USB C Sucks and Here's Why (Macbook Pro 2017)

I know I'm gonna get some flack, but removing the aux was a bad idea...
not even touching concepts like data rates or proprietary-ness because that's not what this is about

Yes! Thank you! I'm not even an Apple fanboy and I think the lightning connector is a superior design by far! Every phone I've had for the last 5-7 years, the first thing that goes has been the charging port. And my last two phones have been USB C, but even they break after sufficient use (suspiciously close to when my two year contract is up). It's such a pita, every single time. I don't care if USB C is not ubiquitous, or faster, or whatever. If I can't charge my device because the port (not the cable) broke then the rest of it is just stupid.
I was glad to finally be rid of the awful micro USB standard, which broke even faster. But USB C hasn't really proven to be significantly more durable. I'm on my second USB C phone, and 1 year into ownership the port is already having trouble charging with some cables. Maybe I'm just really hard on my devices. They get a lot of use, and a lot of charge cycles. But it's not the battery that's killing me by the end, it's the stinking charging port breaking.
So I see an these videos comparing lightning to USB C, and the only thing people seem to complain about USB C is the messy standard. But Alli really care about a standard is 1 backwards compatibility, and 2 I can find accessories for it. I don't need crazy data transfer rates (though they are nice when I have two compatible devices to make it worth it). I just need it to work.
