How to Fix iPhone 15 Pro 'Touchscreen Not Working' & 'Not Charging'

- Edit: This problem is more likely caused by EEPROM corruption from OTA Apple updates rather then bad USB-C chargers. The pieces are still being put together to form the full picture.
In this video I demonstrate how USB-C aftermarket cables are damaging the iPhone 15 Pro & Pro Max and how to fix the issue. If you are a board tech, this is MUST KNOW info.
It has been found that the charging ic is paired to another chip. If you change the charging ic alone, the phone will not be fixed. You must change both chips in order to return touch and charging function.
The government has mandated that cell phones must be USB-C by 2024, but apple only has limited experience with USB-C. The iPhone 15 series will likely be a testament as to what happens as a result.
I expect to see damage the likes of audio ic and touch disease. I think it will be rampant.

I believe Rewa were the first ones pointing out the chips are paired. They are similar with cd3217 that you find on newer macs

Hi from Iran. Very useful video. Great job Aaron. I heard if you want to change the charging port there is a chip on flex which should be replace with new one on the new charging port to connect PC.
My customer provided me with the incorrect pin, so I am waiting for that before I connect to the PC. I will check to see if it can connect with multiple charging ports or not. I'll come back and update here once I do.

You have to pull from a donor board or the two chips won't be paired to each other and they won't work

I have several questions if I can ask
1. I seen that there is no overfill (glue) on the board of the 15 and no underfill under the chip. Since when it is gone ? I think it is there on 12
2. what is the purpose of this 8 leg strange chip on the board, except for been pairing to the charging IC ?
3. This is a problem with all android cables, or only with a cheap ones that do not have a 70 ohm resistor or other overcharge protection ?
1. There can be varying amounts of underfill depending on the manufacturer that made it. This chip has no underfill, but it may sometimes. I think usually it does not. But pmic and cpu still have normal underfill.
2. I don't know yet, it might be exclusively for encryption.
3. I also don't know, but most likely just with cheap ones.
Aaron how would you deal with a "0% remaining" on this very model when charging? I've tried several things; Data lines diode values are all ok. Changed charging ice. Tried another housing but the problem still persists
Does it have any amp draw on ammeter? Did you change the paired eeprom with the charging IC? If not, you may also have to do a restore.

No, as far as I know you cannot mismatch and must use the exact same model. 15 pro max can only use 15 pro max, not 15 pro.
Reminds me of the tri star problem from a few years ago.
Are they still paired together. Or apple fixed it with an update .
