do you need the brn 180 lower or can you use a normal ar lower for this upper?
Bought the st over the xl because I hate red dots that are larger than 3 moa. They are just too big and unnecessary imo.
The PSD is the better version of this gun, it has a solid use case. It'd makes a good trail gun to carry on long hikes in places that MIGHT have mean things that travel on 2 legs AND 4. Lugging along a long-gun in the highly unlikely chance you need it is just bulk and weight. I think it'd also make a fine option as a woodland hunting pistol, if that's your thing. That's not me, but some people like it. But the C version, I don't know. Sure, it's a little more compact for daily carrying, but not dramatically more compact, and the use case for most people, probably isn't there. Think about what the typically daily carry gun might need to do. Does this fill the bill? Sure, but there are better guns for this use case. As pointed out, my biggest concern should a bad situation get "badder," is worrying about what might be behind my target. The potential of hurting someone who I don't want to be hurt is always a concern. This round at self-defense ranges just adds one more variable to that equation. Can I know what might be hidden from sight behind him? That's more of a concern to me than worrying about whether the bad guy has body armor on.
Man, people really will do anything Other than making a gun in 7.62x25 tokarev 😔😔😔😔😔
Why does this remind me of the Unity from Cyberpunk 2077...
It really does!
1301s seem cool, was thinking of getting one just to have a second semi auto 12ga. But my 11733 has never had an issue. Thanks for making that incident known - hard pass.
All guns break after enough use lol
Is this out or for sale?
This is indeed available
How’s the accuracy with the red dot?
It was average for a pistol
@@ARFCOMReviews so is it better close range? 7-25 yards
Only way to make this better is convincing Dimitri to make it full crosshairs instead of the chevron (you can keep the ranging circle just make the crosshairs go thru it with a red dot in the middle)
Wow, the back of that grip looks really sharp cornered!
It's definitely less than ideal
Always interested in improved performance pistol cartridges like the 7.5 FK. Also, there's an interesting 6.5x25 CBJ based on the 9mm case.
I'm interested!
If the cost of ammo comes down, I hope Ruger, PSA, and dare I say Keltec look into more affordable pistols and PDWs.
I have hope with it being domestically produced!
The only company’s that would be bold enough to give us PCC / PDW IN 7.5fk would be CMMG and Palmetto Armory. I would love one if it really does defeat body armor.
Maybe Kel Tec? Either way I want to see one!
🇺🇸
Hello brother!
Anyone remember .357 Sig? How about .45 GAP? What we are seeing here is a continuation of the explosion of calibers and gadgets in the gun world. If you are firearms RUclipsr, this is like mana from heaven. The problem is that it is all kind of silly. If you are concerned about self-defense, or a SHTF scenario, this is all irrelevant. For the latter, specifically, you want something tried, true and widely available. That means military and police type arms and ammo. A corollary to that is parts and accessory availability, including the most important, magazines.
357 sig is much closer. 45 GAP is not even close 🤣🤣🤣
Forget PCC's I want RCP's! This reminds me of the .224 BOZ back in the 90's.
Honestly, I'd rather see a pistol sized version of the 8.6 blackout concept (high twist rate, subsonic focused).
I can see where you're coming from, but you could get this to be much more compact and in the long run likely cheaper per round
@@ARFCOMReviews Oh not 8.6 actual, just the concept of high energy via rotational energy with low velocity and high (fragmenting) mass. Excellent terminal ballistic results and significantly limited over penetration through off-target barriers, similar to the best parts of .223/5.56 without the concussive blast. Agreed that even .338 Spectre or .338 ARC is too long, and we'd probably want a straight wall case design to maximize the thrust surface. So probably some variant of 10mm or .45 Super cut down to minimize case volume. The two main problems, as I see it are: 1. Finding pure copper bullets short and heavy enough. 2. Generating sufficient force for it to reliably hit maximum subsonic velocity in a 4"-5" barrel without excessive unburned power. Ideally, not resorting to semi-exotic solutions (steel hybrid or all steel cases). Stick a short (1 or 2 baffle) whisper pickle and brace chassis and you'd have a very practical PCC for people not in a proper war zone.
7.5FK would be nasty as a hollow-point...
Yeah, it is definitely on another teir of lethality for a pistol cartridge
They advertised a light hp (I think 95 gr) when the OG FK Brno came out. Think it was over 2200 fps out of the longer barrel
A 100 yrd hit with a defensive pistol is a hard sell as a s'elf-defense' shoot in a court room. Not impossible, just improbable.
