Rainbow - "Starstruck" Guitar Solo Cover - '72 Marshall Major with "Blackmore" Mods - TP-1011 Preamp
Amp is for sale! Gmail me at lakegenevashoreline for details. This is a great value opportunity as it includes the TP-1011 "AIWA" preamp pedal and free shipping to the continental US!
Amp is in excellent condition, it was re-capped and has a fresh set of preamp and power tubes. Original transformers. New impedance selector and vintage style Bulgin AC plug. Restored with Philips mustard caps and Iskra resistors. It has my take on the factory mods that Blackmore requested at Marshall in '69/'70. Master volume in the back, it can be defeated or removed as I used one of the speaker jacks to avoid drilling an extra hole in the chassis. Original speaker jack is included.

Deep Purple -'A' 200 Guitar Solo Cover -200W Marshall Major and AIWA TP-1011 Preamp Pedal
Просмотров 4,1 тыс.2 года назад
The "A" 200 solo is a hidden gem in the back of the "Burn" album that has everything we love about Blackmore. Feel, speed, melody, precision and genius transitioning over a challenging chord progression like only him (and Jon Lord!) could do it. To my ears this solo has a very "British" character that I especially enjoy in so many examples of Blackmore's work. The amp has my take on the factory...
How To Get Ritchie Blackmore's Deep Purple MKIII Sound - You Fool No One
Просмотров 5 тыс.2 года назад
"You Fool No One" by request from my friend Mauro of the great Five Doctors Band! :) Check them out on Facebook for amazing Deep Purple covers. By 1973 Ritchie Blackmore had replaced not only Gillan and Glover but his Hornby Skewes booster and main Strats as well. Fender had made no changes in pickup construction at the time so we can assume that the bulk of the sound was very similar to his MK...
Rainbow "Starstruck" - Learn How To Play The Intro Like Ritchie Blackmore - Quick Tutorial
Просмотров 5 тыс.2 года назад
It was supposed to be a full cover of the song but in looking for an original backing track to use I saw a lot of videos, and each had a different way of playing the intro. So it turned into a quick tutorial on how I think it was originally played by Blackmore. The first factor that defines the starting position for the intro are the two initial B notes played on the sixth string. The rest of t...

To recreate the Machine set!! ffS that is amazing
Thank you! 🎸🎸🎸
Great playing brother. Im also attempting to master this solo, but I wanted to ask whether ritchie played this solo slightly higher in pitch like how he did in some parts of lazy
@@syd3610 Thank you! That’s correct, his Strat for this solo was slightly higher in pitch. But not for the second solo. If you check my Machine Head video I’m using a different guitar for each.
@@mgalbu thanks for the response brother. Your channel has been of great help towards understanding Blackmore. Cheers!
Machine Head is the Epitome Album of rock music. BUT the heavy sound did not come from Blackmore . It was the beasty Hammond run through Marshall amps.
Sounds like a les Paul incredible
This is near to Ritchie's sound and tone I have ever heard.... absolutely fantastic 👍
Thank you so much! :)
Perfect!
toujours un plaisir de t'écouter, la maitrise et le son .... bravo
Merci beaucoup! Très apprécié!
I’ve been a Deep Purple devotee since Black Night and a guitarist. That is RB’s sound. Amazing!
@@jeffburgess-td3ig Much appreciated! Thanks!
Questo suono non appartiene a questo mondo...e Alieno!!!
Grazie Mauro!
Always the best Max !!!
@@harleytech12 Thank you! 😃
Incredible🙌🙌🙌
Merci!! 🎸🎸🎸
These two solos on Lazy expecialla on Min Japan made Rock history- thanks very much for paying tribute to this and even the environment of the original recording "studio" in Montreux is simply fantastic. Kudos to mgalbu!
Thank you! Much appreciated!
Blackmore was blessed that that Night!
Just incredible!!
@@purplerainbow4790 Much appreciated!
Excellent!!!!
Great👏
Thanks!
Listen to Yngwie J Malmsteen's Evil Eye
toujours aussi bon
Merci!! 🎸🎸🎸
damn but that tone is a bullseye! killer playing too man!
Thank you so much! :)
You’re always spot on Max but this one sounds just like the record. Honestly I get freightened sometimes it’s so good!
Thanks Adam! :D I struggled a lot with the sound on this one. I would get his Live in Berlin "Music Today" tone with my regular settings and I almost post a video last week but it sounded very different than the studio version and I decided not to. After discarding the use of a Fuzzface I started playing with the position of the microphones. I pointed a close mic straight to the center of the speaker instead of at an angle and towards the rim (like Blackmore usually did), and a "room" mic pointing away from the cab. That setup unlocked the right sound but I still had to add some EQ on top of it. The amp settings were different too. Presence was on 10, and Mids was set lower than usual. Honestly I prefer his raw Live in Berlin tone, which sounds more like "Machine Head".
this tone is great!!!! great recreation!! i believe he used a VOX AC30 in the studio
Thanks! I address the AC30 theory in the description. Many people think that, but it's incorrect. If you look closely you'll see a picture of the Marshall head with the booster on top behind Ian Gillan during "Highway Star". Plus the multiple interviews where Blackmore talks about the Major, the many videos of him playing live, etc.
I think that pretty much nails it!!
😊😊😊Thank you!
great job and sound as always, Max!!!
@@flyingsnowman6727 Hi Eric! Thanks!! 😃
Always amazing. Tonewise und regarding playing. Deep Purple should have chosen mgalbu as their new guitarist.
Hahaha, thanks!!
I really love your sound snd playing. Keep posting
Thanks Mark!! Glad you liked it my friend 🎸🎸🎸
Come sempre filologicamente corretto ed esecuzione impeccabile...
Grazie Vigilius! Sei troppo gentile 😃

Nice job sounds right. Even Simon Mcbride is vexed with lazy. He said so in a recent interview 😂
😅😅😅
Have you tried playing some Deep Purple songs on a Gibson ES-335, LP or SG?
No, my only Gibson was a ES-175 and it was not the right kind of guitar for DP. Cheers, M.
One of my most favorite albums ever. Deep Purple at its best. Ritchie: un-effing-beleivable. You get the feeling the reason Ritchie was born was so that he could play Fender Steats, and that Fender made the Strat so that Ritchie can play it.
Agreed!!
Scallop fret board? Cool. What does it help with?
Bending and vibrato are much easier, in general the guitar feels great. Not like Yngwie's though, It has to be gradual like Blackmore did or you can go out of tune when playing chords.
Well done mate! A lot of work went into that! Don't forget to create your own music in the process!
@@trespass-tv4346 Thank you!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Wow amazing! Any chance you can do the second solo?
@@ppg7777 Thank you! That’s a great idea, stay tuned! 🎸🎸🎸
This fun watching and learning. R.B. Has a very staccato style and plays note parts instead just chords. I’ve heard it on the records but really didn’t think about it. Thanks.
@@Jamman610 Glad to hear that! 🎸🎸🎸
You should've been slightly louder in the mix 🙂
@@gregangyal3890 I agree…! 😖
what about Lazy was it a gibson 335
No, the 335 was at Blackmore's apartment in London. From his biography, he picked it up for Purple's Top of the Pops appearance on Dec. 16, 1971, while in the middle of the "Machine Head" recordings. He also stated that the 335 was last used for the "Child in Time" solo from "In Rock" ('69/'70).
