For me binding blade is boring except for the final chapters. I cant understand why people loves it so much, Roy is not even that interesting as a main character... Instead, Blazing blade is so much fun and beautiful.

If I were to make a suggestion for a future playthrough, try fe4 binary. It fixes a lot of the weapon balancing issues, and ups the difficulty in a lot of ways

My first FE games i played were Mystery of the Emblem and Awakening (awakening being the first i actually beat) but Path of Radiance is My favorite ,its simple , fun, has a great cast of characters, a great soundtrack, iconic villains , My favorite artstyle (courtesy of Senri Kita) , its just thr perfect Fire Emblem for me, gamecube was my childhood but i couldnt get this one back then , worth the wait and i was so lucky to get this and radiant dawn for a reasonable price

I find it a bit strange that at the start of the video you make such a point of emphasizing that with every player playing at their own pace, the same parts of the music don't always line up with the same events in the game, and then later you tell the whole process of the final battle like every part of the music was made for that section of the battle and is telling a gradually progressing story. The song will probably loop by the time you've taken down the barriers. I thought it was a pretty weak part of the video tbh, but i did like the start and end.

I always have Mist with me for this fight, she's strong enough to survive and kill the enemy units with magic swords. Even for story reasons it's best to have her. But thanks for making this chart, it's really easy to understand with your explanation!😊

I just finished FE4 last night and I think your take on it is the one I jive with the most. I think it's a good game, but I'm also glad that some of its mechanics didn't catch on to the rest of the series. Example: I'm okay with the trading/pawnshop thing, but I'm glad that didn't become the norm for games moving forward. But all that aside, I had fun, but after I finished, I couldn't help but wonder if I'd have had more fun if I just played something else. I think FE4 has the skeleton of something really special, and I would love to see a spiritual successor to it to iterate on its ideas like how SS did with Gaiden. I think a proper spiritual successor ought to rebalance foot soldiers and/or maybe give more of those secret items to characters who don't get holy blood to level the playing field. I also wasn't a fan of the blobs/waves of enemies and I'd love to see the continental maps have some more...intentionality to them with enemy placement and reinforcements.

The drums are definitely that point where it becomes clear that Ashera is not an evil sorcerer but a wrathful god

I really like how pronounced units are in their roles in Binding Blade. And the fact promotion items for each class are so rare encourages you to not just rely on one type but a balanced mix of all. This does lead to a ton of imbalance, like Armor Knights being pretty useless, or Calvs and flyers still being the best overall units, but with how extreme characters are in their roles, it can lead to them filling their own niche that the better classes don't have. Wolt and the other archers aren't great but the fact they do so well against the scariest enemy type in the game, and this player phase game does benefit archers too. And Myrmidons are the best combat class as they should be, but have little utility beyond that. Warriors are high risk, high reward. Mages provide better on average damage than others but struggle to double.

I am thankful Path of Radiance is my first Fire Emblem game, otherwise my ideas on what makes my ideal fire emblem game would be..., well lets get into that discussion another time. Every Fire Emblem game as well as romhack should play almost exactly like Path of Radiance for these reasons 1: Everything is on the base. Support Conversations, skill loadouts, buying/forging stuff. Dragging out an entire chapter to purchase and check out shops is not how I want to play Fire Emblem. 2: Supports, they build by deploying two units, It needs to be like this for every single official Fire Emblem game and styled romhacks or mods. Luckily with FEbuilder, we can make the GBA Fire Emblem games play like Path of Radiance when it comes to this point. 3: Strict Item-based promotions. That cannot come back in 2024. I'm also fine with Master Seals; as to my previous point about FEBUILDER, it takes twenty minutes to make FE6-FE8 into Master Seal based promotion system. I also love auto-promotion at level 21 though its kinda stupid to have the level reset to 1. A Level 21 unit is a Level 21 unit. 4: Ironman friendly: It took me quite a while to get into Fire Emblem but I played it Ironman style for my first few playthroughs and I managed to get onto the last chapter but I gave up. Only realized I can bring in a super team if I reset after a unit death. I beat the game after starting a brand new playthrough. Regardless, I do think that outside the JP Maniac Mode that Path of Radiance is Ironman friendly, as is the original FE1. All in all, Path of Radiance is the perfect starter game. ---------- The only thing I do not like about PoR is the 5 Support limit. I am in favor of having unlimited supports but only having only one active support between a particular pair of characters. So Ike can have like a maxed out support list with A with Mist, Titania, Oscar and Soren but he can only have 1 active support with any of the aforementioned characters which can be set during battle preps.

one of the things that pisses me off about binding blade is the fact that the characters simply don't react to what is happening in each chapter clarine just discovered that there is essentially slave labor in the western isles(a etrurian colony) but she doesn't say anything about helping the resistance or show her own positioning against it(atleast not until you recruit her brother), or in my opinion the worst example:the fact that rutger has 0 reaction when you reach/liberate bulgar in the sacae route, FE6 really would benefit of having more characters talk instead of just merlinus and roy

binding blade is hated because its the only FE in the GBA requires people to actually use their brain instead of sit with popcorn and watch their jagen kill everything with a javelin

Great video, one minor mistake. Altina waa giving the 2 swords to defeat Yune. After Yune's defeat, Ashera wanted to kill Yune. However, Lehran, Degnisea, Soan, and Altina convinced her to not destroy Yune. But lock Yune in the medallion. Ashera agrees, with the condition that if Ashera is woken up in the next 1.000 years, she will end the whole world. The dragon king Deghnisea and Lehran agreed and tried to have peace for the next 1.000 years.

I wished that during the big moment with Alear after the emblems do their thing i wished that sigurd took the most out of all the rings and it shaped it into a different one and that would become seliph but still have some of his skills but a bit improved (or not since it would mean missing some of siigurd’s skill’s).

Finally, someone who appreciates the soundtrack as much as I do. FE music is amazing, but I honestly believe that Radiant Dawn has the best soundtrack in the entire series. Easily the best instrumentation of any film or game score I’ve ever heard. The only other FE that comes close is Fates.

Funny enough, I had the opposite case with FE4. When I first finished FE4 in 2016 (the year of my first playthrough), I thought the story was fantastic - the best in the series, even, and touted it as one of my personal favorites. And for the most part, it is still memorable. However, over time when I came back to it, I realized that the characters were super undercooked to make way for the grand plot, and I just saw it as inferior to the other True Fire Emblems. It's still a good game, but FE5 is simply better in every way, in my opinion. Not just the gameplay.

I would definitely need to hear an explanation on why the Thracia cast is so good. Admittedly, I didn't finish the game, but from what I did play most of them may as well have been generics for all the difference it made.
