I'm really glad I found this before setting up my home lab. ESXi is no longer free, all they have for free is an "evaluation version." I will definitely be going with proxmux.

What type of paint do you use? Is Acrylic or Lacquer Paint safe? A lot of websites suggest I use Acrylic paint but most spray paint bottles give’s flammable warnings, and a lot of websites say that it will become combustible once it dries, has it effected the temperature in anyway? What if its just a bit of paint?

I tried ESXi and Proxmox. ESXi is way faster, more complicated then Proxmox. Proxmox is a little bit slower, but easier to use, more features, more stable. I choose Proxmox.

Major thing to consider is hardware compatibility. I got enterprise level server, but made some mistakes - it was without Hardware RAID controller... so from this point there was no way to go with ESXi for me. Now Im using ProxMox for a year and got any issues... while at work we often encounter issues, then we cant upgrade software, because newer versions of ESXi doesnt support HW, which was supported in older versions. Another thing to consider - is ZFS performance. Since ESXi is using HW RAID ONLY - speed of array is limited to actual Disk speed. But in ProxMox there is a different story - it uses unused RAM for ZFS cache! this way I can get up to 3x greater speed of array than actual speeds of the Discs! Just keep in mind that for this trick you need at least 64GB or RAM...

Yes! Thank you! I'm not even an Apple fanboy and I think the lightning connector is a superior design by far! Every phone I've had for the last 5-7 years, the first thing that goes has been the charging port. And my last two phones have been USB C, but even they break after sufficient use (suspiciously close to when my two year contract is up). It's such a pita, every single time. I don't care if USB C is not ubiquitous, or faster, or whatever. If I can't charge my device because the port (not the cable) broke then the rest of it is just stupid. I was glad to finally be rid of the awful micro USB standard, which broke even faster. But USB C hasn't really proven to be significantly more durable. I'm on my second USB C phone, and 1 year into ownership the port is already having trouble charging with some cables. Maybe I'm just really hard on my devices. They get a lot of use, and a lot of charge cycles. But it's not the battery that's killing me by the end, it's the stinking charging port breaking. So I see an these videos comparing lightning to USB C, and the only thing people seem to complain about USB C is the messy standard. But Alli really care about a standard is 1 backwards compatibility, and 2 I can find accessories for it. I don't need crazy data transfer rates (though they are nice when I have two compatible devices to make it worth it). I just need it to work.

While I wouldn't use this as a permanent solution, this saved me some time migrating from 6.7 Essentials Plus to 7.0 Enterprise Plus for a customer. The license for Essentials Plus can't be used on 7.0 VCSA. You can install it, but it's not valid. I only needed full functionality for a few weeks as I migrated to the new VCSA and upgraded to 7.0. I didn't want to re-install ESXi 6.7 so MANY thanks for this! 👍

Hey I would recommend setting up a dashboard so you don't have to open up excel to see a service, I recommend flame, it works great for me.

There different products for different uses.. VMware is a live production hosting software for production workloads with features to match.. Proxmox is a home lab setup, I would never use it in a production environment.
