was. The only reason I could see him not wanting to leave PREMA is A. The sentimental attachment, and B. The unstoppable success they always achieve year in year out, they entered the WEC back in 2022 and won both the teams and drivers titles in the European Le Mans Series… in their debut season, dipped from the series after winning it and are planning an Indycar team for 2025. Why would Sauber want to sign Bearman? They for one don't have any close ties to Ferrari anymore so they won't sign Bearman unless he leaves the Ferrari Academy which he probably won't do and secondly it would immediately kill the Sauber Academy. If you don't want to give your academy driver and F2 winner which is still very young a seat, you can close your academy. Especially because the Sauber Academy isn't that big / doesn't have the same funds as the ones from the top teams so having the F2 champion in your ranks is a huge win. If they don't sign drivers for the Audi project already, it will be Hulk and Bottas or Pourchaire and Bottas for 2025. Anything else doesn't really make sense as Hulk is not really an upgrade over Bottas and really wasn't that great in the second half of last season anyway. Also Bottas' experience is more interesting for a team than Hulk's.

    • @martinlinke2084
      @martinlinke2084 11 месяцев назад

      Well why did hulk get worse? Haas did exacttly one big Upgrade which was totally shite, while everyone Else on the grid got better. Also hulk is german, so the german Brand Audi would for sure live to have a german driver in their squad. And based on potential and results this season, hulk would be a massive Upgrade over bottas

    • @SirZuri

      @@martinlinke2084 He was clearly better than Magnussen in the first half of the season, especially in Quali. After the summer break Hulk wasn't really that much faster anymore and hadn't really any weekend where he could show anything special. Magnussen at least scored a point once after the break. Yes the Haas upgrade was shit but Hulk also didn't really drive it which was also kinda weird especially because the upgrade was meant to pave the way for the 2024 car. And how exactly was Hulk so much better than Bottas? Hulkenberg had one outstanding race weekend in Austria and gets praised because of it as if his whole season was amazing. Both drivers had bad cars in the end and made the best out of it by being at least better than their teammate. Again, pretty equal for me but i'd choose Bottas over Hulk because of experience in top teams and for the fact that he will be with the team for three years at that point and has probably a lot of insights.

Feel like Carlos knows that he won't ever been the "number 1" driver over Charles, and he would prefer to place his trust into Red Bull over Ferrari. And if Red Bull is able to tell him Max's timetable and that would make him a number 1 driver within 2 or 3 years, why would you?

In no way do I think this will happen, not sure if Bottas would even take that chance if offered. But I know a part of him wants to win a couple more races. He'd do a better job than Perez, that's for sure. (VB 100% Q3 rate with Mercedes, SP 79% Q3 rate with Red Bull)

    People severely underestimate how dog shit that Sauber was last year. They had 3 different races where Valtteri's pace dropped out of nowhere and still to this day they don't have an answer as to why it happened. The only thing we've seen of Bottas in a decent car was the first half of 2022 and he killed it. He was almost always leading the midfield. Recency bias is crazy in F1. That man didn't miss Q3 in 5 years at Mercedes, even in 2017 and 2018 when Ferrari had the faster car on average. Bottas is criminally underrated, anyone worth their word can see that.

    Honestly, Haas should get either Drugovich or Gabriel Bortoleto (if he does well i F2) to the team because of Oakberry and it could really help with Brazilian sponsorship money and marketing (with other brazilian brands joining in)

    • @nandarock19
      @nandarock19 11 месяцев назад

      As a Brazilian, I have to desagree with you. Haas already have one Brazilian driver and they have never gave a chance to Pietro Fittipaldi, who is coming to Indy this year 'cause he needs and wants to drive somewhere else (wich is almost every driver wants to do: drive). If Haas bring Drugovich and Bortoletto to the team, they will probably have their careers to an and soon, 'cause in my opinion, Haas will not get better untill Geene Haas sells the team (for Andretti, for exemple) or put some more of his own money into the team. And also, Brazilian money doesn't value as much as some people may think, just compare our Real with Euro or Pounds for exemple. So our sponsors don't value so much right now for the teams and the sponsors themselves don't have this huge amount of money to invest in our drivers, unfortunally. 😢
      So, Drugovich, for now, I think is better for him to stay at Aston Martin, even if he needs to wait a little more if no other team wants to hire him next year. And Bortoletto is already part of the MacLaren Academy, so I think he will have a main seat in the team in the next few years.

    • @walover165

He was pretty consistent in his years in F2 and deserved his F2 title. And I totally agree with you about what Haas have made with Mick's career. I trully wish him an excelent year at WEC with Alpine and, who knows, maybe in the future he comes back to F1 again and on top! 🤗

    The question is what is Haas gonna be without Steiner who made his team known via Drive to Survive and who got sponsors to ensure the team's existence, because Gene Haas made it clear that he is not gonna invest a whole lot more. For me Steiner never seemed very professional in his conduct, but he really did make a lot happen and was basically the heart of the team.
    The thing with Toto is, he basically *is* Mercedes F1. He owns a third of it, he was the team principal when all the success was happening, he is the head of the operation, he has that big trusting relationship with both of his drivers, I don't think replacing him would do the team any good. Bringing Vowles back as team principal would be great, but I can't see a world in where that happens anytime soon.
    I also don't think Toto would be content with suddenly not being the team principal anymore and he would probably wanna have a say in everything since it's what he has been doing for over a decade now. After a decade of eating the full cake you will never be satisfied with only eating half of it all of a sudden, that's not how life works. Imagine Toto judging every tiny move Vowles makes, it would be very difficult.

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Josh Revel was also thinking along the same lines for Aston Martin, Lance, and the WEC program.
    To me, Lance just doesn't seem hungry enough to WANT to have those better performances as of late, and Lawrence ain't stupid. I think Lance's petulance in interviews from the back half of 2023 is a sign that he's getting a bit of heat for his lack of results from closer to home...
    If any moves do happen with Lance, they'll likely happen when the facilities are improved enough to be a valuable asset, Lawrence will likely make a business decision and sell up, likely to pour more resources into a WEC campaign with his son in the lineup.
    I'm not fully sold on it being at the end of 2024, just seems too soon. Then again, selling off to new owners right before 2026 regs probably DOES make 2024 the year...

    When they win year after year Toto is an absolute genius who can perfectly bridge the gap between owner and principle. They become the most dominant team of all time with him at the helm and yet after two bad seasons ( still won the constructors mind and was robbed for the drivers) everyone starts calling for his head as principle whilst completely ignoring all the years that it worked. The law of averages still still favours him, and would do if he lost the next five seasons 😂

    What I would change (improve) in Ferrari: the Ferrari Driver Academy. They've had some questionable decisions since Charles was promoted to Sauber in 2018. They pushed Mick and Gio too much between 2019-2021 and in those years, drivers like Ilott and Shwartzman got left out of contemption for the F1 seat at Haas and Alfa Romeo when they clearly deserved a shot.
    Also, since 2021, Shwartzman has barely raced (now will compete with Ferrari in WEC) and it's not a realistic choice for the future. Right now in the academy, the star is clearly Bearman but if he fails next year, then there are not really many "future WDC" in the FDA. Dino Beganovic is not F1 future WDC, neither is Rafael Camara, Arthur Leclerc (now fired), James Wharton (fired too), Maya Weug, Aurelia Nobels...
