4 People Speak This Language in Turkey
I'm 1st generation Greek-American from a Dodecanese (Aegean) Island. I think you're right in stating that both peoples coexist well with one another. Two of my closest friends are Turkish and we never bother with National dialogue. It's my opinion, though, that the biggest problem, a huge one, that Turkey's Governments 'reputation suffers from is that they refused for decades to admit to Historical facts about Armenia, the Kurds, Cyprus, the Brutality of the Ottoman Empire, etc. All nations have shared blame for inhumane acts but have owned up to them and moved on in the right direction.
Why would a random Turk hate any neighbor? since they kept all of Anatolia+genocide. its the neighbors that would have problems
TURKIA IS AMAZING TO🇬🇪🇬🇪🇹🇷🇹🇷 love from Georgia
As a Greek I found your video very refreshing and I feel the same way. If you go on comment threads it makes you feel hopeless. I’ve been to your country many times and I have always enjoyed how friendly everyone is.
Don't talk about Armenia when youre clueless.
Turkey has borders with 8 countries and has problems with seven of them, only one has no problems, Azerbaijan...cause they are the same nations 😂😂😂
I mean, what is average view? Genoice denial? Continuing aggressiveness against other Nato allies like Greece? No free press because of dictator Urdogan?
Here’s the whole thing with Turkey. It’s a country that comes from the most recent empire where most of the neighbors have lost land to the new country of Turkey from the Ottoman Empire. So if you have in recent memory your own people or even family that came from there you will have a bias against them. If you’re Turkish you have gained land and do not feel like someone took something from you. Genetically speaking though many Turks have Greek genetics along with other Balkan, Arab, Persian and other. So western Turks are closely related to Greeks since the Greeks of Anatolia got assimilated.
I'm a Greek and I agree that the Turkish baklava is better than the Greek one 😀. Our version is not as refined.
As a greek i felt the same when i went to Turkey. Its a familiar space, and even though i dont hate the Turkish people i dislike the attitude and actions of the Turks in my area (Thrace). They are disrespectful, but i recognise that us greeks are also unwelcome towards Turkish people. I believe we are really similar and we shouldn't fight over meaningless things like weather who owns certain regions.
As a Persian I Used to live in turkiye For 2 years and it was Perfect, i think we should not see things in political view Respect for our Turkish neighbor 🇮🇷🤝🇹🇷
As a Armenian, Thanks Jigyar
since you didn't hate on us Greeks I won't hate to you Turks either and on the statement that Turkish baklava is better than Greek baklava is so true man
The first thing that should come to your mind about your neighbors like Greece and Armenia is your genetics and ancestry.
love türkiye from brazil ❤
As an Armenian-American, thanks for the kind analysis and the video. I know many Turkish people and Azeris and we all get together for coffee and beer and everything is fine. One gathering had Israelis, Iranians, Azeris, Armenians, and a Palestinian (in the US). Like no one cared, we all just drank and laughed and ate.
Can you stop this barbaric ottoman mentality and try to be friends with your neighbors? Everyday we think turkey Will Wait some other country because they believed on expansion..🐓🫷🛑 Be Friendly
Friendly suggestion: Make DNA tests and you will have a BIG SURPRISE 😉
we have so much in common but nationalism is destroying everything. We are big customers of Us and Europe to buy weapons, terrible. we belong together, with our good and our bad. We need to learn that from school. Love and peace from Greece.
We Will United Armenia We dont want neighbours like you 😂
Here we go again we all know Greek baklava is better actually for me more syrup makes the best baklava.
Hi from lesvos Island greece...we feel the same way...
We leave together for centuries.... Greeks was under occupation for centuries and second class citizens. We didnt chose that. Turkey is an aggresive neighbor and it will attack when he finds the chance. Invaded Cyprus 1974. Invaded Irak. Invaded 3 times Syria. And pretty much destroyed Armenia after helping Azerbaitzan.
"koptoplakous" is the original name of baklava in Greece. comes from the Minoan era and was used until the Byzantine period. a very popular dessert of Crete.
