I miss DS Download play SO much. Nintendo games are so expensive these days, and I have so many fond menories of playing DS games with other people on choir trips, or beating my classmates in Mario Kart.

I wish these videos would touch more on the single-player and "story" modes especially as we approach my "problematic fave" Mario Party 9. Personally I understand a LOT of the complaints people have about this game and the ones directly before and after it especially in terms of their multiplayer capabilities, but one positive I will say for DS and 9 are that they had some very entertaining "story mode" challenges, committed to interesting themes, and tried something new with their boss battles. Still definitely not the golden age of the series but as a kid who would often have a Mario-Party-for-one (as pitiful as that sounds lol) I found the story mode to be an important part of each game's legacy

This is easily my favorite Mario Party, and it is not because of childhood nostalgia, i was a kid when the first one came out, 8 came out when i was an adult

I think you're over exaggerating how bad Star Fox Zero's controls are. Also, Star Fox Zero, despite having difficult controls to master, definitely improves greatly on many aspects from Star Fox 64, and I personally believe that it is a better game overall.

I’ve been waiting for this game since 2020 and I finally picked it up on the Switch last weekend. I love this game so much!! Team Reptile has built so much on top of JSR/JSRF and I hope they make another with even more mechanics, assets, and level design. Thanks for the video!

This game is NOT mediocre

This game was my childhood. I remember playing this game a lot with my cousin, and while he always destroy me everytime; it was still fun for me and him to get together and play a round of MP on the go. This is a really great analysis of MPDS, even if I can’t bring myself to too critical with it, there are faults to it that do hinder in retrospect. The items were mostly decent, it’s kinda cheap and the fact you can buy 3 items with less amount of coins is pretty stupid, Golden Pipes especially completely break the game especially on Kamek’s Library and the price being 15 coins isn’t as cheap as SMP 10 coins for Pipes, but still is cheap and makes the game meaningless. The minigames I think are decent, but have stinkers that I think stinks pretty hard, but overall still a decent selection. Obviously, DS was my game growing up; so I have a personal bias for it, but this game is far from perfect and you make a great point that being on a handheld, it makes this entry pretty hard to complete with the console entries despite how hard it tries. I will always have a soft spot for this game, and this is a great retrospective of DS, and I mostly agree with your points while disagree with some aspects mostly in your minigames sections. Great job Mark, and can’t wait until you review Mario Party 9 One last thing, I think this and 2 are the most charming MPs for its themes imo.

Lucky spaces really made every board with the exception of one easily exploitable. Some of the boards would have been fine without those spaces.

I'd buy Star Fox Zero if they remake the controls to be more like 64 and release it on Switch. I'm more of the idea that Star Fox fans want Star Fox 64 but a little better, that's all. Zero had that, BUT I CAN'T SEE THE SHIPS AND ACTION BECAUSE I HAVE TO WATCH FOR THE GAMEPAD.

Sick and twisted. I LOVE the platforming and this minigame delivers. 2. King of the thrill. A 2v2 based on 1v1 combat? Count me in! Honorable mentions: Bob-ombs away, Aim of the game, Blazing lassos, Attention catchers, Moped mayhem. 1. Boo-ting gallery. Nothing like a little shooting down boos in this minigame to feel well with the pointer.

I have hundreds of memories playing Mario Party DS with my older brother, what an incredible game srsly it was so fun and never gets boring, hell during quarantine we played it again and had a blast 😭

It's crazy that I spent a considerable amount of hours in Card Party and Super Duel Mode when I played this as a kid.

Star fox problem is that they wont innovate they just keep reusing 64 story and characters but at the same time you cant swing to far from the formula like adventure its not a easy formula to nail

This is my second favorite Mario Party of the bunch but a lot of that is because of the quality of minigames. Dungeon Duos, Avalanche, Booksquirm, Hop or Pop and Team Treasure Trek are among the games I remember most when I played with my friends.
