Fox's Abroad
США
Добавлен 2 мар 2022
Yes, there is Foxbody Mustang ownership outside of the USA. We are located in the UK (eg. United Kingdom, England or Great Britain). We regularly get together to help each other work on our cars and participate in various car events. It is quite a different experience being an American, living/working abroad in the UK and owning one of these cars here. Join me for the tech, the friendship, and the foxbody ownership experience of living in England and dealing with the issues this part of the world has to offer. We are not sponsored. We are not trying to get sponsored. We don't go out of our way to purposely do projects for the likes and clicks. We just think what we do is interesting and vaguely entertaining enough that we wish to share and maybe make some new friends along the way.
Post Track Day Fixes on Johns Fox
We get on with some things on Johns car this week. He needs to get it inspected so it needs to get put back together with the parts that he didnt need for our track outing. It's the main reason he trailered his car to the track as it wasn't road legal at the time.

Our Foxbody Track Day at Santa Pod 2024
Просмотров 358День назад
Follow along for our first track outing of 2024. With all of our different build schedules and hang-ups, this weekend was the first time we could get out to the track this season. This outing at Santa Pod Raceway was for the 60th anniversary special put on by several promoters here in the UK. Usually fox bodies are not well represented over here in the UK. They are looked at as plain and cheap ...
Pete's Supercharged Stroker Foxbody Shakes The Earth

We don't care if the cam in your car slaps, chops, or how nasty it sounds. We can barely hear ourselves think after getting Petes car running this evening. I wish the audio could do this video justice, but it's just so loud it was drowning out the mic's. Whew! A big custom HR camshaft. A 402ci stroker Windsor with a Vortech T-1 Supercharger. TFS R heads and huge long tube headers. With Holley E...
Petes Engine is Assembled and Installed
Просмотров 54821 день назад
After a lot of thrash through the July 4th holiday weekend, we managed to assemble and install the engine into the car. Lots of little jobs to do. It's a very unique combination of parts so there are little curve balls being thrown at us around every corner. Please watch our previous video to get the scoop on the initial assembly of this 402ci monster.

John's Crazy 406ci Clevor Engine Build Gets Rolling

In this video I start assembling the bottom end of John's, World Products Man-O-War engine block. For the spec mongers out there it is a 9.2" deck height block that is the same as a 351 Cleveland. The crank is a 4340 Eagle with a 4" stroke. The rods are 6.00" Eagle H-Beam units. The bore is 4.020" which puts it at 406 cubic inches. The pistons are from Ross Racing and they have a -31cc dish. A Fathers Day Rip in the 363 Turbo Notch
Просмотров 507Месяц назад
It has rained every day for 8 days straight. The weather finally breaks so I can get out and do some data logging to start dialing in the tune on the new 363. I wish the road and traffic was better suited, but I got what I could get.

Just bringing you pot date with what's been going on in the shop. Not a lot of single video worthy things, but things none the less. This video is mainly to test out some of my new camera gear, so I'm purposely not putting in a lot of effort in case it turns out lousy. So we'll see how it goes.
Basic Porting and Rebuild for this 2.3L Pinto Head
Просмотров 2942 месяца назад
I volunteered to help my buddy with sprucing up the head on his 1978 2.3L Cobra II Mustang. It had a few issues that we will go over and I see if some basic port work will be worth the effort on this extremely stock engine. If you would like me to go into any more detail or down a particular rabbit hole with this project please leave a like and comment and I'll see what I can do.

Three guys do a first real start of a fresh engine build and we stand around B.S.ing and talking smack. Stifflers Is The Easiest Foxbody Driveshaft Safety Loop To Install EVER!

If the car is already in the air, it takes less than 30 minutes. Super easy. No drilling holes or welding on anything. I honestly couldn't be more pleased. Another quality product from Stifflers. They are not a sponsor, (we have none) but I like touting quality products when I come across one.

