Bit late to the party on this one but yeah GG!underfell Sans got fucking gutted as a character. I can see why people didn't like how basic and depthless his motivations were originally but shoving in a redemption arc into a character who's whole purpose narratively was to be an amoral piece of shit by retconning his backstory was certainly not the way to correct it. I would have preferred this Sans to stay the simple child killer he was, as not all villains need an explanation as to why they're evil beyond "they want to." But if they HAD to change him, why like this? Why not explore how he got to this point mentally while still fully commiting to his insanity? Then you could maybe at least have a scene with him and Papyrus recollecting about the old Sans. Maybe even hint that he isn't completely changed. I think the thing that offends me most about this shift in direction for the character is how much bite he lost as a villain with the fact he didn't actually kill Susie. Sure, you've still got a murderer but in a universe like Undertale those are fairly common. Him specifically having so much contempt for a child that he crossed a line like that made Gg! Sans feel like much more of a threat instead of being another Diet Dusttale spinoff. alongside that originally it did seem that this Sans genuinely did not care for his brother all too much, another rare trait among AUs, while now at the first thought that he hurt Papyrus bro has a mental breakdown. All in all its just fuckin cheap.

Tbh no matter how far dust gets, Flowey would just YOINK the souls to no diff him or just literally wait till Sans starts getting tired/exhausted in any of the major fights (Undyne, Mettaton, Asgore, or Frisk) and just bullet circle him to his demise. Hell he could do this as early as Papyrus because Sans will definitely be distracted for a moment by his brother’s pleas. Honestly I think a lot of people forget that the biggest challenge for any monster that tries to do an “dusttale” is that you have Flowey to worry about constantly putting a stop to you. He’s killed everyone so many times, he’s done every possible combination, he can enter places that’s outside of our awareness (since he’s a flower, there are definitely different moments/locations/possible fights he’s had than Frisk ever did as a human), and he’s done everything with whatever character to read them like a book. Sans trying to intervene and ruin him and Chara’s “game” would be a big no no to Flowey, and he could actively just make it harder for sans to progress & make it easier for Frisk to. (Would grab some weapons/armor before Sans could, would be able to massacre certain rooms before Sans could, could have actually called Papyrus to make him leave Snowdin for almost any reason as they’re really close before Sans gets there). Honestly the most interesting dusttale would be a full on competition between a human, a flower, and a skeleton of who gets to the end first. One is the unstoppable player, the second is a complete 100% veteran who’s achieved everything, and the third is both a smart strategist & cheater that hax his way up the rankings.

In my mind, the "don't say I didn't warn you" line is one of my favorites. The entire time Sans has been warning the player about having a bad time and what comes next. He's not talking about himself, he's talking about what truly comes next, the erasure of the universe. It recontextualizes his prior words about him giving you a bad time to something way worse. It's such genius foreshadowing

This is just a correction, people who use neutral pronouns don't just use just they but they/them and other words that accompany the pronouns also change so the sentence is easier to read and less awkward.

At least they're better than MatPat's "Sans is Ness" theory. I know Toby is an Earthbound fan and all, but Earthbound and Undertale have NO correlations to each other whatsoever. Sans' secret lab's secrets could be up to interpretation for all I know.

In my opinion, "Determination color is actually yellow" is a purely idiotic theory. Its only confirmation is the word "determination" often being colored as yellow in dialogue boxes, and the save star being yellow. Save star being yellow - design choice, nothing more. Would be weird to see a red star after all. Yellow determination in text? Every important mentions are colored yellow, for example characters when referring to Asgore, his name would be colored Yellow, sometimes red aswell but only when Toriel mentions him, setting the accent on his name. And more to that - 6/7 souls have correct colors, but the only soul, being determination, does not match with its soul color. Other humans having determination too, but just decided to give up. Backed up by what? By Asgore sadly nodding when you tell him about dying to his hands. Literally, we are a Child in a deathmatch, fighting the king of the monsters, he just does so to calm us down, the same way he was talking about dentists before the fight, not actually understanding that we are being serious about it. For DT Extraction experiments - determination could be harnessed from Chara's soul before their death.

No but really, just put yourself in larry's shoes for a second. Some KID is killing everybody, with an absurdly GOD like powers and somehow always able to evade most attacks no matter how hard and complicated they are, you and your friend are desperately trying to fight the kid back only to be on the verge of dying from like two hits each one. And only for the kid to take it way further than just a kill, pushing your already dying friend off a cliff just because they could. You try to catch him, but you fail and freeze as a sickening THUMP is hear. Silence. Not even a laugh, ragged breaths or the screams of agony of someone hurt. Just a last scream of terror, and pure silence with a murder on your back, watching you with no expression on their face. Your exposed back to them, your mangled body burning with wounds, and a sense of despair yet resignation. There is no way to escape, you can't win, you lost your friend and the last bit of hope you had to overpower a kid, a KID.

He’s probably(almost definitely) holding back when you fight him, but we have no basis for how strong he actually is. The only evidence supporting the theory that he’s way powerful than people would initially believe is that his sprite doesn’t move(likely a design choice) and Flowey wraps 4 vines around him instead of 2(again, likely a design choice). Sure, it’s *possible* that he’s quite powerful, but we don’t have any definitive evidence that he is. That last sentence was directed at the die-hard fans of that theory. I’m not trying to start an argument, but that theory has some weak points that should be pointed out. Edit: 12:18 What. What are you talking about. When is that implied. I am genuinely confused here, I thought the first subtitle referred to the “Payrus is more powerful than you think” Tumblr theory. (spoilers) I don't like making second comments but when I rebeat the game I think I went a little deeper in La Jupo's personality, like we all see him being really goofy during the battle, but Aranea's words about how it appears when you're desperate about something made me think of how Aranea and La Jupo met, and according to Aranea's words La Jupo was in some kind of depression, and because Aranea knows personalities and thoughts of ones it deals with it said "I'll never make you lose again" which maybe could mean that La Jupo didn't like the situation at all, probably because he was losing all the time, and his determination, which helped him getting back every 300 years wasn't enough, he even thought of retiring(which he said in first phase) but knew that he won't be able to do anything else and it meant that not only C4, but La Jupo was stuck in this loop, too.
