    ABOUT:
In this video I'm working on one image that is part of my personal, experimental portrait project. The photo was taken with a small spot light to get the effect of movement and multiple exposure. Many unpredictable elements here created in the end the painterly, moody portrait. Complete workflow in Capture One 21.

Dear Kasia, your Capture One tutorials and other tutorials are in my humble opinion one of the best if not the best on youtube. Thank you!

You are a very accomplished photographer and fortunate, Kasia, to have to go back ten whole years to find these less-than-perfect images, in order to teach something and help inspire those of us for whom such images represent much, if not the bulk, of more recent work. I only have to go back two or three days (no, only just yesterday in fact). Unfortunately, however, in my case and unlike yours, words like 'creative' and 'painterly' or 'soft' are euphemisms. Thank you anyway for them; they may help me to sustain my denial a while longer and stay positive. ;)

Randall you are too harsh on your own work, I'll just take these remarks as your usual, brilliant, ironic way of expression. Now it's a high time to reply to your email, been delaying too long... :)

@@KasiaZmokla No rush there, Kasia; I'm about to be wheels up again and heading north, but don't plan to cross over to the other side before June. So I have two months, six Mexican states to cross, and at least a dozen stops along the way (a dozen new towns = dozen new Sessions :). Radio silence, then, until I'm reestablished somewhere and, with any luck, have a decent connection. If not, well, then I can look forward to all those upcoming videos that will have accumulated. For now, only thinking about the white sand and turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico, as my initial route will mostly follow the coast, at least for a month or so, before I swing inland again from Veracruz and cross the vast northern expanse of high desert. :)

I like the combined use of rgb and luma adjustments to edit this image.

    Beautiful experiment en result.
I am realy interested in the considerations of using grain in Landscape color and black and white images.

No need to experiment, Ruud, just use a higher ISO, end up underexposing everything regardless, and be forced to raise the shadows and blacks like me. You'll have sufficient 'grain' already, no worries. LOL ;P