There are other components that will start to show their limits when you get unto and exceed those types of numbers. Factors such as the tune and eve...
Halfway Through The 363 Swap

Just a few highlights of the work we have put in so far. Engine swaps done correctly are slow and boring, but they're a few things to talk about so you can keep up to date with what is going on. If you have any additional questions, please feel free to leave a comment.

Can you do one on a 91 Ford f350 7.5?
@@hendricks177 Not sure. I live in England. I doubt you would want to pay shipping across the pond 2x just to find out.
Niceee , going to do same soon 👍🏻👍🏻
Wow, great video I just came across this You're all set up nice little test set. I have a question, maybe you could answer, I have a1987 ford f150 I'm having a no start issue with my truck. All it does is crank. I have Spark, I can hear either fuel tanks. Fuel pump kick in when I turn the Ignition on the only way I get it to start. Is when i spray starting fluid into the intake. She will start, and then stall. Can this be a computer issue? Also, for the fuel pumps I seen your tester had the green light on it. For your fuel pump, I'm just scratching my head. Why this truck won't start not knowing if this could be my issue? Maybe you could help me out. With that question, I would appreciate it, I'm out of New York. You reached me all the way over here with your video lol
@@nickpanhead7209 if you hear the pump prime for 1 sec after the key is turned then it’s not the EEC. Sounds like a fuel delivery issue. Remove a line from the fuel filter and start tracking it down.
@Mike-FoxsAbroad thank you so much for getting back to me, I'm away from my truck now for a few weeks, but I'll definitely check that out. I know fuel filter is clear. I removed it and blew through it with no. Issues? But like you said, maybe it's something further back. Thanks again.I really do appreciate it
I see you are using the stock tach. They are not accurate. I bet a real tach would also help with ET since you will know the real rpms you are at. I bet getting a Tinker 7" screen would help with ET.
@@ford9050 we both have shift lights triggered by the Terminator X. Mine was set at 7k but I was shifting at 6800ish. John’s wasn’t working after we had his dash all ripped apart after the roll cage install. Something to look into.
Im getting ready to install my tkx with rxt twin disk. I have the adjustabke pivot stud. You say set the adjustable stud 3/8" shorter than the stock one and it should be good?
@@RJ-zf7fw that worked for me twice so far using a cast aluminum bellhousing. Make sure to test it before assembling everything in case your parts/application is different.
Yeah man I'm using the cast bellhousing. I'll give it a go. Thanks
How it holding up? I was told you need to open the unit and soak the clutch plates in friction modifier?
He is driving it now and leaving two black lines. It didn't need any disassembly. He installed it using some Royal Purple gear oil as it says it's suitable for limited slip differentials. It is a little groany when warm and turning in a parking lot. He is seeing if it quiets down after more break-in before adding any friction modifier to it. It's not annoying or anything. Just not 100% silent.
Great vid guys!
Looks like some nice runs, look forward to seeing you guys out again soon.

