I'm not even sure if I want to do game development, I'm just an artist exploring every medium as I figure out my career. But I love this advice. It's applicable to pretty much any artistic endeavor. Making art is painful because when we make something we love and it fails, doesn't turn out the way we wanted, or gets ignored, it hurts like a real rejection does. It's really really hard to get past this. So thank you for sharing <3
There is a massive game in the market for a video that defers asking for permission until we provide a custom message overlay which sells the value of enabling notifications and if they say "Yes" opens the native consent dialog and if they say no, closes the message. This is especially valuable because IOS only lets you ask once. But you also need to check if consent has been given, without doing something that triggers the consent dialog and that is what is causing me so much pain right now.

I'm so fascinated by your day, like, you live completely different from me. I'm also a gamedev, and a production engineer during the day, and my day is so different from yours. I mean there's like four things in my fridge, mostly I just eat out. I come back and I work on...work, or gamedev. I own some stuff, but it's pretty barren. My husband and I are making a game together (I'm making the assets) and I have been having such a hard time with "baking," but the way you explained it was so easy to understand! I'm wondering if you (or anyone reading this, lol!) can help me out a bit, I am trying to make a log wall for our game. I got it looking pretty good, I have a texture connected to a "Bump" node and those are the only things plugged into my BSDF. But when I bake it, the texture image shows up, but the Bump doesn't show up, so it looks completely flat. I have no idea why it's doing this!

Your tutoial didn't work as it left me with black spots of no texture on my model still. The best solution i found was to just add a flat plane of that texture and then save it and use on model
How do you do that because I am having the same problem
@@NolansReality You do the same thing as in the video, but instead of doing it on your object, you do it by applying the texture on a flat plane. So the texture will cover the whole square with no gaps.

How would I dissolve an object with multiple materials?
Hey, I'm not sure if you can call it a mistake but at least it wasn't the effect that I was expecting. In the coroutine since you set the currentValue and LERP with it, thus it's actually arriving at the destined target value then it's supposed to be (because the difference shrinks with each time you LERP. To combat this you can simple introduce another variable "lastValue" which stays constant during the LERP. Then at the end you set the lastValue to targetValue not current :). For me it renders a much more smoother result and the one that I expected :)
