What does the pain feel like? I’ve received an MRI report from the radiologist that says I have adhesive arachnoiditis. I’ve tried to address this with my neurosurgeon but he has repeatedly gaslit me everytime I asked him to address it. I’m in horrible pain and it’s beginning to spread to my other leg and genital region. I strongly believe I am symptomatic due to this condition but I’m wondering if there is any distinction in symptoms from sciatica. I’m trying to tell the difference between the two.

I have burning pain, muscle spasms and cramps, my back will seize up and my left leg from the knee down is numb, my right from the knee down is desensitized, and my right arm is starting to lose sensations as well. I have sciatica pain when standing, too, it will burn from my butt to my ankle.

I am right now trying acupuncture. Though my insurance doesn't cover it, my insurance does cover the provider who is giving me the acupuncture treatments. So I may end up getting a discount. Not sure if this is going to be a long-term help but I'm giving it a try it which was strongly recommended by my primary care physician as this doctor who specializes in it is in her practice. I do have some money set aside that even if my insurance doesn't cover it I will for a while be able to go to these appointments. I've only been to two so I can't say for sure it's helping yet. But she has been able to short-circuit and Target some of my migraines when I've been in her office these last two times. I went today for my second visit.

@@bonitabradley8213 update on the acupuncture, unfortunately I had to stop the treatments. It was making me worse. Now the pain in my wrist that was occasional is almost always. And it really triggered a lot of the other pains in my body that had kind of been dormant for a bit. It actually made me feel worse. So I told my husband I can't do it anymore so that was the end of that but at least I gave it a try. Cuz my husband had been wanting me to try acupuncture.

    • @nancysaffield5337
      @nancysaffield5337 Месяц назад

Acupuncture did not go well. Caused much more pain. Issues that had been dormant for a while resurfaced again. Actually caused wrist pain that I was only having occasionally, now almost daily. This was only after 2 sessions. I canceled any further treatments since I only had one for this week. I should be receiving an explanation of benefits from my insurance company, though acupuncture was not covered under my policy the provider who did the treatments was covered so I'm curious whether I will end up getting any kind of discount or have to pay the entire amount out of my pocket. If I do have to pay the entire amount it will be almost $200 just for two visits. Maybe it would work for others with fibromyalgia, but it didn't work for me.

So sorry. I had a Myelgram last Friday. I have multiple lumbar issues as usual. However there was something new on the report. Chronic Adhesive arachnoidiitis. I’m like what the hell is that. Apparently the leg weakness and bladder issues are being caused by AA. Monday my urologist was ruling out my bladder as the problem. He gets the scope is and what do we see? A blob of bladder cancer. So over two days I find out about my AA and bladder cancer. My brain is swimming. I’m not sure what to worry about first. I have surgery the 28th to remove the tumor. I still haven’t heard from my neurosurgeon about my spine issues. I’m so confused. Take care

I am so sorry for the news but glad the cancer was found. I am 2 1/2 years into my AA diagnosis. We can support each other through the changes. God Bless.

Do you know if adhesive arachnoditis is a disability.

I believe it if it makes you unable to work but that would have to be proven. I have not tried to apply.

I just try to get up move around and stretch. Each moment doesn't mean the next is the same in this condition. I just keep trying things until something helps.

I take alprazalom. Is that similar to amytripiln. Does gabepentin help you. It doesn't me. 90 milligrams of cymbalto doesn't work for me. It makes me nauseated and stomach pain. I'm cutting back. What's your opinion. Thanks hun

Gabepentin made me confused and didn't help with the pain. Cymbalta didn't help either. Alprazalom is for anxiety but maybe it has a side effect to help with pain. That is what amitriptyline does is help with pain but is originally for depression.

I HATE the gaslighting and lying they do. They cause this most of the time and blame it on us or just act stupid about it as if they're dumbfounded.

The Dr. acted like it was something that happens once in a while like it was my body's reaction. I researched it and found out he caused it and was outraged.

@bonitabradley8213 I can't even imagine what you go through and the anger you must have not only towards the Dr but also for the grief of losing your old life. I have severe scoliosis and was fused at 15 years old. I'm now 27. Thankfully I'm protected from epidurals because my scar line from spinal fusion is too long so nobody will attempt it. However my surgery failed and I'm now in chronic pain 24/7 and cannot move my back. I'm sitting at a 7 - 8 of 10 on a pain scale daily. Flares are a 10. My surgeon lied to myself and my mum and said I'd be worse if I didn't get it.

I noticed that when I don’t take omega 3. I hurt. I also take collagen powder daily and use bone broth as well. I’ve heard great things about serrapeptase. Also listening to videos from dr Mandel the motivationaldoc and Dr. Berg has been helpful. Oh yes and I’ve heard fasting works really great as well

I have not collagen but heard of it helping. I am not familiar with the serrapaptase and we only make bone broth at home for all dishes. I have tried fasting and didn't notice a change.

Hi Bonita, my name is John. I finally rc’d my AA diagnosis about 9 years ago. I’m trying to collect what meds everyone is on to see if we can’t find any doctors approaching this disease the same way. Dr. Forest Tennant is by far the leading doctor in America regarding AA. Unfortunately, he is now retired but you can find his materials on- line as well as on here. As for vision I have “some” bluriness that I thought was from needing new glasses. I got new glasses but still I go blurry every now and again. Most of my pain is from my diaphragm and below except for the damage being done to my brain from this. Constant overworked and never at rest because it’s processing pain where there’s no injury (like the feeling of a twisted ankle). There’s nothing technically wrong with the ankle it’s the nerves telling the brain pain signals. Two minutes later your ankle is better but then your leg bones feel like they’re being crushed. Mine moves all over and is constant, horrific and I would not wish this on my worst enemy. I am always here to help with questions you may have. Maybe I can answer but I’m trying to collect “victims” of this disease so we can work together to see what works. In Michigan, I have not found one doctor who hasn’t said, “Mr. Thompson I’m sorry but you seem to know more about this disease than we do.” It sucks. As I once read on a med journal “this disease comes with the pain of cancer but without the relief of death.” I know this sucks to hear but if you need answers, help or just someone with AA to talk to I’m available as I’m on disability.

Dr. Tennant is still available to look at your MRI's and consult by mail/email. I spoke to him personally. Contact info is in the description box.
