*Engine bay mic malfunctioned and didn't record any sound this session so you hear only the exhaust sound in this video. No setting a new PB today. I wanted to save the tires for my next event so I took it fairly easy. I always wanted to chase a GR Corolla in my Elantra N so I couldn't pass this opportunity up when I saw him in my rear view mirror. Last time I drove my EN at sonoma was back in May of 2022. 1:54.31 from catalyst 1:54.11 from car's built-in lap timer. Haha. I went from the EN to the GRC too, and while I love the GRC, I find myself thinking how hugely impressive the EN was. Both are fantastic cars.
Which one would you have kept for daily driver with the family?
@ I bought both specifically because I needed a daily with kids. My goal was to get a car that was fun, autocross able, and able to get the family around when needed. If I wanted something more family friendly, I would pick the EN, just because it has so much more space. The GRC is fun though, and I currently want something that is fun, and only part time family friendly.

I love seeing your improvement event after event! Amazing and clean driving. You are making me very tempted to track the GRC LOL Your audio + video is top notch! Do you have any plans to add telemetry to your videos?
Thanks, man! I know you said your grc is a road trip car but you should definitely try tracking it one day! I've been thinking about adding a telemetry but the instruction I got from a fellow N driver seemed pretty complicated. Are you simply running an obd2 adapter and use race render app to get your telemetry?
Car sounds great. Are you running an intake or do you have a mic in the engine bay?
Everything inside the engine bay is still stock (I just received some parts so I will have some upgrades for next season 😊) Yes, I had a rode lavalier mounted on the stock airbox to get the induction sound in this video.

How do you get your GoPros to sink up so well? Do you have to do it manually while editing or do you have a way to start them all at the same time?
If you watch 0:25 I'm wearing a gopro remote on my left wrist which syncs up all 4 gopros and I can start/stop recording them at the same time.

Does 2nd to 3rd ever grind for you on track? Took ours for the first time to T hill and was grinding at times to 3rd.
No, mine doesn't grind at all. Have you changed your gear oil yet? That might help.
@elantran have not actually, does that help? What do you use? Though, when searching it up, this seems to be a known issue when shifting somewhat quick at higher RPMs.
@@brandonvazquez7640 I've seen people saying changing out the stock gear oil helped with grinding. I used Red Line MT-LV 70W/75W GL-4 Synthetic Gear Oil for mine.

There's really no tech inspections at track days around here. 😅
@@elantran I used to do Sonoma Raceway, Laguna Seca, Buttonwillow, etc on motorcycles, and they checked a lot of stuff back then. When I started you couldn't even have antifreeze in the coolant, but they let up on that over time.

You're definitely taking better lines than the DCT. I'd bet if you switched cars it would be the same outcome.

확실히 dct가 변속이 빠르긴 하네요 ㅎㅎ 근데 가속력은 비슷한거 같습니다...운전자를 바꿔본다면 더 잘 화면에 나오지 않을까도 싶습니다만^^;;;
