My question for you is, do you still use a single catalog that has all your sessions imported? Hi Kasia: Thanks for creating and sharing your knowledge of C1. Can you clarify if edits within C1 could be stored on .xmp sidecard files as a protection against the possibility of corrupted C1 Catalogue? Thanks, Keith

Nice pictures and tutorial :) I wish Capture One had support for colour film grain in addition to b&w. I find the grain to be one of the best in all the software, and I like the texture even more than what DxO FilmPack usually produces, but realistic film grain for colour photos should be coloured, and probably sampled from the underlying colours in the image itself.

On my Adjustment Clipboard, I only have the layer selected but it doesn't paste the shapes from my other photo onto the new image. It just applies the same luma levels over the new image. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. When I apply the mask, the mask takes the shape of the new photo. The only thing that's copied over is the level of the luma adjustment but not the shapes from old photo.

I struggle to understand why you do skin tone after advanced color. can't you just do it all in the advanced color?

The advocates of sessions are always very convincing and indeed this workflow has several advantages. But at least two important aspects of catalogs are often overlooked. First, that CO includes simple means to backup catalogs and it can be done e.g. at the end of every working day. And secondly, with catalogs you can organize your archive into a real database, where it is possible to search images by keywords and descriptions, which cannot be done over multiple sessions.

Hi Kasia, thank you for a very fascinating tutorial. I have a question regarding "Flow" in layer setting panel. What does flow do by moving it? You keep it at 100 sometime and you move it to very low another time.

Hi Kasia, thanks for your informative video! Great images! I have been working with C1 for years and every camera system I worked with so far (Nikon, Canon) all images reveal in C1 as set in camera, except for Fuji files! 😳 With my Fuji (XE4) I work with film simulation recipes (e.g. FujiXweekly, always JPG fine +RAW. Unfortunately all JPGs are set to 5000K and 0 hue, when imported into C1, even though my setting in camera is 7200 K! With my RAWs it even gets weirder: the Kelvin value is all over the place and so is the hue value. It's so far off it's unbelievable! This issue has been like that since version 20/21/22 and still is in 23! I have absolutely no clue why this is, since all my Canon files (R5) are exactly as set in camera. It looks like C1 is trying to interpret my film simulation recipe instead of taking the actual values. In C1 I have set import to auto and mode is set to "as shot" Do you have an idea what's happening here? Thanks 🙏🏻
