Hey everyone, here's a bit of a different video than my usual stuff. If you say my retro game room tour video from 2023 (linked below), you'll know I put a lot of time into getting that space to be how it was. Well, recently I moved and had to setup a new space with MANY more restrictions, but it ended up being for the better. Thanks for watching :) 2023 Game room tour video: ruclips.net/video/...

Is the Original Ice Climber Game Worth Playing in Today?
I try recapture that feeling I got as a kid with gaming. On my Megadrive, Ps2, Dreamcast. My Dad used to be a Lorry driver when I was a kid and every so often he would randomly bring me home a game. I distinctly remember one time he bought me Shaq-fu for my Sega mega drive. I had absolutely no clue this Shaq guy was a real basketball player being from Nothern Ireland. I remember being in absolute awe of all the cool looking characters and I can still picture some of them and their theme music. It wasn't until years later I saw that people mock that game, is known as one of the worst games. Which baffled me. But I think it's because now, we have so much variety it's overwhelming. Back when I was a kid, I had whatever came with the console or if I was lucky the odd game here and there as a present and I didn't care what it was, I found enjoyment in it. I got myself a ps2 again a few years ago and a 720p upscaler, but more recently I've been playing my bros 360 which he left here when he moved out. Got Hitman Absolution for £1.50, known by most as the worst Hitman game. I stuck it on easy, played through it like John Wick, had a blast. Finished it to the credits. Started playing Mafia 2 tonight. Was just in fricking awe of the Snowy city of New York in the 50s, the cars, the clothes, just walked about for ages. My point is, I think rather counter intuitively, if you go into a game with no expectations. I think it's a more enjoyable experience. I actually really like how xbox live used to give 2 free games a Month and they were just random games you might not ever think of playing. Honestly I would probably sign up to a subscription service which posted me two random 360 games a month to play through. It would probably capture that feeling again that I had playing Shaq-fu. Apologies for the lengthy text. Appreciate if you read it. Thanks Kris.
I still haven’t made it very far collecting-wise, but my goal is to just get the games and systems that I want, rather than buying and hoarding everything I see. It’s easier on your wallet (most of the time) and it makes each purchase feel much more meaningful.
Nahh
Will it work with the x series? Like cross compatible stuff?
Not sure! Someone else said it’s on game pass but I’m not 100% certain
@JohnGamesOfficial I got a 360 but I don't wanna switch xboxs everytime
@@WyattM117 understandable 😅
If you like fear and want a laugh. Look up p.a.n.i.c.s people acting normally in crazy ass situations
Been playing fear 3 and 2 lately
Which is your fav?
Into the Radius is also a very good horror shooter :)
Haven’t heard of it, I’ll have to check it out!
Is a VR title? if So i might have to check it out
@@JohnGamesOfficial Best VR horror shooter thats out there, Im on my second play through and I cranked up the difficulty to max, it kicks my ass even more, but I still love it
Is it cross gen?
Someone else in the comments said it’s on game pass! Unsure if it’s backwards compatible to Xbox one
Dawg xbox 360 bro. 😂😂 you must be kidding bro😂😂😂😂
Dawg bro 😂😂 you talk like a 11 year old girl bro 😂😂😂😂
@@JohnGamesOfficial yuh yuh ight 😂
I’m gonna try this out! I’ve been looking for a single shooter to play. I’ll be playing it on PC, game pass has it for free at the moment
Totally worth it!!
I played it didn't like it the controls were so infuriating
Yeah I get this, it’s age def shows nowadays
@@JohnGamesOfficial I would have enjoyed it but I don't like invertered controls😅
@@anascarlett3282 was there not an option to play without inverted? Can’t remember, I played through this like 6 months ago
If you're on PC, you can change the graphics/controls to whatever you like. It's probably only worth playin on PC nowadays anyway. Either PC for like $10 on steam or emulator
@@WonderBreadTE I can't afford pc I'm broke 😔 but if I ever get the chance I'll give it another go
Fear one is by far my favorite horror shooting of all time, fear 2 and 3 are trash
I thought fear two was like •fine• but 3 really was disappointing. Visually looked good but dookie story
@@JohnGamesOfficial fear 2 biggest downfall was making it into a action game and not an horror shooter. Felt like any other fps and had no flavor like the first one did
hats becuse 2 and 3 were a different company Fear 1 --> Fear Extraction Point --> Fear Persues Mandate are Monolith Productions are the only good ones
Didn’t even mention the best part that being the ai. The enemy ai in this game is very fun to play against because they are very responsive to the player.
Oh good point - totally true!
Thank you so much my friend omg I was panicking I spent 40 dollars on the punisher 😂 and another 100 on other og xbox games 😂
Thank you for the video! You've made a lot of good points about this subject. I think it's definitely important for people to develop their own collecting styles and to set specific boundaries as well if they want to. Nowadays, I only buy games that I will open and play either right when I get home or after it finishes downloading from Steam. I essentially no longer have a backlog.
I may not have been born when the console or game came out, but when I played it, it was the best game I played at that time
Dope!
Big RUclipsrs who cover "hidden gems" are direct market manipulators. Example; Nitrorad's affect on Plok's price.
Interesting, do you think it’s purposeful or something that just happens?
I emulate 90% of games i play. I own a few gems but my collection is small, ones i do own are very special to me. Taking Chrono Trigger out of its box and setting up the SNES isnt exactly complicated (actually i dont even own an SNES), but i still prefer gaming on a cheap handheld device. If my entire collection was lost in a fire id be sad, but it wouldn't effect how i play games very much. Some people take vacations to golf, others spend a lot hunting, i splurge on 30 year old video games i grew up with. What i love most about retro games is almost ANY game can be played for very cheap. I probably spend more than most would on certain games but those are for me. The thought of telling someone else the 'right' way to enjoy a hobby is silly.
