Played on this server almost daily for close to two years, hundreds of hours. How it's still up and going is beyond me with all the freak outs and meltdowns from the admin in discord, a large bulk of the veteran players either getting banned or quitting around the same time. I am curious why you are so critical of the administration of outlands? Despite the game being a sandbox, a lot of the mechanics can be brutal and smart players find ways to break the intended play to boost themselves and stomp on the ignorant victim, at what point is it necessary for an admin to step in? Or should they just let these players ruin the game for others with no consequences. Just a genuine question as I am mostly ignorant to this situation as it is really hard to follow in the chat, but I think a guy lost 4 years worth of items via a resource stockpile that was on a pack horse from his new courtyard in the wildlands due to a guild mass rune marking every spot on the map where houses could be placed in order to steal from brand new courtyards of unwitting players. Which I admit is incredibly clever, but is kind of bullshit. Just a genuine question not trying to be a whiteknight or a preacher as I personally can perceive Owyn being a bit of a jerk and hard head at a lot of moments.

Been hearing a lot from the community and the admins. I'd like to hear from the person who got banned, see what they have to say.

Aint seen a video for awhile hope all is well man!! I literally spoke out on the wildlands ordeal. Got slammed on reddit over it lol. Said there was over 35,000 people who attempted to get houses. When there was only 5k people online... 3 accounts per person, would be around 15k total accounts. Than said it aint coded to where people with houses and blah blah will get houses. Its based off money also, donations drived people who send in 100k at a time. 10 prev is worth 180k. They can buy whatever the fuck they want. You cannot buy "SKILLS" Yes im aware. Im a CURRENT OUTLANDS player. I just see alot of shady shit over the 4 years i been on there. Very unprofessional on top of everything else. Banning someone for saying f*** off. Clearly got some major head issues. People so stuck on the shard. Yes I enjoy it there. But wake up people.

Kane is not Expo. Kane and Expo do not get along, and that's ultimately why Expo left Evo, from what I understand. I haven't kept up with Evo in a number of years, now, but I played when Expo left. There wasn't really anything said (but I imagine thats common with staff removals) but a lot of people noticed; Expo was the best thing for that shard at the time, as he is the only person that was doing events any stories that weren't "push the mini event button" on the part of the staff. I'm gonna look at more of your channel, cus I dunno what's gone on with Expo since a few months into Outlands, but 100% he left the Evo team because of Kane and that's when Outlands was being born.

Shane was helping his whales Money Guild on UOF. Shane banned most of EQMS leadership while helping Money guild.

I had over 6k hours on OL's but i left, and never went back yet. I just got sick of the amount of FOLKS. Bots, scripters, and etc. I enjoyed it alot, just that part not so much. Really like the game ALOT. Not a fan of OWYN either. The guy is only about his lil fan group of folks. I knew folks who would donate 100k also. So he/other's selling on the website EPICNPC. Housing and etc. I been playing the older t2a shards myself.

I saw owyn at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loud

i got banned from UO Evolutions for going to a place that wasnt supposed to be on the map. Asked the admins how to get unbanned and they demanded a donation to get unbanned.

Yeah... it's all okay. That's all I gleamed from this video. Let them walk all over you and it's okay because women. If only all of us were so weak, we'd see everything fold into itself tomorrow into chaos. As an original uo player, I don't agree. It's not okay, fuck anyone who tries to take advantage of players that just want a clean experience. They can all go to hell.

What was the other shard Dante ran back in the day? Any shard He runs is corrupt. Story. So im on my Thief at Brit bank and a dude trys to put 10k gold in his back poack and it drops on the ground. I snag it but im just holding it in my cursor. He starts swears ranting and said GMs and Dante are his friend and he calls GM on me and makes me give it back. Well i told the gm to suck my balls and got perma banned.

You have to understand Owyn perspective. He is trying to bring the best experience to new players. I remember all the grieffing i had to endure as a noob, and while i personally wouln't want the other person banned, i support a susspension for a period of time. If you are grieffing for no other reason than to be an asshole, then there should be some sort of punishment. Its not as simple as asking "what rule did i break?" Its more complex.

I used to play UO:F. USED too. Admins would let anti-gay, anti-trans people talk all day, but banned me for "negativity" when I called them out. Afterwards they deleted my small stone tower without about 20 mill in skill scrolls. Not to mention Shane fucking scammed a disabled player of their money and then shit talked them on the forum. NEVER play the shard. NEVER.

So there was a couple of tangents around the point you were talking about the Ddos stuff. You posted "you caught me" in the subreddit but you are kind of implying it was a joke. I just want to be clear are you saying you actually did it? I can't quite understand.

If any UO server requires money or even has an option for you to spend money is most likely a scam. Just avoid them.

