How I Dress Like Hunter S. Thompson

I love the right wing hippie writer (jokes), Hunter S Thompson and I think he was a phenomenal dresser and had an amazing style. I did a video going through his style throughout his life so this time around I wanted to show you guys how I dress like Hunter. Or better yet how he inspires some of my outfits. How do you guys think I did? Do you find yourself dressing like him?

Favorite is the last, especially since it's the one you seem most comfortable in, but the one that most embodies Hunter might be the RL + wool sports coat. I say "embodies" because I associate Hunter and his style with contradictions, but ones that flow out of his life rather than being affected. His most famous work has a fever dream hallucinatory aspect, but he honed his style by copying, word for word, The Great Gatsby, to get some sense of its technique. He spents hours in solitude, writing, but he was also an enthusiastic outdoorsman. He always had a shaggy aspect to him, like he was shaking off a bender, but never lost the precise martinet quality in his voice. And he was fearless: he spent months with the Hell's Angels, then wrote a book about the experience that may well have endangered his life, so to put together a fit that a few people might laugh at was nothing compared to that kind of risk.

Yes exactly! Hunter couldn’t have cared less what people thought about the way he dressed. The sweater short combo or the first outfit might be my favorites then runner up has to go to the varsity jacket look!

They’re a pair of Karl Lagerfeld sunglasses, I believe from the 80’s!
