I absolutely adore and love my Hoya linearis! It´s different from all other Hoyas, very fast growing and, for me, very easy care, therefore I wholeheartedly recommend that one. Furthermore I´ve got a H. thomsonii, a H. calycina stargazer and a H. retusa, because I love "fuzzy" and "quirky" plants. Don´t know if I can recommend, because they´re still cuttings that I have finally started to get the hang of and have started to grow.
I’ve been told about the linearis but I don’t know it’s one I’m on the fence about. Maybe one day I’ll give that one a try. Ooo I do love the fuzzy leaves so I will definitely look those up! Thank you 💚
Nice collection, That hoya looks like carnosa to me I have one to , i would check with the microscope for flat mites on your hoyas it might be what that damaged be, also i find when my hoyas get to dry they will abandon new groth and pedoncles so im trying not let them dry out Maybe you could try to but polyneura in to a plastic bag to increases humidity to 100 % Love your videos 😊
I don’t know anything about flat mites so I do need to look in to that. Yes the lacunosa silver did make peduncles but they died of and that could have been from not enough water. Oo that’s actually a good idea with the polyneura! Going to try that! Thank you 💚
@myjunglestory hoya can absorb nutrients through its leaves.it should give the leaves some nutrition and water. I would also keep it in very high humidity, but with good airflow. Worst case scenario, if it doesn't bounce back. I just got cuttings of a polyneura, I'll send you some when it grows a little bit xxx
Everything that was Hoya Macrophylla is now Hoya Latifolia (Hoya Marccrophylla is still mysteriously supposed exist but apparently it is not what we buy as hoya Macrophylla types) Also the Hoya Krohniana Eskimo is now just Hoya Krohniana (super) silver (since eskimo is an insult to some) I get very confused when names change For instance… I have a lot of Verticillatas now all of a sudden (Acuta/Parasitica and some more are now all Verticillata). Im keeping both names on them otherwise it just gets too confusing 😅 And then theres Hoya aff. Walliniana and Hoya Walliniana variegata that are now Hoya Sipitangensis 🤯 I sometimes wonder how we are supposed/expected to remember all that As for identifying Hoya…. Sometimes you can sort of tell… like with Hoya Caudata (but then often you cannot go further than that it is a Caudata type). But often you can only really find out what it is when it blooms, there are so many different Hoyas out there and many of their leaves are similar. Sometimes even when it blooms it will be hard to tell, but a lot easier 😅 But whatever you do when you identify a Hoya after purchasing it… never add the ascension number (often 2-3 letters and some numbers), because you can not be sure that it is a cutting of that particular Hoya 😉 What surprises me here in the Netherlands is that people expect to get plants at the price of cuttings. This is due to some professional growers/shops mass importing/mass producing some (popular) varieties cheaply. And they often come with deathplugs and/or (root)mealies. A cheap one node Hoya cutting from a private grower with healthy plants is usually between 5 and 20 euros, the more special, the slower growing or more difficult to grow or newer types can be a lot more expensive, sometimes over a 100 euros for a one node unrooted cutting. Some easy to grow and bloom, not so expensive random ones that came to mind that I didn’t see in this vid: - Hoya Calycina - Hoya Cutis Porcelana - Hoya Fitchii - Hoya Heushkeliana inner Variegated - Hoya Icensis - Hoya Patricia - Hoya Rebecca - Hoya Waymaniae Cloudy Skies (easiest to bloom of the Waymaniae) I don’t really have tips for how to get them to bloom, a lot of them just do 😅. Well maybe good light (which you obviously give them), keeping up on watering (though some people say that Hoyas need to dry out to bloom, but originally they come from very rainy places), maybe frequent fertilizing? (All my plants get liquid gold leaf every watering when they actively grow and a little less of it when they don’t grow as much, the advise for Hoyas is usually an orchid fertilizer though) The ones that you have don’t need higher humidity to bloom as far as I am aware.. some are Carnosa types, and those can take a long time to bloom sometimes 🌱🌸 I wont bore you with a list of what Hoyas I have… they are doing well.. some are still blooming or budding up even though it is November, some are slowing down already. Some didn’t like the summer heat, so they actually went dormant in summer for a bit… and started growing a lot in September/October.

As for identifying Hoya….
Sometimes you can sort of tell… like with Hoya Caudata (but then often you cannot go further than that it is a Caudata type).

Leaves aren’t round a enough, I think it’s the carnosa family.
