The motion blur on the PS2 CRTV experience back in the day made this game feel like a major upgrade; in retrospect, I think the blur was hiding engine problems with frame rates
At 1:37, as someone who actually played 05, the modified cars were totally different. Different sponsors, drivers, almost everything. Also, on an unrelated note, the cup races had two 21 cars on track Lol
Hi, I am a NASCAR fan from Germany and NASCAR 08 was my first NASCAR game back in the day. I have noticed that there is a small difference between the American version and the European version, specifically that Kyle Busch's #5 car is missing in the European version of the game.
Even though this game has a few bugs but I love when the AI get that speed comp thing and cause massive wrecks. Craftsman Speedway is a lot of fun with that speed comp thing after you pit in a 12% race there. Also the soundtrack is really good, one of my favorites. NASCAR 06 works pretty well for me on the Xemu emulator, PCSX2 was great until they added Hardware Download Rate or whatever it was and it broke the graphics on my end so I moved over to the Xemu emulator.
2:38 Dirt to Daytona didn't officially have manufacturers but the body shapes were clearly there, Fords actually look like Fords, Dodges look like Dodges, etc
These games are easy to play on an emulator, heck my phone runs 09 in 1080p. The Thunder games are notoriously difficult to run on less powerful hardware though.

Good timing! I picked up a ussd PS2 NASCAR 08 Limited Edition (with LE jacket and Walmart cheat code) at a used game store today.
I always loved the ticker on top during the race, I played this game probably too much lol
I love how this game lets you have blowovers at any track
The trucks and the car of tomorrow could have been accurate they might have to remaster this with the right manufacturers

07 was my first NASCAR game (i got my ps2 6 months after it came out), 08 PS2 was the first game i got right when it came out, my uncle bought me it.

I remembered getting NASCAR 06 working on the emulator. I can't remember what I did but i successfully got it working
