Playing Pizza Tower is kinda nostalgic for me. I never played Wario Land before but I wanted to when I was little, but I did play a lot of Mario, Sonic and Rayman. Literally, the speed of Sonic, the exploration of Rayman and the flow/aesthetic of Wario Land.
Two things that you neglected to mention that really should've been in the video. 1: The modding sphere for Pizza Tower is EXTREMELY large. Some mods add a significant amount of cut or concepted content back into the game (i.e Playable Pepperman, Scoutdigo, Chef's Kiss) or restyle the game altogether and make a mod that could be its own spinoff game (Sugary Spire is the leading one, we don't talk about PTR) 2: Pizza Tower actually started off as a concept for a horror game called Pizza Massacre. Eventually, the concept was scrapped, and work on Pizza Tower comics began. There are 3 comics: the ??? Comics, the Noisette Cafe comics, and the Noise and Peppino comics, each one bursting with personality despite being short.
Let’s just hope they don’t do what cuphead’s devs did and make an amazing indie game (and dlc for said game) and then not do anything else. I mean, when was the last time you heard of the cup head dev’s with a new game?
7:34 I wouldnt really call a 1030 (2gb vram) "any PC", at least compared to the other low requirements of just a dual core and only 512 mb of ram (wow lol), but it's certainly forgiving these days. Any computer from 2015+, likely. Makes me wonder how strict the requirements actually are. Has anyone tried running the game on an integrated graphics laptop?
With star field releasing later this year they now have even more pressure to make it good or else the funny pizza game will keep its status if just being better

Pizza tower is the new textbook definition of "instant classic" When The Game Awards come this year, ill definitely be voting for this game for "Indie Game of the Year"
Well, Wario's crown was easy to steal as the recent Wario games are the various Warioware microgames, which is hilariously more similar to your normal review fare of Mario party. Pizza tower feels to me more like a modernized Sega Genesis game to me, like Sonic or Rocket Knight. Very few other consoles have managed to capture this frenetic rush feeling, while this one is topped by great art style and music.
I almost feel sorry for Anton Blast because it has to compete with this game. Not that it won't get bought and played, but it'll be compared to Pizza Tower at every opportunity

I have not shut up about Pizza Tower to my friends. Very few of them are PC Gamers, but they all have Nintendo Switches. Too bad we’re never getting a Switch release. Anyways, this game is phenomenal. While I’m a person who adores well-written narratives in games (my favourite game of all time is Undertale), the refreshingly simple story and premise of Pizza Tower is an amazing hook, and the gameplay doesn’t just serve, it delivers a 5-star meal of pure fun. The game can be beaten relatively fast (about ten hours for me on my first run), but it encourages replayability thanks to top-tier level design and phenomenal controls. Peppino is what happens when Wario and Sonic perform the Fusion Dance, giving you the goofy transformations and powerful attacks from Wario, and the insane speed and momentum of Sonic. The visuals are deceptively simple, too. They give off a MS Paint vibe, but each level has a ton of background details that add so much charm. Peppino himself is animated extremely well, boasting 1,500+ sprites of animation, and it shows. Idle animations, transformations, death animations, he’s got charm out the wazoo. The music is also top-notch, ranging from slow but powerful songs to the absolute adrenaline rushes of ‘It’s Pizza Time,’ ‘The Death That I Deservioli,’ and ‘Thousand March.’ (The names of the songs are hilarious, by the way) There’s so much to talk about this game. It’s rare to find a game that’s short on the surface, but can provide an insane amount of replayability. Tears of the Kingdom may have come out, and Silksong looks like it’s releasing soon, but this is definitely my GOTY. Absolute masterpiece.
I’ve played this game 3 separate times now and I can say that I’m betting for game of the year, move out of the way Zelda, go back to the grave Pikmin 4, Diablo 4’s servers can go back to hell where they came from, Final Fantasy 16 can go final it’s fantasy, and Spider-Man 2 can run for pizza time, because we’ve got fat Italian chef and his pizza tower in the house.
