I like this general style, but think I'd slope the handle slot 30 degress, go I could put all my fingers through it and grip it firmly. I'd probably start with a 2x8 hardwood and glue on sacrificial 2 inch strip which I could cut off and place as needed. I'd also add an adjustable back plate. But, the proof is in the pudding, so Imight alter these pkans on the next iteration. Thanks for sharing your design with us.

The Bosch rail connector is perfect. No need to haul a great long 8 ft rail around. Joining 2 or 3 rails together you get a perfect straight line. Bosch wins on the Mafell rail system

Really great instructional video. However I do feel like you should have put the guard back on for filming, or at least mention that you only removed it to get a clear view for demonstrational purposes. (Even if it's a lie, haha.) It's good to remind beginners that, when it comes to jointers in particular, those fingers are definitely not going to be re-attachable on the other end. 😅

IMHO this video presenter is probably being paid by Wedi. He didn't disclose what Wedi's foam density was, when he brought it up, nor gave any real proof of how the shower pan actually works. Rather, he spent his time demeaning someone else's OPINION, whether he agreed with him or not. He degradingly refers to flat earthers, shows a picture of a monkey and an old telephone ringing, etc. Anytime someone has to use demeaning tactics to "try" and prove a point then one should take a harder look at what they're trying to cover up.

Thank you for the excellent and thorough lesson! I am glad to see by way of your response to a three-week old comment that you are still around. My major takeaway is that an appropriate push block--not a pad or stick--is essential for proper technique which gets down to precise pressure points, and none more important than that for the in-feed table. Would you please give some specs for making an excellent push block like the one you use in this presentation? I have a 76 x 8-inch jointer, so what length would you recommend? Do you add weight to the wooden block? An another point, that of grain direction, do you have any technique to help determine this? I find that lightly wiping a board's face with a micro fiber works as one direction seems to catch the grain more than wiping in the other direction. Again, thanks! Any advice would be appreciated. In reality they are all as good as each other, with the Fesstool having marginally better extraction. The quality of the sanding pads and sheets make a difference. The ETS is a better choice for finish sanding.

28 years of being a finish carpenter and ive yet to see a miter saw thats 100% perfect. You get to know your saw and you use your skill to make up the difference. Remember chaulk and paint will fix what it aint !

So, I used to edit a magazine called TOOLS of the TRADE and I can tell you right now that after stumbling into your video while looking up how to twist a few bolts to adjust my miter saw fence, I’d be all over your to be a contributor. now I wish I would have bought something other than the Preformax miter saw. because most of those adjustments are not on this saw of mine. like the bevel detent place or miter detent plate. all are fixed or molded in to the saws base ect.

If you have an old Kapex the first thing to check is the two fence halves are coplanar. If they are not in alignment then you can only have one side at 90 degrees. If your saw as ever had a kickback the chances are that the fence would have been bent inwards. Add a sacrificial fence to both sides. The sacrificial fence can then be jointed so the two halves are coplanar. Then adjust using the manual.

Does the Bosch dust port pair with the Festool dust hose?

Festool falls short after the 3 year warranty, They only have centralized repair center which can cost a fortune in shipping after the warranty is up. Think about the cost of shipping a Kapex back. When you send it back. They fix everything which can also make the repairs expensive. I buy tools that have repair centers in the closest city.

I gave up on miter saws. Theyre just not accurate enough, and they need constant calibration. Even the overpriced Festool has issues with squareness and side to side hinge wobble.

The only problem is, you are relying on a monolithic joint. Hopefully your installer takes their time and gets it right. The constant complaint in the industry is the lack of qualified installers. Videos like this fail to realize that. Sure, in a lab, this is a slam dunk. But does anyone want to rely in this when it is not "idiot" proof? Having to file a warranty claim sucks.
