I could watch this video weekly and feel exactly the same way EVERY WEEK! I’m $500 down on the week because eBay decided to change something that caused 8 million drop in traffic.. offers are not working! I’ve got two tickets in! Crazy! I’m sick of thinking what I can do to reset the algorithm.. I am going insane.., 😵‍💫🤯🤪

When shopping online do not click on or buy from sponsored ads. The more people that make this a habit the more these greedy companies will be forced to change tactics.

I would just like to say that i saw in your community tab, a post of you talking about low page views. Prior to seeing that i was watching this video and thought i would go see what kinda stuff you have listed. .. BUT .. no link or info to your ebay stores under this video and nothing under the Creator about page!! Maybe that is something to look into?? I would think that links or info to every store and platform your using would be readily available and easy to find. Not to say that those things might actually be on other videos... And ill be real... Im not going to go searching for that. Again just something to think about... Maybe!?!?

I believe anyone Ebay brings on as CEO, will be focused on stock price/shareholers, irrespective of sellers. What I mean is that unless sellers become a hot commodity, Ebay will continue on its present path. Ebay is on a perpetual path of attempting to bridge the gap between total revenue and dwindling sellers by leveraging an increasing percentage of current sellers revenue. Essentially, our profits are building that bridge. If Ebay stops now, their stock price would drop on a continual basis. If I were an Ebay seller, I'd be looking to expand to various platforms. It's not ever going get better. Why would it get better? Ebay's problem is one of lack of buyers, and ever increasing competition.

They have enough passive income from those of us who have been busting our butts but have STORES- if they just stopped bothering with getting us sales- especially those of us who have smalls and less expensive items- and we keep on keeping on because we're TRYING- we are paying them that store fee every month and they can get that without giving much in return! We have to pay it! I made less in 2023 than I've made in YEARS and with much more effort and crossposting and higher fees. I used to do this PT and sporadically list and had 1/3rd of the listings I have now and didn't have a store, and now I'm paying $60/mo and getting a fraction of the sales.

When they switch to this "mode" I just move my focus to other platforms. It's actually great because It's getting to the point where I don't really need to sell there anymore. This time I think I'll take the leap on to Depop which I have been tinkering with for a little bit. The funny thing is that I actually make more daily at my physical booth locally where the traffic is WAY WAY less.

A store in the UK middle tier only gets you 1500 listings and very little else.

What a nightmare it has been. I couldn't end my old promoting listing campaign. Every time they make a change it is always for the worst....

Last December I sold something on marketplace that I had a few of, so I went in to ebay to adjust the amount available. But the item wasn't there. I got curious and searched a few other items that I had gotten in around that same period, and these listings were a few years old. I would have ended and sold similar at points but I had stocked these items for a few years. Anyway, I ended up finding more and more items missing, I had to go through all my inventory, over 4000 different items. I had over 200 listings that had disappeared. Ebay didn't want to know, ken saying someone would call me back, lots of excuse, I gave up after a month of trying to get answers. They just didn't want to know about it.

Here’s something I’ve found when delisting & selling similar that causes you to loose your listing. If a product was a multiple product listing and you have sold an item from this listing. I’ve delisted a single listing like that and a notification popped up saying “you sold this item “. At that point that listing that still has product on it disappeared. I went to un sold to relist it but at that point there is no longer an option to sell similar or revise! It only states that “you’ve sold this item “. At that point you only have one option. Find the product and completely start the ad over from scratch! I hope this made enough sense to you and that you will experiment with it so that you can get the word out to the public. I don’t have a channel to do so.

eBay blinded by their own greed. I noticed only about 25% of my listings are being promoted. I have all my listings promoted at 2.2%. Now all my listings are not showing on my ad campaign 😂😂😂. eBay made some kinda change with the ad campaigns and now they are actually losing money because all the listings are not being promoted. eBay is like the panhandlers harassing you for a quarter.

Great video Jeff..as always :) And thanks for the shout out :D The changes with the Advertising Dashboard are just flawed, illdesigned and in all honesty (in my opinion) misrepresenting not only our stats but the service they have entered into and agreed to with the contract accepted between us and ebay for the subscription we have paid them for. The next time you have issues with ESS, you should record the problem. I use ESS for all 60,000 allotted listings every month, and I have never experienced any losses, although I have experienced glitches. I get the "199" fairly often. It's always the top listing on that page that didn't end. I end that one single item manually to get back to factors of 200 on my Unsold Page. Before I begin the ESS process, I write down my number of active listings. After each cycle, I make sure I'm always returning to that number. If someone buys an item during the process, of course you have to reduce that number by one. I try to ESS at midnight, when there is little traffic. If the process seems extra glitchy, I abandon the effort for the day.

eBay throttles you when you end your PL campaigns in order to scare you (or perhaps it causes a re-indexing that appears as throttling). But it's not in their long-term interest to spite your account for eternity. I believe the same switch is triggered when (1) you have an outlier mega-sales day, (2) you get a negative feedback, or (3) you slip in service metrics. I would recommend promoting your oldest items at a very low percentage, just so you are participating in the program. I promote about 15% of my store, which are all my listings from 2021. These listings are practically meaningless to me.

