Not sure if you've ever seen or heard of the film "Hackers" but it's one of my favs (especially for the costume design) and the designer used a bunch of military gear in interesting ways. The creators said that they weren't trying to predict future, they were trying to make a funny movie, but they still managed to predict our present better then most of the movies about time travel. Our obsession with nostalgia, retro and 80s, countless reboots and remakes and more and more. This trilogy is actual genius masterpiece. .