1000%, we were just testing it for the sake of the review
I'd love to see a Beretta PX4 full size in 7.5FK.
😮 this would be kinda hot
The 7.5 FK is what the 5.7 wants to be when it grows up.
1000%
Mortaring shots at 100yards with .45acp? BS, I have shot my 1911 5” out to 90 yards and it doesn’t drop that much. (I no longer own a .45 but still hearing this… dude is exaggerating big time)
You are easily holding over the target by a foot or so (on a 5in 1911) I know because we tried during the same range session
Pre ordered mine last year still hasnt shipped.
Noooooooo
a
How does it compare to 10mm (in round count per mag and terminal ballistics)?
It's pretty close in rounds per mag and WAY out performs 10mm in terminal ballistics
Finally! A true replacement for 30 carbine! Edit: PDWs get a bad rap due to the limitations of the 9mm round. 9mm is pretty darn useful in handguns, suppressed guns, and being a cost effective round. But pretending you will reach out and tap something at 200 yds is kinda a bad idea. But there is decent reason to have something that can do that: when you dont have the legal ability to own a banned rifle platform. Something like this in a m1 carbine or ruger mini 14 type chassis would be a life saver for people who want something small, relatively innocuous, but packs more punch without being harder to shoot, and not having an aggressive defensive posture. Better yet, its less intimidating than a shotgun while being more ergonomic to novice gun owners who want something a bit easier to handle and confidence inspiring than their handgun. The only downside is that it would SUCK to suppress. The speed is key to its performance and i doubt subsonic loads would retain the ballistic advantages for nearly as far. Also, someone PLEASE make a version of this that accepts 357 moulds. Would be a bit of a bear to shoot in such a small package, but damn, you could probably make it a truck gun to take out small to maybe even medium game in a pinch, as long as you were close enough.
The fullsize PSD already has a detachable brace option for doing PDW things, just needs somewhere better to put your supporting hand.
Yeah and it's also a billion dollars. I want a full on PDW
They make a folding stock for the PSD for $495, but FK says it will make it an SBR according to the ATF
6x28mm, wider case than 5.7 for more power. This round is too heavy, the gun recoils too much. This will never catch on
This gun is about the same as a 45 🤣 I don't often accuse people of being recoil sensitive, but this is not in the realm of "heavy recoil"
@ Vof always wins, especially twenty feet away from eachother with handhuns. 3rds/second always beats 1rd/second, doesn’t matter what caliber. Any real department where shootings are common they carry nine, and one day they’ll be carrying something even smaller but it won’t be some double magnum space blaster like this shit. This will NEVER catch on. Smaller bore advanced pistol cartridges will become the standard but 7.5 is dog shit and will never be taken seriously, dummy
If the dimensions are comparable, I bet this'd do nice feeding a Kriss Vector
Appreciate all of the info on this. I’ve had my eye on the SCS-320 for some time now.
Well I'm glad we could accommodate your needs 😁
Soooo. Maybe a Laugo Alien 6in in 7.5FK? Or i would take a STizon in 7.5FK
We need to go in the opposite direction 🤣🤣🤣
👍💯👍💯👍💯👍💯👍💯👍💯👍💯👍💯👍💯👍!!!!
Thanks for the love!
Hmmm...random curiousity...I gotta wonder if these cartridges would fit and fire decently from My Zastava M57. It's already using the usial FMJ 7.62×25 czech milsurp...again, hmmmm...
SOMEONE NEEDS TO MAKE IT HAPPEN!
Sgt Barnes is the pits. Team Elias for life
Based comment
45AARP😂😂😅
I say it will full respect 😅
You guys didn't mention why most people would really want one of these... besides just one upmanship, the biggest practical reason is for carry in grizzly or polar bear country, one of the only applications that really needs both massive penetration and energy delivered to the target. A small pdw with a 9" bbl, no stock or brace, but front and rear sling mounts under 4bs with a p90 style high cap top mag, would either fit in a holster, or carrying nicely on a sling while still being able to carry a pack and use hiking poles. The extra weight they put under the barrel to compensate for recoil is just dumb, they should use that weight for more bbl llength, and more mag cap with a top mag. Make it ultra low bore axis like the laugo alien too. All that is possible, would be the perfect gun for bear defense excepting longguns, and would also create a gun that would have a lot of cool factor and wider appeal to hunters, and the tacti cool crowd. THe only part that seems like a huge jump is the high cap top mag. That would be cool, but not a dealbreaker to just have normal mags in the grip.
This is a great point!