Oh god, the Switch case spines are one of the worst ideas Nintendo has ever had. Absolutely ZERO personality and individualism to them. Super unfortunate to have than for such a great console.
That was depressing. Hope you're okay bro.
hell yeah banana blitz getting the recognition it deserves
Your collection of 30 Xbox 360 games isn't any less valid of a collection than someone else's 750 sealed Nintendo Switch games
Absolutely!
Where have you been
Life’s been busy! Slowly working on more content
I disagree and think repros are always valid for games you can no longer buy from the creator. Buying an official pokemon cart second-hand for a ridiculous price doesnt benefit anyone who created nor owns the rights to that game so I dont have any issue buying a cheap repro online for a reasonable price.
This is a great point!
Agree. If something is "fake" But cheap and looks good, it really shouldn't matter
I remember playing this game when I was around like 6 good times
You should give it another go!
@@JohnGamesOfficial if I ever can I will try!
Gameboy super monkey ball had motion controls
Which one?
I’ll never forget super money ball, it was the first game I ever played.
That’s so dope!
I gotta disagree with the last one. Digital storefronts(especially companies like EA) believe buying does not equate to owning. Until we can get these companies to wise up and allow ownership, a digital collection just can't equate to a physical one.
That’s a great point, didn’t quite think of it in that way!
@@JohnGamesOfficial I definitely want digital collections to be of the same caliber, and it's really not the fault of the collectors, but damn, triple A companies are greedy.
I miss old hot topic. back in 2006. When things were more simple, and more myspace. RIP Mitch
Up until like 4 years ago I only got my jeans from hot topic. The end of an era
I understand "game collecting" but if you aren't playing/haven't played it you might as well just have a customized coaster.
modern systems that play old school games , like retron, are better than the original system. having a machine that plays nes snes and famicon games that also has hdmi is a godsend
This is a good one, I personally like playing on OG systems but just as a personal preference but def understand what you’re saying - and the nes snes mashup consoles for hdmi are indeed the best thing since sliced bread
2 I have, 1 I already want and 3 I'm not into. Great video. Well presented and cool choices.
Thanks boss!
@@JohnGamesOfficial More than welcome. Of the 3 I'm not interested in Naughty Bear looks the best but I'm going to pass on it because there's too many games already on my backlog to be able to add it. I decided to choose between Naughty Bear and Fairytale Fights because I know trying to play both will be too much. Fairytale Fights is the one I decided on.
Eventually retro cartridges and hardware will fail and for every year that passes it will become a bigger problem, learning to dump and backup your games will and is important.
What’s your game collecting hot take?
Csgo takes more skill then a call of duty because its like the riches escape from reality as they only play the one their not getting smashed in
bro is getting shade thrown at him in the comments. this was a really enjoyable video
Thanks boss, everyone has an opinion and that’s okay hah
Worst feeling ever is being forced to sell your collection :(
I am huge fan of this game and I enjoyed this video! Here's a few points I want to bring up: -If you're having trouble landing on rails to grind, try a character with a higher grind stat! The grind stat determines how easy you'll stick to a rail to grind. Yoyo and Rhyth have really good grind stats -I personally never had a problem with the skyscraper level. I had much more problems with Sky Dinosauria Zone, mainly with finishing the street challenges and getting the graffiti souls. I found the skyscraper district to have plenty of checkpoints and health cans to almost never die in the level. It can be frustrating to fall into a pit, but you're placed pretty close to where you were usually. All-in-all, your criticisms are totally justified for a new player. Most levels towards the end of a videogame tend to try to challenge the player but I never had much of an issue. I got a little frustrated getting some of the last graffiti souls but after 100% finishing it, I say it's a fantastic game worth playing for old and new gamers.
Buy a Nintendo Game watch Now.
Good video 👍.
Sam b is the goat
I created a sign for my game room it says , “consoles are for playing , not displaying” I don’t just by for the sake of it , I only buy what I want to play
Hah that sign is a great idea
@@JohnGamesOfficialyou have a pretty nice collection mate 👍🏻 keep on gaming
What gaming and collecting mean to me is the end goal I want to achieve. Whether it's comics, DVDs, books, or games, I make a list. For example, with games, I list the titles I really want and set a reasonable number. For instance, I chose 20 games that I really wanted to play as a kid but didn't have the chance to. Then, I go from there. The same applies to comics. I recently completed my collection, aiming for a short box of comics, which now sits next to my reading chair. It took me 2 years to achieve this goal. So, I think it's about having a clear end goal for your collection and games. It's important to remember that there's always a sustainable way to go about it. Whether it's watching game walkthroughs on RUclips, borrowing games from friends, or finding other alternatives, buying isn't the only solution.
This is awesome, dude! 🔥 glad you hit your goal - clearly defined goals are a great way to stay organized in your journey
I went through the same thing with downsizing & it was super refreshing. I’m more than happy with a smaller collection along with my small-decent sized record collection. I feel like having a ton of games became way too overwhelming when I didn’t play 80% of them.
I cannot even update Xbox live without getting an error message!! I’ve tried everything even trying to update with a flash drive and nothing!!
Ugh that’s super frustrating!
Great game We need a new game asap
Recently sold my entire sega collection. I never played them and bought it all out of impulse for collecting when I was younger
my Old days games blokboster movie
i have TMNT Turok and kiby
i try corllet ps4 game and Swich games
whats ur favorite switch game?
I have done the same, definitely have tried to narrow down to just my favorites I grew up with and still play.
