She looks like a very comfortable machine to operate. My Great Uncle worked for Ransom & Rappier who I believe were the forunner to NCK. He was a crane operator in their factory in England, his claim to fame was he could rest a beam on a fobb watch without cracking the glass... or so my Grandfather said.
I like to see Draglines work in dry soil like this - that way you can actually see what & how the bucket is working... unlike digging under water for sand or gravel. This is much better!

Is he processing the dirt for some reason? Seems to be going in a rotation there. Is he trying to pour it back in the trench? He’s about got it into a talcum powder. Looks like good powder.

Machine is at a museum and has been digging the same river of clay for over 15 years. Indeed, there is not much left of this soil/ground
