    Good explanation. I always flip of the breaker to be sure. Funny...I have had the same light bulbs in my saved list on Amazon for about two months. I'm planning on updating mine in January.

    Hi there, not sure about the light switch, in many countries the light switch is a single pole, so there is always electricity in the system through the other wire.

      @@thebuilditchannel8609 I'm from Europe, our typical electrical net for household has 3 wires, 1 for earthing, a phase and a neutral. If the installation is done recently there is no problem, but older houses or diy installation could mean the wrong wire is connected. So closing the circuit still works, but opening it doesn't mean the wire behind the lightning fixture is current free. You really need to turn the breaker off in order to be sure. So to not take any risks, always turn the breaker off. I have seen cables coming from the power socket being redirected to the lightning fixtures, also seen live earthing cables and other crazy things like that.