awesome .... Foxbodys forever ........old Man Racing... thats how I feel .. 63 and a bad Hip ..😅😅😅
61 and a slipped disc 😂
Sorted out the starting issue, added another earth strap in the trunk. Tomorrow will be a good test 👍
I had battery problems with my trunk battery location also. It all started when i added a shutoff switch. Worked fine before it. The wire i had from the switch to the battery was aluminum crap wire. Got rid of that small piece of wire and all good again. Also make sure you have good grounds in the back to the battery and from the front to the engine.
Sounds like a Beast Can't wait to hear it rip down the track !!!
Man I thought Michigan roads are bad.
@@86foureyefreak22 yeah, I can’t wait until I move back to the states.
Excellent!
That sounds great man. I own 2 fox body’s myself. One 93 coupe with a man o war 427, trick flow 240cc heads, tko 5 speed. No chit the baddest looking fox I’ve ever had with about 650 hp. The other is a 88 gt with a dart 427, Yates/Bes heads and a poweglide. It’s got about 14-1500 with everything turned up. Badass 4 second car, nitrous of course. I’ve been thinking about doing just what you did with boost to my 93. Glad I saw this video, badass man!
Sounds mean 👌
👍🏻
Car sounds really good Pete, good job guys and good luck 👍
Don't buy from Amp Distributing, there blocker rings are so thin they do nothing. Unfortunately i didn't notice until the first test drive. They would stand behind their product either. Ended up using a syncrotech set in 2nd and a stock set in 1st for clearance. I also bought a T5 transmission 1st 2nd Reverse Gear synchronizer slider and 2nd gear. The trans would pop out of 2nd gear on the downshift sometimes but didn't feel right ever. Finally pulled it apart and found the slider was so loose on the shaft it was causing it not to work correct. Put my old slightly beat up slider in and problem solved.
I haven't done business with them in over 25 years when they did an AF acquaintance dirty. He paid them a lot of money. They didn't do the work promised on his car. He had to get cops and lawyers involved to get his car back. THey've been on my blacklist ever since.
What size are the battery cables? Looking/sounding great 😎
If you’re offering I’ll take it! 😅
😂@SneakyPeteUK well I don't have the cable but, I do have a beefy hydraulic crimp too for up to 50mm2 lol
Thing sounds like a monster!
Try adding a few extra ground straps from the engine to the frame and from each front end frame to rad core to fix the battery issue.

nice .... is it ok to be jealous..??😅🤣
Looking good & looking forward to seeing the first start ❗ Best Wishes & Best of Luck , Thanks for the update 🇺🇸🇵🇷🦊👍
Do you have a link to the coating you put on the terminals afterwards for weatherproofing? And did you do front and back?
@@hu5tle- just search Amazon for “conformal coating”. They have liquid and aerosols. Kinda expensive for what it is. I did top and bottom.
do you have a link to the coating for the terminals? And did you coat both the front and back?
Awesome build!
Noice !
nice engine .....🤤🤤
Wow you know all these years I never knew how much material is in the bore spacing and the deck is beautiful. Seems like this motor was built for boost and hp.
great video, one question i have a 90 f150 and i did swap to manual trans, what do i need to do to the ecu? Thanks, louis
Just Awesome!
That is one impressive block. fe too. Nice. You said Clevor, so what heads are you planning to use? Regards.
Wow it's going to look killer.
Another great video mike. I'm looking forward to seeing this progress further.
Hey dude do have the specs for the head am also putting my engine back together had the head ported I might put some arp studs but I still using the stock bolts because arp studs have come in mail yet
How do you properly remove the coating on the J-port? I had to replace my old ECU and the replacement never had a chip installed so the port still has that coating. Also do I need to clean the contacts on the top and bottom? I don't want to damage it.
That coating on the pins is a thick lithium grease. I’ve seen on one occasion where the grease itself was causing an issue. Use a few q-tips and some brake cleaner to clean it off. Wet the q-tips and don’t spray directly on or into the EEC. Yes you need to clean both sides.
What tires you got in the rear? Looks like nitto nt555 g2?
Nitro 555 G2. 275/40-17’s. Just a street tire. Not a drag radials or anything really sticky.
I hope those rear fenders were flared the same from the factory if you were plumb bobing off of them to set rear center. Nice job.
It’s more so the tires don’t rub. English roads are very bumpy.
nice .........lots of powa 😅😅
What? No mention of my heads coming in shortly and the 406? That's fine, Pete can have his moment. Are you going to paint the family truckster metallic pea? If you know, you know. #nationallampoons

No air conditioning and used seats lol all that work
It’s a factory non A/C car and the seats could pass for NOS. I suspect you live in a southern state.
No even in northern states it’s still here hot and humid. Even if the car didn’t come with AC you have the talent to install it. You have undeniable skills. And something that isnt done normally installing a factory sunroof. The coupes didn’t come with one after 1984 or 1986. I had one installed. It little things that make the car all around appealing. That being said to do a restoration like this being in another country where you have to import parts I can get next day is nothing short of incredible.
600 bucks here used and dressed . In the u.k probably double
Simply beautiful work!
