After many years of standing still, the machine was lifted from its resting place and restored by the former owner. Due to the aging of this owner, the machine was sold to Nick Peters after a few years. Nick Peters exhibits the machine at the industrial narrow gauge museum in Erica in the Netherlands.
NCK 304 dragline

Video from 2009 in which the current owner of this NCK 304 dragline (Ger Spetgens) transports the machine to his own storage location. Further on in the video the machine is operated by my then 12 year old brother Damon van Weelden.

Mooi zeg deze draglines had de machinisten school in Ede ook, 4 Hovers en 1 ander merk maar dat weet ik niet meer zo ffkes.

Zou ik dit nog onder de knie krijgen? Heb het draaien met een dragline nog geleerd op de machinisten school SOMA in Ede. Dat was 1976.

I have operated draglines for 40 years in New Zealand and operated Priestman & RB Draglines in our family business When the Huntly Power. Station project began I considered purchasing a KH 125 but for reasons that I have now forgotten it never happened. Are there many draglines still operating in the Netherlands? I am married to a Dutch Woman so have a special interest in Holland. Best regards, Clinton (Kiwi Clint) Webb
For the small Netherlands, quite a few different machines have been preserved and are in the hands of private or company owners. This is partly because the Higro association or the historical earthmoving association arranges a location several times a year where all this comes together for a weekend of playing in the sand :)
Volgens mij waren er 3 in die tijd. 1 zwerft er rond bij historisch grondverzet. De rest weet ik effe niet dit weet ik nog van mijn vader was ook machinist bij putman westervoort. Heeft de Rederlaag afgegraven voor steenfabriek De Groot langs de ijsel.
Er zijn/waren er nog 4 elke machine had een specifieke letter bij Komen: De R staat in brabant (higro) en is van Ger Spetgen, M is van Heibedrijf M.Kool, De V staat momenteel te koop bij West Equipment en de X is via Kees van Houten bij iemand anders in nederland gekomen -> zie draglinefan pagina op facebook
Hij draait er netjes en rustig mee. En toch ook niet te langzaam. Houd de boel heel!!!!!!! Keurig

Zouden ze op de machinisten/monteur school in Harderwijk ( voorheen Ede) nog hebben. Heb nog leren draaien met zo'n machine. Best wel tof werk.

Great video of vintage Fuchs 301 dragline crane operating & M35 dump truck! The REO M35 crane carriage tilts noticeably when the full dragline bucket is lifted. Were these truck mounted Fuchs 301 cranes equipped with outriggers?
I know that there are several of these machines in the Netherlands and as far as I know none of them have outriggers
@@cc_machinery I guess the operator just has to carefully judge how much load the crane can safely lift (with no outriggers) to avoid tipping the crane.

Nee, dit is een terugkerend evenement vanuit de Higro (Historisch grondverzet vereniging) waarbij hobbyisten en oud grondverzet bedrijven hun oude machines demonstreren.
