Hey, so i can't afford the book and don't expect it for free. As a christian, I am completely engulfed with eating bad and struggle with crippling anxiety thinking I'll have a heart attack anyway. As a man who is out of shape, 360 pounds - how do I take my first step? I always try but I fail. Because of being undisciplined
Hey, thank you so much for your comment. I think the first step must be the mental decision to make a change. This can be sparked by some kind of motivation, the Bible, a family member, a diagnosis. Once you make that decision, it's all about taking baby steps from there. After that, simplicity is key. Things that are easy but move you towards your goals. Drinking more water, sleeping well, getting protein in, moving more, go on walks, eat more vegetables at every meal. Small things that dont take much effort but move you towards your goals. Remember, it didn't take you 2 weeks to get here, it won't take 2 weeks to lose the weight either. patience is key here. Go into this with the expectation that you're not doing this just to lose the weight, but for the higher purpose of honouring God in your body. When you are able to shift your motivation to something greater than yourself, to a higher purpose, it becomes much easier to keep going. If you are able to get the kindle version, it's $6. No delosds are important.
I agree, when they are strategic. I put all my athletes through de-load weeks. But the point of a deload is to experience supercompensation from a training load that challenged you. If that load isn’t there and the deload extends too long, you will go through involution and lose the fitness as well.

What advice would you give someone who wants to start cycling?
Great question! Start with finding the domain (road cycling, mountain biking, gravel, BMX, track, commuter). See which one you enjoy the most. Cycling is about having a lot of fun. Then buy a bike. Bikes have a huge range, from a few hundred dollars to tens of thousands, so find one that suits your needs that you can enjoy. Go out and ride, and learn as you go. There is a learning curve, as with all things, but when you have fun that won't matter. Any other way I can help?

Sounds like the group needs to split based on abilities. Why not have a fast group, an intermediate group and a slow group?

@@eliessamahaa When he is pulling away from the group have him drop to the back for a bit, then do a hard interval to get back to the front and pull a bit and then drop to the back and repeat throughout the ride. A group ride is only as strong as its weakest rider if it wants to stay together as a group.
