Advanced Data Recovery for Broken iPhone 13 Pro - Motherboard Troubleshooting and Repair

- This video will showcase several different motherboard repair skills. First I identify that there is a short on the motherboard, causing no power. I measure the most common lines first (main and boost) to find they are not the culprit. I split the motherboard interposer (sandwich) to expose all the components and determine the PMIC is the cause of the amp draw before prompt to boot (the problem). This is seen with the help of freeze spray and voltage injection.
The PMIC removal is done with great technique. If you struggle with underfilled chips, pay close attention that part.
I had no replacement PMIC's in stock, so you will also see how I harvest a donor iPhone 13 Pro PMIC from a donor motherboard and reball it. This requires careful work. The PMIC is very delicate so it is quite difficult to pull and clean it without damaging it.

Thanks bro!
Great video Aaron!
It is interesting to see different technicians using different techniques to deliver same results. This is for all people asking about what temps you use to do this and that. It’s all about the feel and all about what suits you as a technician. BTW: I had a 13 pro with the pmic cracked the same as yours
Thanks buddy! I agree, temps don't matter because it is unique and individual for each person, and mostly based on feel.
@@iBoardRepairhey there so I got an iphone11 back light issue was wondering if you have a store I can sent it to fix or if you can for me by any chance ??

Is the schematic for the iPhone 13 Pro the same as the iPhone 11, where the V batt and VDD Main directly or is it different like the generation 7 plus, 8 plus or x, the V batt and VDD Main separately after passing through the Mosfet? Thank you sir
Hey Aaron, are you worried about the damage that resin or flux will affect you? I think over a long period it affects your sinuses. I can't see your entire setup but I hope your lungs are ok! Thanks for the videos
At this point I have a fume extractor that pumps it right out the window, but I haven't always had such a good setup! You can see the black vent under the microscope.
Looks like on my iPhone SE 3 the PMIC has shorted caps around it, and some have been removed already (bought it as faulty) There can't possibly missing caps this close to the PMIC from factory right ?
My phone does work but heats up around that area, and I've got to sound, no mic, no charging, and no taptic engine. Kinda sounds like a miracle that it even boots up
thing you, please make a new how to read schematic diagram any iPhone basic to advanced and explain circuit net names.❤❤
Hey Aaron, I have an iPhone 13 pro max that’s not powering or charging, I can’t get it fixed here as it’s a motherboard issue , any way I can get it over to you for fixing? I’m in Ghana
I have a iPhone 11 pro max and it’s nand is cracked, is it possible to recover the data?
Hey bro what about android i haven't seen you repairing android devices