Would be interesting to see this in a kriss vector and CMMG banshee.
The Kriss is a bit too heavy, but the Bandshee would be dope
@ARFCOMReviews indeed. Although the modification to the upper would be simple, just pull the barrel extinction from the barrel. Then turn down and chamber a 7.5-barrel for the round then install the barrel extinction. The lower would be more challenging because, well, you have to manufacture a new lower to take the magazine.
7.5 fku got me😂
50k PSI handgun rounds aren't common, but are otherwise non-existent in semi-auto handguns. Even the 429DE maxes out at 46Kpsi. In a 10" barrel it runs right at 1800fps & 1900fps (210gr, 240gr). I can't remember what it runs out of a 6" barrel, but about 100 to 120 fps less I think. The point is that typical handgun rounds don't run the pressures necessary to make this gun what it is. I wonder what 357 Sig could have done running 50k psi for instance. (It runs about 40K I think...) I wonder if I cound chamber a Desert Eagle in this caliber... Hmm.
Yeah, 7.5 is a pretty crazy cartridge, I definitely think it has the potential to make PDWs great again
Can't wait for a Highpoint pistol and carbine in this cartridge! (sorry, I just had to!) :D
Was thinking KelTec Sub2000😂🎉
DO IT!
Damn man 30 second now skip ad off rip don’t good start. Let’s hope id have to add to the comment, yep cant watch u anymore you’re ad raping us. Unsubbing
The Content is free, Cameras and Ammo are Expensive. We dont do paid reviews, and we gotta keep the teams family's taken care of, so unfortunately Ads are necessary. Maybe in the future, we could transition to a more audience supported model and do away with ads, but for now, this is what we got.
That's the cost of unbiased information unfortunately. You will be missed fam
Good video. Price is started to tempt me, but all in all I thing I'd go for the longer barrel.
Thanks 😁
I read about a lot of malfunctions on the full size version.
In my personal experience it ran fine with 7 5fk and 10mm I only had issues with the full size when trying to use light 9mm loads. Granted this was back in 2020-2021 and is a sample size of one.
Get the Kel tec engineers more coke we need a weird ass 7.5 PDW stat
DO IT!
Great job PA
Agreed!
I mean sure, it'll defeat IIa, but no one really wears that anymore. The reason it works is mostly due to bullet construction - it's got monolithic copper bullets. Which are naturally much harder than lead. This, in combination with the high velocity, makes it very penetrative. But the compact version loses a lot of that velocity with its shorter barrel compared to the full size. I would not count on it consistently defeating IIIa with the compact.
I think there is also a discussion around it performing better though barriers, but I see where you're coming from
I couldn't care less what 7.5 FK can do when it starts at $1.60 a round.
I am poor to 🥲
should have made it a 1911 trigger, full stop. also civil defense 10mm 60gr at 2400fps, makes this ammo less relevant. they need to fix the trigger and get ammo costs down.. otherwise, for pistol work, 357 mag, 45 winmag, 44mag, works just fine.
It's an equation, when you have to give up that much weight to get that kind of velocity, you lose terminal ballistics. But I'm with you on the trigger
This new round and pistol is the most exciting thing ive seen in a decade. They need to make 7.5fk carbine with a 7.5inch barrel n call it the 7.5FKU 😂. I mean 900ftlb handguns with 9mm capacity and closer to rifle speeds? Yes and thank you! Ide be saying of F##K you to seeing what it can do first hand lol. Im waiting for more people to adapt the 7.5fk if its doing what its doing out a 5inch barrel its probably gonna be a pretty fast powerfull round out of pcc or sbrs with 7 to 10inch barrels. I mean 900ftlb already only a couple hundred ftlb less than 556, a little more barrel length and you could have a pistol caliber sized package with pistol sized caliber recoil thats putting out full sized 556 rifle power which is really cool. Heck ide say theres a chance that 7.5fk out a 12 or 13inch barrel would be putting out more power than 556 out the same barrel length which is a hell of alot of energy in a pistol caliber
While I'm glad that it exists, I don't foresee it capturing too many hearts and minds. Offering it in tandem with a 10mm barrel helps some justification, but 7.5FK will probably end up in the same lot as 9x25 Dillon, a niche round that can zip a 9mm projectile to lower end rifle speed but never took the market like it could have. There's a precious few manufacturers making either conversions for 10mm AR parts or 10mm PDWs that would be more easily converted with the right support, but man, ammo prices are everything with wildcat calibers on whether a good idea gets legs or relegated to fun range cannon/safe queen.
It's definitely a possibility