Many cultural and culinary advancements happened in the Ottoman empire. It is hard to attribute an invention to a specific nation when everyone was pretty much interacting and neighboring with each other.
what about cyprus and bulgaria or lebanon
1121
You forget about ....Cyprus ??!!!.... This country is in you're neighbourhood ???? ,or what ????.
Happy New year from Athens ❤
as a Georgian i love Tukye its nature, dishes and hospitality, often rest in ur country love coffee and baklava, rahat lukum, no I love all Turkish sweets and kababs, travelled nearly in all arts of Turkey and each is amazing
Im greek... 😂❤😂 I hare Turkey but the goverment not the people❤❤
Love from greece mr Turk Chap
As a Greek who has been to 10 Turkish cities I can say tha majority of the people definitely do not think similar to us. Most cities Ive been to, I saw people who are very conservative, or extremely religious for our standards. But on the surface it looks like this in cities such as Edirne and Izmir. You can find equally good baklava in stores with people who got forced to immigrate to Greece from Turkey. It's almost identical. But it's not as highly available in every corner like in Turkey.
🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪
Mashallah I had to read Baburnama for a thesis of my friend, and learnt few chagatai turkic words, I hear those in uzbek videos
Love from Georgia my friend 🇬🇪🤝🇹🇷
It was so pleasant watching your video. We feel at home when visiting Turkey as well! Let me differentiate a bit: in Turkey baklava is made from pistaccios in Greece from walnuts. In the Byzantine empire they made a sweet pastry called samousathes made from phyllo dough, walnuts and honey syrop which is really the 'ancestor' of baklava. Regards from Athens
baklava is not greek because they don't have b in thier alphabet, they say mpaklava
Well, Azerbaijani people and propaganda say that armenians don't even exist and never even lived in Armenia.... 😅
As a greek i can totally confirm our huge difference….You drink sooo much tea….😅😅😅
9:41 you are my brother .you know we hate that ❤
Kurdish are not minority they are 25% of Türkiye
That makes them a minority
Armenian here, have been in Istanbul twice, the city was great.
Also I want to Add, my Mum's Sister Married a Greek / Turk Man. We all Loved him and Cared about him. He was a Nice Person and we all never had a Problem with him. I lived in Greece for 8 years (1971 - 1978). Then came to Australia with my Parents and Sister. We're I got Married and become a ......!. To me my best memories were in Greece were all my relatives are. Today most are dead, except for there Children. One life all I can see on TV, was the Middle East, Turkey Vs Greece , Iran and now N.Korea and China. Plus the Muslim Migrants causing trouble in Europe. Plus Over Population, that leads to Unemployment and Poverty. This is the World today. And now there is a Big Chance that Turkey and Israel could go to War. If that happens, WW3 will occur...is that Nice Man? No....
Man in Turkey do that teach children at School, that the Greeks Defeated Most that Tried to Invade Greece? (The Persians, Italians, Germans). The Othman Empire was and is no more. No way Turkey can defeat Israel's 600,000 men in 23 Divisions ('12 Armored, 8 Mechanized, 2 Infantry and 1 Air Born). Plus 700 Warplays, 6 Sumbarines and 300 Atomic Bombs. With 8 million People in Israel and 90 million People in Other Cantrys. Plus all the Arab Cantrys in the Middle East and N.Africa. Even Germany, France, UK, US and NATO. So why try? The Othman Empire was Great and Nice before. So was Alexander the Great Empire, so was the Roman Empire, Napoleon and and Hitler. But they all are no more. Turkey had 20 years 40 million People (2000). Today has 80 million People (2025). And in 20 more years, 100 million People (2045). The Problem is Over Population. Not only in Turkey, but all Over the World in Many Cantrys. In 200 years, can the Earth Feed all these Future People? So thats the Major Problem that exists now. Also Love and Peace is the Best Solution. But believe me, if Turkey Attacks Greece...it will be the End for Turkey.🤔😎🌏🇦🇺🇬🇷⚔️🛡️👀😩
There are also Bulgaria and Cyprus..
As a Greek I can confirm that Turk baklava is better than Greek and that's because you can unlock a special ability called diabites. No offense , but the greek baklava is not so sweet and you can enjoy it without your blood sugar hit the moon.
