@@linhtet9279 if it’s a damn good AK, then that’s still not great, but if it’s on par with like a rifle dynamics then it’s not terrible pricing. If it’s just serviceable then it’s unacceptable. I thought the Serbian AK company was already making something like this sub 2000
Pretty sure Palmetto State Armory, for the most part, released this same design a year and a half - 2 years ago.

Actually a design not same there’s differences in design and look. We checked with our patent.
Definitive Arms also made a STANAG magazine adapter for the AKM platform 10 years ago, and offered complete Saiga, then VEPR conversions with the magwells installed, and they also offered AR-10 style adapters for .308 VEPRS.
The main difference between Syndicus and PSA is PSA's STANAG AKs are not standard AKM receivers with an adapter - they re-designed them to use STANAGs exclusively. I handled one at NRAAM 2018, and they opted to hold them back a year to re-engineer some features.
I don't really see this as infringing on anything PSA has done, as there's so much prior art on STANAG magazine AKs that the concept is in the public domain, so it's up to the market to decide.
And as for the comment about Nighthawk having no trouble selling multi kilobuck 1911s, that's true. But Nighthawk has also been in business for 20+ years and has a well established track record for product quality and customer service. This is the first time I've heard of Syndicus, and I wouldn't be putting $3500 down for a basic 5.56/.223 AKM for the sole reason that it accepts STANAG/PMAGS. If I want a 5.56 AK that takes STANAG magazines, there's already PSA and IWI with the 5.56 Galil Ace, both of which are WELL below $3500 and established track records.

The AK is supposed to be cheaper. We now have AKs more than the total cost of a kitted out BCM.
You’re talking about military mass production versions. The same principle exists for M4A1’s, it costs the Military $654, but costs us upwards of 1K. Same principle.
The old aks were build with Soviet slave labor so yeah of course prices went up.

lol value vs cost is a thing tho. Also stamped recievers are supposed to be cheaper to produce but due to the small scale compared to AR’s, not so much.

Supercool they were creative with a mag adapter that Zastava did years ago with the m90NP. No one wanted it and so now you have the current m90 with rock and lock mags like an AK should be.

I paid 1,000 for my AK47 from PSA. Have run several thousand rounds with no issues. Aint no way Im paying 3500 for one

This has been done before and the big issue with the others is mag compatibility and feeding

None of them have ever really worked that’s why I’m interested to see if it works better with all mag types and feeding . How many rounds have you put though this and are you going to show the test or do any ?
Your not wrong at all. That was a frustrating issue. This is for Gen 3 pmags Daniel Defense answer generation lancers some Gen 2 pmags and some
NATO. We’ve upgraded the latch to tray and accommodate most popular mags.

62 grey tip super secret military round that a shooter used said ran well for the exception that the coating on the grey caused a malfunction on the feed ramp to not feed correctly. Said happened twice with that round but once he cleaned the ramp no issue
Other than that every other runs fine.
Had to get a better “steel” firing pins other we found out were crap cast runs great now.
At every show we’ve at least put anywhere from 2 to 3000 rounds between two ORIONS at a time, we done a handful of shows this year already. They’ve run really well so far. We did an upgrade and added an adjustable gas block and it ran even smoother once we made that adjustment.
There’s been a lot of work since we’ve been working on it for 2 1/2 years so please any questions ask away. We are in the realm we’re open to insight and feedback.
Unfortunately, because we’re in the state of California we’re are screwed with prices . Yes, we want to be high end, but we are screwed by how much things cost here in California at the same time.
Everything is hand built and put together at warehouse in Fullerton. We try to take our time and build these AK so we’re not gonna sit here and say we’re cranking out by the hundreds but we will pump them out at a good slow pace. We wanted ORION to have a greater Purpose in sport, law enforcement and military setting hence why we made the release a little longer to address this issue with metal magazines.
But by all means we have tons of videos of it being shot. We’ve had a handful of people that have shot it from professional shooters, giving us their opinion and everyday gun loving American shoot ORION and tell us how flat it shoots with no recoil.
PSA has AK’s that take PMAGS for under a $1k.

I drive an old F150 to work, I have the same feeling everytime I pass a Raptor of brand new F250. Maybe I'm poor or they are dumb, it could also be both or neither 🤣

I don't think that was the claim, I'm not sure (I should have asked) if they are using a pre made receiver set or if they are manufacturing it in house

AR mags have been done before, some worked better than others. They weren't really popular because when you buy an AK, it should have rock n lock mags as per original design. It's the most reliable method. If you're slow at mag changes you should practice more.
That is definitely one solution

Just get a IWI Galil Ace in 5.56. Way better features, built like tanks, and take STANAG mags. I own the Gen1 and Gen2 and they both cost less than this.
It definitely an alternative. I'm happy to see more people trying to produce stuff domestically and I am often more willing to pay a bit more if that money can stay state side

Yea…i love aks, my first 3 guns were aks, aks are awesome. Ill take an ar to combat 11/10 times though.
There are pros and cons to both systems, this is a blend of specific features. Purpose drives needs, not everyone's will be the same. Then of course there is preference

Just my opinion but it puts me in mind of an IWI Galil Ace. I like it, However not for no $3.5k. there are "way better offerings" for that much money. such as the Desert Tech WLVRN or the up and coming PSA Platforms and many many others.
I will agree that I'd like to see how this thing performs compared to the aforementioned guns. All of the above are rather niche so they all have that higher price tag, but they do all contribute to the evolution of firearms technology, and for that at least, I am thankful 😊

Depends on the end user needs and wants. This hits a lot of check boxes for folks. AK operating system, piston (doesn't shit where it eats), cheap magazines, cheap ammo, folding stock. I'm not into AK's but it intrigues me.

I got an SLR 95 with milled receiver less then you could get an AR for. The boutique market has risen with the government artificial money printing for wars like supporting the genocidal apartheid state of Isreal or the Ukraine. AKs are now a hard pass at these prices.

@@ARFCOMReviews I have never handled one. From what I remember they had problems, but to be fair lots of Sig/Ruger/Colt/Remington and such firearms have had problems when they first come out.
I think things smoothed out for them after their 3rd gen AKs and I haven't heard many complaints since. But to be fair, most people don't shoot very often

$3,500 🤣🤣🤣 on an AR, other than night vision optics and other such $$$ accessories, if we’re just talking the gun, I duno if I could build one that cost that much. Maybe if I just had to have a knights armament rifle…
There are A TON of PRS rifles, custom handguns, and as you mentioned KA guns that are in that FU money price teir. I can't personally afford 80% of the guns I get to shoot at work but do notice a difference in build quality and performance often times. It's too early to tell if this rifle merits the price, but most people drive Toyota camerys and Honda civics for a reason lol

It depends, we (me included) are cheap people, but when are aren't using slave labor and not getting Surplus parts, stuff tends to be more expensive

There are a lot of companies that sell stuff like night vision everyday that cost WAY more. I am poor so I rock PSA stuff just like most people, but budget is a realitve term
@@ARFCOMReviews it’s not about cost as a total, it’s a cost per item. I bought 10k NODs but wouldn’t pay 1k on a pair of shoes. It’s a basic business principle to do proper market research to see what the market will pay for your product and if you can make that happen.
