ok so basically godaddy big suck, managed wordpress bad, really "managed" anything bad unless you're a grandma (hi grandma ♥ RIP) so this walks you through how to do it from a computer you actually manage.
seriously you have to call godaddy if you want stuff changed in the config. don't know what that means? try to make a good site on there without running into errors. can't do it :(
