iPhone 11 Keeps Restarting - When the "Typical" Issues are NOT the Problem.
In this video I show an iPhone 11 that is stuck with a 3 minute reboot. Specifically, I am seeing "missing sensor: prs0" in the panic log. Most commonly, this issue is resolved by changing the charging port. More rarely, you may find that you have bad resistors around the charging port. Even more rarely, you may have to change either your audio codec IC or your audio amp IC. In this case, none of these were the problem.
This was a water damaged device in for data recovery. When the common solutions do not work, you must look elsewhere. With water damage, you have the luxury of being able to see what components look bad and corroded. When you see ANY resistors that are corroded, that are a...

Salt Water Damage Data Recovery on iPhone 12 Pro Max - Motherboard Diagnosis & Repair Demonstration
Просмотров 1,5 тыс.7 часов назад
In this video I attempt to recover data from an iPhone 12 Pro Max that was damaged by salt water. I show the full diagnostic process from start to finish and they steps I take to repair this motherboard. This job had a few surprises for me and I go over some important concepts when dealing with water damage data recovery. I find a NAND short, MAIN short, and shorted display and touch ICs. I tou...

Flat Dead iPhone 14 Pro Max Data Recovery - Misdiagnosing for 25 minutes straight.

I show the process I take when working with a dead iPhone board. The majority of this video are the steps that will solve 99% of iPhones that will not turn on, so I think it is still worth showing. However, in this case my standard routine did not solve the problem. It is important to have a SOP when working with dead boards and because I ran into this problem, I can add one more thing to check...
How to fix iPhone SE 2 that keeps rebooting & has 'no touch'
Просмотров 1,6 тыс.Месяц назад
I show the process of fixing an iPhone se 2 that either has no touch function, keeps restarting, or both. This is caused by flexion on the board that breaks the voltage lines within the layers of the motherboard. The solution is to add jumper wires to manually reconnect the broken traces. This is a common problem on this model and shows up frequently. However, being a relatively old model, I am...
iPhone Data Recovery Live Diagnosis & Motherboard Repair - How to Solve Looping DCPS Amp Draws
Просмотров 3,4 тыс.2 месяца назад
In this video I show my process for figuring out how to bring a dead iPhone motherboard back to life when it shows a looping amperage draw from a DC power supply. It is common for technicians to resort to a full CPU Swap when they see problems they are unfamiliar with and unsure how to solve. However, that technique can be risky or at worst, especially at the hands of an amateur, detrimental to...

The data board chips are then removed, re...
Diagnosing "No Power" on an iPhone 12 Pro: Real-Time Troubleshooting

In this video I show my typical procedure while dealing with an iPhone 12 Pro that has spontaneously stopped working and has developed a motherboard problem. It is good to have a plan of action for each type of problem you encounter. My first step is always to check the DC power supply amperage draw before and after prompt to boot. In this case, I see small amperage spikes after prompting the b...
Advanced Data Recovery for Broken iPhone 13 Pro - Motherboard Troubleshooting and Repair

This video will showcase several different motherboard repair skills. First I identify that there is a short on the motherboard, causing no power. Hey Aaron, Great video as always! Those are pull-up resistors on the i2c line. Devices connected on that line will not be able to communicate if those are missing as the line will never be pulled up. Although prs0 is an analogue sensor itself, it is being interfaced digitally by a chip on the flex and needs to communicate using the i2c line with the cpu

Beautiful video! very interesting case! thank you for sharin Aaron, ice job! about pp1V8_IO, any idea why when shorted somewhere can makes eeprom to get hot on thermal camera even if it is good? theorically its not a coil, so voltage just "touch" it but not go through it..why getting hot? i read it always get hot in the initial boot sequence. Maybe, due to the 1.8 shorted somewhere else can keep eeprom active in that state? thank you so much!

Hello Aaron, Great Work. I want to ask, you made a backup with the smart switch to a pc right? In cases that the charging lines are really bad what case you think it woud be the best? Make a backup to other Samsung phone with smart switch like with wifi? I had a case that the phone was terrible and i was able to make it work but not charge and i did everything manually to Drive and stuff like that. I did not had another samsung to do a smart switch. I was wondering if that woud have been the best option. Cheers