50:44 1000% i get messages like that all the time its another Motivation to keep on going but ebay has LOST its way from that as Jamie Stated in one of the earnigns calls last year i think it was the q4 they want to get away from the Moniker worlds Largest Flea Market but where do you find all these GREAT vintage and antique one of kind Unique items Normally AT FLEA MAKERTS when i heard that that they want to get way from that its like a slap in the face to all all that sell used Vintage and antique items like flea market sellers or flea market selling is a dirty thing THEY NEED TO concentrate on The USED collectible market More then the NEW market they will never be amazon let amazon have the NEW market they need to solely concentrate on the USED market in general period and they are doing a HORRIBLE job a that. but i have pointed this out on many channels now regarding this topic if ebay were to equal focus on the USED items as whole and Not just there Focused Categories we all know what would happen the USED as a whole would OUT preformed the Focused categories 10 to 1 we all know this its a fact and if that happen the CEO and CFO would look like fools there spending all this UN NEEDED money on these focused Categories and here the USED items as a whole are out preforming there pet project focused Categories' Jamie's a narcissist He will never admit he was wrong about the plan or future of eBay and the direction he steered it Nor will he ever Do what i just stated and give equal attention to ALL USED items as a whole compared to just giving there attention to the Focused Categories He will never do that because he knows if he does he will be looked at as a fool when the USED items as whole beat his Focused Categories $$ wise 10 to 1 he will then be looking for another job because he refused to embrace what was already there and had been there for 20 plus years when he took the helm in April 2020

44:45 that is how i have looked at reselling for the last 25 years no matter the platform i have always looked at it as an investment (our inventory) if you buy something for .25 and sell it for $10 what bank can you do that were you put .25 in and even a year later come back and get $10 you tell me that bank and ill put all my money in that bank there IS NO bank you can do that ONLY place i know you can do that is via Reselling and possibly the Stock market (i dabble in the stock market on and off since 2000)

I had a glitch that when I was sending bulk 5% offers, people were receiving £5 offers instead. When I called eBay they told me I was sending offers like 72% or 91%. I told them how could I possibly calculate that £5 is exactly 72% of £16.99. They bullied me into submission and told me I must now send those items for that price. I contacted buyers and all were understanding. Now I am scared to even send offers anymore.

33:46 funny im at the same % i do $20 and under items at 5% and over $20 at 3% if she is getting that great of results without promoting i might just turn off mine too! i was actually thinking about upping it 1 or 2% lol also i have been doing a test of No End and sell similar and im staying steady started June 1st lol have not done any end and sell similar since June 1st June i actually made More then i did in Jan Feb and March funny thing was i sold Less items! im going to keep the test going till Sept 1st Since EBay states in there eyes items are stale after 90 days and that is when they suggest to do the end and sell similar if i keep steady or surpass it will tell me at least i do not have to do end and sell similiar every month (which is what i was doing) but since i have 17k items and had items that were ending daily i had do the end and sell similar pretty much every day!

They have all sellers cornered heading face first into a depression. A lot of desperate people right now getting taken advantage of and I got news for everyone.... It's about to get a whole lot worse. IMO Ebay knows exactly what they are doing and they are fully taking advantage of sellers and making them promote in order to boost the revenue. If you don't promote someone else is desperate enough to promote higher so they boost that sellers items until the other sellers give in. I have some rare items and no views or sales but as soon as I promote all of a sudden people are looking for that item and a few sales here and there? Yeah... right. eBay sees what's coming and is grabbing as much cash as possible IMO. Do your due diligence on market cycles and prepare accordingly. May God Bless you all through the storm ahead.

I stopped promoting in November last year and I also stopped sell similar this year in January. Additionally I only replace what sells, meaning I keep the amount of listings the same. Never had better sales. I am only a part-time seller. Most of all, I have my life back. Went from 6 hour workdays down to 1 to 2 hours.

19:28 remember jeff last year around this time i said they were doing A/B testing remember i said those that were saying the rug fell out and others were not i said the ones that said the rug fell out had to do what WE all had to start to promote the ones that were not feeling the rug falling out did not have to promote to get there same sales NOW i said ebay was going to flip the switch come Jan 2024 those in GROUP A in 2023 that he rug fell out would get back to some normalcy (with promoting) and those in Group B in 2023 were not going to be affected in 2024 like group A was in 2023 the rug was going to fall out from them an NOW there are Many saying its the worst sales months they have had in MANY years Same thing we were saying last year remember what i said last year EBay's Plan is they want to get as close to as 100% sellers promoting as possible WHY wouldn't they when 1 of there 3 pillars of there revenue going forward as a company is Promoted Listings anyone that listens to there Quarterly earnings calls over the last year HAD to have heard this they are NOT SHY at stating this there VERY PROUD OF IT. so why wouldn't they want 100% all 18 million sellers doing promoted listings?? the ONLY way to do that would be to THROTTLE or some how AFFECT there Listing Visialbilty in the background to FORCE Them to do Promoted Listings
