    Looks like standard entry level rifle with the price jacked up. Personally I would rather have a Anderson with a Faxon barrel or 18" SPR barrel from Ballistic Advantage or a nice SOCOM barrel. I've been gunsmithing for 30 years now and built a lot of slicked up sleeper's just to make the Brand faags cry on the range.

    for almost $1500 having some lefty friendly bits like ambi controls and tunable/adjustable gas block shouldn't be difficult to do. I'm not a fan of the magpul stock but that's a preference thing. I also haven't shot enough 1:8 to know if it handles heavier projectiles decently enough. 2 MOA is fine for mil-spec, but for a rifle over a grand I would expect better, there are plenty of chrome vanadium barrels that can do that. My train of thought is if I can build better for under 1k, why bother on this one?

      @@ARFCOMReviews TBH it doesn't seem like a good "budget" rifle, I think their target audience is people who want to say they have a nemo, but don't want to spend 4K on a rifle, and aren't familiar enough with ARs to know better than to purchase this one.

      Exactly. I could do much better than this with a $200 budget. I could machine something better with that and still sell it for less, AND it would be more accurate in every way. What a joke.

    Some notes that I see. the Comp is the 2A Armament T3 variety now by NEMO. It can accept any suppressor that will go on an A2 (HALO) Griffin A2 adaptor Etc. The rail is also an adaptation of the BALIOS-lite rail (BL Rail and the likes.) Does the bolt catch and rear TD pin have screw in capture? or is it pinned? If screw that makes it an easy upgrade there if someone wanted to go to a forward controls or similar.

    • @ARFCOMReviews
      @ARFCOMReviews  2 месяца назад

      I didn't know that about the Griffin can! That is super cool!
      I don't remember if the bolt catch was pinned or not (we had to send it back after T&E) but I'm sure an owner should be able to answer that hopefully 😊

    It's an $800 rifle with a $1500 price tag. Hell, I could source parts and build it for under $500 paying retail for every part.
    But I've never bought a complete AR. Ever.

    • @ARFCOMReviews
      @ARFCOMReviews  2 месяца назад

      This is definitely WAY less appealing to the builders out there

    • @sheldoniusRex
      @sheldoniusRex 2 месяца назад

      @@ARFCOMReviews yeah. It's like there are two distinct cultures of people in the gun community. Diy guys with as much money in tools as in guns, and brand chasers who expect to never have to turn a wrench on something they bought. I guess if I was dropping $1500 on a rifle I'd expect to never have to do anything to make it run, too. But I get almost as much enjoyment from the build process as I do from owning/shooting the gun.

      I've been buying Bear Creek Arsenal stuff for a few years and can't squawk about quality. 3 of my .223's are Wyldes. One's a 10.5" pistol, #2 is a Bearclaw, which is nitride stainless with a spiral cut. And the third is a SOCOM stainless. A 4th is a .450 Bushmaster and #5 is a .308. All except the AR10 were less than $400.00. The AR10 was under 6. All run great and are tight shooting. Since they are milled receivers they look sharp too. My son-in-law bought a $1600.00 Daniel Defense that failed on round #3. I didn't have to say anything. But, I did have a hard time keeping a straight face.
      Sounds like you are like me. I've been tinkering on guns for 50 years. I've had all mine apart to polish the triggers and other upgrades. I reload, so I have no ammo shortages except for my .450 BM. I only have 150 rounds loaded for that one. I lost track of my .223's. Pretty sure I have 2000 per rifle or more. I only have one other rifle with less ammo and that's my 1898 Krag. Maybe 100.

      If you think building your own AR 15 for $500 then you aren't getting much in quality parts and that barrel is going to be iffy for accuracy.
      I have 25-year building and selling custom rifles and I build and sell AR 15 & AR 10 uppers in noncommercial chamberings.
      My barrels I have Pac Nor barreling make for me when done and ready to install into the upper receiver I have 1000 dollars into ever barrel
      AR Stoned and KAK industries have the best low dollar barrels but those are going to be some 200 dollars unless on sale?
      If you actually have done a complete AR for $500 using a quality barrel then pat yourself on the back for being a Thrifty kind of guy.
      If you should want a new upper in 17 Rem - 6mmx45 or the Nazi German 7,93x33 Kurz I build them to sell.

