It's a lot of fun watching you play this. Wish I hadn't missed this game back when it was first out.

I love playing it but until they add realistic damage and DNFs, it’ll never be on the same planet at WoO 2002.

The only track I would like to see is oshweken speedway. It’s my second favourite track on the circuit since i only live a short distance from it here in Canada. They have held a lot of world of outlaws events

I don’t think you’ve picked up on it, but cars with the “D” symbol are more suitable for Demos than Races. You can also repair cars at the track, but I think it costs more than doing it at home. Push Off Derbies work like this: 1 point for a kill, but you get two if you push them off without killing them. You CAN still win if you’re eliminated

I used to play this on a demo on the PlayStation 2 all the time One level but hey it was really good never got a hold of the game

Indycar 2005 has a PS2 port but was only released in PAL regions, still you can emulate it on PCSX2 which is easier to run since PAL is 50fps instead of 60fps.

Hopefully they add more visual damage to cars

It's difficult to get to 2020 and may take a few seasons, but any upgrades you make stay on the car for the next season so it gets easier. Great game. I love it.

I had no idea Indy Car ever got a game

I loved this game. I was in a league for this game on Xbox. So many great memories of perfecting a setup all week to run the weekly league race. Some of my best memories on Xbox live

If you want to use a good track for testing framerate ans what not I'd suggest Indy, stands and buildings on both sides of the track especially on the frontstretch can cause slowdowns on lesser hardware.

NASCAR THE GAME 2013 and 14 work well too if you can find a Steam Key for them, think Amazon still sells them.

My AOKZOE A1 can handle all the NASCAR games aside from the OG Xbox ones (those struggle even on my main PC). Fun to play NT2004 upscaled in PCSX2. It's more powerful than the Steam Deck and i think it has hall effect triggers and sticks.

With emulation on the steam deck, you'll be able to play all the nascar games ever. The 360 games should be fine.

Nascar Heat 5 is a gem on Steam Deck. One thing to note, Nascar Heat 5 does not support cloud saves. I use SyncThing to back up my game saves back to PC and vice versa. Just something to note if you're someone who is also wanting to play on your PC as well.

On these older F1 games, the ACTUAL single race mode is under the game modes section. There you can actually adjust more of the settings and all of the tracks are available.

Fun fact: this is one of the more expensive games to get actual copies of these days. I got it for $30 at a store that sells most of their PS2 games for around $5 and was able to resell it on ebay for $35 once I was done with it. Such a classic.

Is there no option for throttle position or is it just all or nothing on throttle?

I had thought the pace car also had the 2 green arrows above it on the starts. But of the struggles of this game.

Anbody agree the new game coming needs a replay system like baxterville or from the grandstands point of view for streaming purposes and how much better it would be imo it needs it really bad. You could go live and viewers could watch it like a real race or you could make videos etc etc you get the point

Everybody is always trying to win this thing in just 10 laps. You can get to like 25th and stall out... just gotta block and wait for cautions. They do tend to happen during pit stops half the time, too.

One thing I’ve always found comical, if you go into the basic setup and adjust the gearing full to the right for speed over acceleration, it completely takes away the need for fourth gear on your own. Also, I’ve personally found the roof cam works wonders… I don’t find myself reacting to what the back of the car is doing and it just feels better
