The leaky solenoid killed your alternator, if u don’t fixed the leak the new alternator will soon be out of service
Congratulations on your breakout role as 'Former Soviet Union Tool Review Guy'. I look forward to more episodes.
Watched all your videos, same conclusion. Combination of AVE zip ties and bias plys, vice grip garage. Thanks for the entertainment!
There were these supposed 10 year incandescent bulbs right around the time the mercury flavoured ice cream cones came out. I wonder what happened to those..
It's not the manufacturer that is inscribed on bottom left. It says "thsena 49 rub" meaning "price 49 Rubles"
@17:30 Good thing you got out. Thought it was going to be another "127 Hours" situation! 😁
9:30 I'd be shocked if that resistor had managed to fail without looking the part, but I suppose it could have cracked internally. One thing I have seen while doing repairs, is some types of solder joints are seemingly completely impervious to multimeter leads. I don't know if it's a specific type of solder that forms a strong oxide layer, or what, but I've legitimately had to add solder just for probing. Sometimes putting the leads on top of the component works instead. P.S. I'd probably suspect a bad electrolytic capacitor. There wasn't any smoothing present on the rectified voltage.
what is it with people on that side of the world and the L in soLder???
Thank you so much for the bushing tip. I fought that thing late at night. Gave up around 12. Watched this and knocked it out the next morning.
That drill looks like soviet fallout
You sound like a young lad but those mitts of your have put in some elbow grease
14:16 SUBBED!!!!!
you say 5 years or less..... i manage a restaurant and CAN CONFIRM, this brand doesn't even last ONE YEAR in most cases. I change them out more than i would if they were incandescent bulbs, BUT they do burn less electricity...
This dude is funny as fu@k 😂😂😂
The third time it popped off I would have thrown it in the creek and gone to get the torch.
This tool is a proof-of-concept.
Saw the bad ass knife you used to open the box from Russia. Had to sub.
Watching in 2024, made me decide to get my 1975 c20 camper special back on the road! Thanks Derick!!
I have one, and I actually kind of like it. My dad and grandpa both got one for Christmas one year, and after my grandpa passed I got some of his tools, including this one. And I do occasionally find uses for it. The one complaint I do have is the size, it's got a much larger profile than the meat powered adjustable open end wrench, so it doesn't really fit in tight spaces as easily.
I would love a class action lawsuit against these guys. Such false advertising, it's shameful. Most of mine from HD or Lowe's last less than two years before they do disco dance party and fail.
Heuh, sir, that's 3 different drill in there for the soviet one...
Yeah, about the well. Send a camera down, take a looksie. It might need a liner and You should use the right pipe from the pump up. Watch the H2o Mechanic, he´s a well guy and has a lot of good videos about well stuff. You shure can pick up stuff or maybe give him a call. Kind Regards
Man I wish more people could find this channel. Best gem i stumbled upon a while back, great mistake.
LEDs knock the socks off of incandescent light bulbs. LEDs offer light with almost no energy lost to heat.
“Smells like nostalgia” - made me chuckle. Subscribed.
I have a very heavy old one on my upstairs hallway, it's been there for 25 years and still works.
My early led bulbs used to last about 6 months or so. About 5 years ago I installed solar and an inverter, and since then I have led bulbs that have lasted from then and still going. (One or two have failed, but none that I have replaced since switching to the inverter). I compared the waveforms from the mains and the inverter, the inverter is significantly better but also doesn't have the pulses, spikes and surges which I see on occasion on the mains. I'm guessing that is significant. Anecdotally, if my sound system is on the inverter (which it usually is) it sounds great. On odd occasions under heavy cloud or rain I am forced to switch on the mains to compensate, and then the inverter routes the mains through and the house is on mains. My sound system doesn't sound as good, and I have an audible hum on the speakers.
11:20 you should mention this is for advanced users, flaring is not for everyone
So cool how they figured out that your phone and tripod were the foreign objects nearest the nest, and attacked that
The no cap line was underappreciated
Seems to me, in order to fix the problem. We need to take the power supply or AC out of leds.....
I've not heard the term "Electrolytic Capacitor" since the mid 80's electronics class.
I noticed LEDs get dimmer over time too. I replaced a bulb in a ceiling light with an identical bulb, bought at the same time but never used, and I nearly blew my eyes out. So after 1-2 years, they lose a good % of lumens too
lol, I never even try to read resistor color bands any more either. Too many bands and too many colors. I never know which side to start reading from. There are so many tolerance colors and they overlap with the numeric colors.
What are you doing to your videos? Why are they so horrifically bright compared to the rest of the screen
It’s not on my end. Your monitor settings aren’t compatible with HDR video. If you’re on an iPhone, try turning on low battery mode while watching.
Thanks for the help!
the led light cirquits at college where much worse than the one in that chinese one. as they had no stabilisation or such. but might be some parts are designed to fail faster, like pushing components to their absolute limits intentionally while it would cost 1 cent more to make them much more capable. bad solder joints also are such a example, as these days many things are designed with the intend to fail rapidly. surface mount parts get loose solder joints much more easily than through hole, to fix that they normally are pretty flat and with a wide area, so all those companies surface mount soldering through hole components that is a easy recipe for failure. on some expensive brand or designer lightbulbs they even add special parts which essentially act like a timer to make the lightbulb die after a certain amount of time, or they intentionally overdrive the leds or add special materials which slightly change colour to make their colour change over time so that when one light is replaced all have to be replaced, as in most modern companies and such they don't like different coloured leds(I guess companies are led racist, has to always be in led psychopath mode. also you mentioned 5000k being psychopath, but here in netherlands many busineses want even higher k numbers for their buildings and rooms. next to that somehow all companies want such insane intensity from leds that your eyes almost fry themselves when entering such a building.
Good that you had that foot switch laying around. I would have simply replaced the momentary switch with a toggle switch as that is all I have laying around my shop.
AK-47 vibes here xD
5 year life in the LED you buy, wow that great. My NOMA LED bulbs fail within 2 years, what a joke the LED lifespan claim is. Get the DOJ after those companies instead of them persecuting Trump and giving the Bidens immunity.
You know it’s possible to build an LED bulb that runs the LEDs directly off line current, right? I built one that’s nothing but LEDs and wire. It runs on 120V AC and sits inside an A19 enclosure. It’s been running continuously for over ten years.
That visual with the Milwaukee and the tools it displaces was fantastic
Thanks for the entertaining investigation. Appreciated.
Those flat head screws are more proof of the horrors of communism.
2:40 rare electroboom shout out
I have those same strippers. Used to be great, now they just tear shit up
Love this video super fun and very informative thanks!!
One of the LED bulbs in the bathroom vanity stayed dimly lit when the power was off. Even if I unscrewed it and held it in my hand, it seemed like it was still on. Curious about that failure case. Capacitor?
The flashlight makes for a good heater.