    • @sheldoniusRex
      @sheldoniusRex 2 месяца назад

      @lurebenson7722 I have no evidence that this ar uses a barrel any better than Faxon or Ballistic Advantage, both of which retail north of 150 but I have bought a few on sale for 99 buckaroos from PA or PSA. Of course turning, reaming, and lapping a custom barrel from Lothar or whatever would make a more accurate rifle. I'm not arguing a guy can't build a better rifle. I'm saying these guys didn't. Yes, their build and QA process is worth a few hundo, but that's why I said this is an $800 gun.

    How does the handguard interface with the barrel nut and what buffer setup did they ship with? 2.5 moa is honestly fine, but the QPQ 416R barrel should have done better IMHO. For that money I'd scoop up a sale/blem URGI or a SOLGW.

    • @ARFCOMReviews
      @ARFCOMReviews  2 месяца назад +1

      It has 4 screws (two at the 3 and 9 o'clock) that screw in at an angle away from the receiver. As they get screwed in, they make contact with the barrel nut and jam the handguard into the upper receiver leveraging off the barrel nut. That's the best way I can describe it in words 😅

      @ARFCOMReviews makes sense to me. That's gonna be more stable than a clamp style but I'm with you, that needs some sort of anti rotation.

    Rather have a PSA lower with Geissele internals and Geissele/BCM A5 buffer system, along with an Expo Arms upper: complete with CMT-made Expo Arms rail and Rosco-made Expo Arms 4150 CMV, Chrome lined barrel, FCD-made Expo Arms keymo muzzle devices.... and Microbest-made Expo Arms Hard Chrome BCG.
    That would be less than $1000 and you are getting a way better build. Expo Arms/Primary Arms customer service is WAY better to deal with, too.
    Spend a bit more on a Griffin Agreement MK2 Ambi lower and build it out with Geissele internals, and you got a $1300 Ambidextrous rifle for less than $900.

    • @ARFCOMReviews

      You can always build cheaper than buy outright

    • @Omaba_Baba
      @Omaba_Baba 2 месяца назад

      @@ARFCOMReviews It's not just cheaper. I could buy a PSA Sabre lower or BCM MK2 lower and Expo Arms upper + BCG and have a better rifle for less. Buying a lower and upper separately isnt really building a rifle. Not amongst us 2A folks - we're not considering Fudds.
      That's just so much money for a mediocre rifle.
      An LWRC complete DI rifle goes for $1200 street price.
      Nemo needs to know, and the market will definitely tell them, this is just no good and not okay.

    So the Nemo is whatever.
    But question you put your light on the left side of the rail, and your running it with just a tail cap, if you had a sling with that set up where would it (QD Socket) go?
    I have a few pistol lights, and just got my first longun (misspelled on purpose YT really coming down on me lately can't say the "fun" word) anywho got a cloud defensive Reign 3.0 for my "ARF" and haven't mounted it yet.
    Just kinda checking out everyone's set up before I commit to anything.
    Plus I take that thing hiking at night when I walk the dog, and man is fun to play with.

    • @ARFCOMReviews
      @ARFCOMReviews  2 месяца назад +1

      I have run a sling mount at the 6 o'clock in line with the light and used it as a indexing point for my pointer finger when C clamping OR I've seen some guys run it as far back as possible at the 9 o'clock to get it out of the way. Dealers choice of course 😊

    Two things said here aren't true with Chrome lined barrels the Chrome lining is only for prevent of corrosion from Corrosive ammo the Chrome lining has nothing at all to do with barrel wear and Chrome lined barrels are far less accurate than non-lined barrels.
    Stainless steel barrels can do what Chrome lined barrels are meant to do is to prevent corrosion from corrosive ammo.
    Stainless Steel barrels are also more resistance to wear than Chrome molly steel barrels.
    The chance of wearing out a barrel in 223 would be someone would need to shoot 1000 rounds a week for years!
    Next lie is 1-9 rate of twist doesn't produce accuracy with 55 grain and heavier bullets just not true.
    I use often when building AR 10 uppers in 220 swift and 22- 243 win the Stainless-steel Pac Nor barreling super match barrels 1-9 twist rate for all bullet weights.
    For 25 years I have been a custom rifle builder to sell upper quality rifles and AR 15 & AR 10 uppers in noncommercial chamberings.