I have some faith that you can put your bias towards the subreddit aside and not let your distrust in mods affect your judgement of players commenting about their experiences. Whether I am friends with the mods or not shouldn’t detract from the facts laid out in that thread. I am also surprised the thread wasn’t nuked but it was posted by a legitimate player who got burned, who simply asked a question. I was personally attacked by triage in that thread for my statement and he subsequently deleted his comments. Other comments devolving into name calling were seemingly removed by mods as per rules, I don’t see a problem with that from a neutral point of view. The op of the thread posted a huge imgur dump expanding on the details of their encounters that you might want to check out if you are actually fighting for justice and not just seeking attention. I know you shadowban comment here until you approve them, this is more of a direct message. I would drop by your discord but it is somewhat impossible to talk to you in real time because of how much you have to say and how little you want to listen or collaborate. Glad I made it into season two though 😅

The UO free shard community is "thinning out" due to poor community managers that run these free servers. I see the only hope coming from the Legacy UO server simply because they are less prone to the God complex so many of the solo owners get. It's a shame the UO subreddit banned you, I thought they were allowing open discussion on other free shards. I'll add a conspiracy theory here that they were probably paid to promote the server of the month. These same concerns were brought up on the last popular server (5+ years ago) that you couldn't criticize on the subreddit, UO Forever. Then, suddenly, it was okay to criticize UO Forever, and not okay to criticize UO Outlands. Weird stuff.... The argument of semantics with Punkte's rule set drug on a bit long, I get it, but if they don't want to change it, its on them. Pretty low on the list in my opinion when considering protection of UO players (the few that are left).

I respect your opinions and perspectives on these issues, and likewise respect that you're passionate about UO. I wonder however if you've had the rather arduous experience of playing a leadership role in a large and evolving community. In that position you start to notice that some of the most persistent and significant interpersonal problems originate from a very small minority. In a moderation role, often 0.1% of your community's population are people you are constantly hearing complaints about from dozens or hundreds of others. At that point you start reasonably wondering why it makes sense to frustrate the overwhelming majority of participants in order to allow those very few people to continue their actions simply because they are technically skirting within the bounds of the rules. Part of the growing pains of any community is handling the inevitable situations where a rule may not have been violated to the letter, but the community has been damaged nonetheless and action is warranted. I won't claim to know the inner workings of the particular situation highlighted here, but both the community and moderators seemed to be familiar with this character and his reputation for hassling others. If the moderators are constantly hearing complaints about the same person, they've asked that person to change their behavior without success, and the community is beginning to express frustration that "nothing is being done," it eventually becomes the right call to simply remove that person from the community so the 99.9% can have an improved experience. You can reasonably argue that it's censorship, and also make the argument of setting precedents leading to slippery slopes, but free-speech absolutism is a pipe dream approach to the exhaustingly complex issues that come up in diverse communities.

IMO it's only a "donation" if its not solicited, and nothing is expected in return, otherwise its "pay to win" like mobile apps microtransactions are. Nothing wrong with that, as long as they are honest about it up front.

Another story is UO has kept me out of trouble. ( Been in out and of jail/prison last couple of years ). But its my escape from all the BS. I mean there's alot of shitty people in the game but I love the game in general. But yeah man, your free to have your own options also. Evidence or not! Shadow Age isn't good at all to me. I tried it of course along with every other shard there is just about. Its deader than a deer laying off the side of the highway all summer LONG! I mean it looks good the map and everything just crap mechanics to me. Than a (Power Hour ) no thanks. Mr. Riot is who made the maps actually I've talked to all these people on discord at one point. Seifer has nothing to do with my efforts to get people to play. I have seifer blocked on discord, I go around telling people about unchained because I want more people to play with. I wanna do my own shard so bad, used to have experience with it ALONG long time ago. Nothing super customized but redid the entire world back in the day before they had world spawns. It was on RUNUo. Been trying to learn c# , which is going SLOW. By the time i get anything done the community wont exist im sure. What is really screwed most people who you think wow they are grand. Usually are cheating, games been around for along time. I've seen the speed-hack many times. Other than my rants, and talking hope all is well LOL.

Crazy how people get butt hurt over free-shard's. Truly they are much better than what retail could ever attempt at being. Wow free-shard's are making a killin on profit also, I just got into em recently. Ain't played since the original release to lich king than quit all together. But most of em offer a subscription/donation to get double XP and all this and that. Also these people live on these games. I don't understand how they do it. Like they must not work, have children or no jobs. There was a time I was on ALOT I mean alot. There was people i've seen on all hours of the day and night. All week/weekend long.

Sadly alot of people make TONS of real cash off outlands so yeah its slit throat for these folks who are making 10k a month just selling gold. Than houses, i seen a post on NPC website guy had 6 houses for sale for cash. Woulnt be suprised if it wasnt the "ownyer" or a staff.

Ive talked to Adam a few times on discord i never delete anything. Hes not to bright of a guy. The installation framework was all whacked out on angel was trash also. Multiple people couldn't get it to work. I recall the robo ordeal also and all the talk on outlands about it. He pretty much shot himself in the foot on that one. Resync, speed-hacking its all the same. Seen it many times.

Where did this occur in the game? There is one area of the game specifically carved out for new players....I mean if it was there the guy is openly griefing in an area the player cannot do anything to respond to. Not defending Owyn but there is a lot of context missing here.
