That REGAL SHIELD! I just took mine out of the Detolf and it now is living on top of it very near a grow light. I love this plant so much. And I agree that it's the EASIEST alocasia there is!

However, with winter now here, I am hesitant to purchase over the winter although last February they were fine.

Beautiful plants great video as always.. Say like your last alocasia, how much water do you put in the outer pot? As you don't have a water meter in that one, in how much time you check the water level... on the other hand... at times with those selfwatering pots, most of the times those meters get stuck... you think the water level is good and after a time you think tchien the plant isn't really thirsty is it...then that leaf inside your head hits the floor ... could it be the water meter, and yes.... bone dry ofcourse... the water meter didn't go down... so now as i have many cach pots maybe i will do a few of my plants in pon in clear nursery pots in a outer pot, but then i wonder how high should the water be? a third? Because when the cach pot is empty and you fill it with water lets say for a third, but when you put the nursery pot in, the water in the cach pot will go up ofcourse so, thats why i'am wondering how high you do the water? Hey, great video!! I think it was march of this year, as my dad was really sick and i was caring for him day in and out as he couldn't get out of bed anymore... what my dad loved to do with me was chosing , buying and unboxing plants... so in march we bought about 30 Hoya's from Casa Botanica.. In their informative paper they said if you repotted the Hoya's within a month and something would go wrong you didn't get a refond. I always leave new bought plants be for a fortnight...now with these hoya's longer... My dad passed away in my arms in July and he was my hero, my soulmate my everything...I loved him more than live itself. The passed months i am struggling to keep going, also with my plants, but i can't let them die because my dad loved them aswell...so maybe you can give some advise... The hoya's are still in their nursery pots (yip those tiny tiny ones)... I bought on temu a million from those self watering planters... you have them aswell i saw... I don't know what to do and in my head i am going back and forward what to do... I love to put my hoya's into pon in those planters... but should i put them first in stratum or water before i put them in to pon or straight after cleaning the roots from soil (you don't get everything of) in to pon... Looking for the best way just to reduce the chance from root rot!!! what would you do? Keep making those great video's, grtz 🥰

My cuprea is in a pon/leca/chunky pumice mix with a base layer of fluval in no drainage. And it LOVES it.

I have a cuprea in pon…it had rotted, I keep it on the dryer side though, a tiny reservoir if any. Seems ok now-new roots etc x

I use plastic lids or caps from jars or medication bottles to elevate the inner pot, if it doesn't quite fit into the cache pot. I have moved all my alocasias, a whopping five, from stratum to pon, they seem to be happy. Great video, as always, thank ypu!

The only problem I have had is with Thai constellation. I moved it from Leca to soil

My cuprea is in Pon. Loving life. I check them every day and add water when needed. Self watering pots. I just got Friday 4 more alocasias and they have death plug on them. If I take plug off it will rip all roots off. How do I get plug off 😢

U could put a layer of pon on the bottom of the lovely green cover pot to level the inner pot. Xxx

are you sure you have the correct name for your anthuriums? i believe the large one is the lux x rad not the small one

That Anthurium Regale x Luxiarians is in great shape! Some minor cosmetic damage from shipping is minimal compared to the overall size and vitality of that plant. I know you have anthurium already but you really should not mess with the new leaves because they damage so easily. It’s a beautiful plant 🥰

I’ll be very interested to see if your Regal x Lux is fertile. The Rad x Lux is supposed to be a sterile hybrid which is a bummer. I love mine!

FYI the pink Episcia are more fussy than the green toned ones. Keep an eye on her and if she starts to fail put her in higher humidity. And don’t let her dry out. These were painful lessons for me so I hope it helps you!
