This is so gross!! I've never seen anything like this before. My brother had an Atari 2600..then it got passed down to me, when he the Nintendo-we never had a problem like this!! Not with bugs. Shouldnt ever try devices in that state,it could damage it. Next time use tartaric acid to remove rust,mix it with water,let the parts inside the mixture and check after some hours or leave it from one day to the other.removes all rust from metal.

No way on this earth the guy who owned this console has a clean home. For that build up you have to be really minging, knowing they are in there and not seeing to that shows the lack of care. Does not matter if your building or home is prone to cockroaches 🪳 you should always open up any places were infestations can take place and deal with it.

I had an infestation of ants in my xbox 360 one winter and I took it apart to clean it and every single ant was alive and there was even other dead bugs in there like spiders and cockroaches I even saw some stink bugs That still haunts my nightmares..

If any of the electronic components the Xbox wasn't fried or messed up before you started spraying it cause of the roaches then they probably are by the time you got finished with it if it worked afterwards then it is a miracle

WD40 is a water dispersant, not a protectant. After application, it attracts dust and dirt. It is also not a very good lubricant, but try telling other people that. I would have recommended replating the metal parts with nickel; it would have protected them much better.
