I’m ok with ebay charging a fee on sales tax. I look at it as a service fee we pay to have them handle remittance. I wouldn’t want that headache.
I don't think the complainers fully grasp the alternative of bookkeeping for the 45 states (plus DC) that charge sales tax at varying percentages. It may be even worse than that because sales tax will vary also from city to county in some states. No thanks.

I get these really low ball offers also. I think most of them are other sellers trying to buy wholesale off of other sellers to resell.
I've said that in my 'low ball offers' video. Lack of buyer initiated offers, for me is a sign of low visibility.They won't make offers, when they can't even see it.

@@hayfro in April I've sold more items than any other month since at least 13 months. I haven't checked further down. And that despite getting rid of 30% impressions, which most likely were empty anyway..
My guess is having multiple accounts on Facebook doesn't work because they know who you are by your ISP
What they're doing with fees isn't sustainable. I think they know that deep down, but they have market expectations and need to make more money and don't have any fresh ideas. I truly believe they're throttling our sales to force us to voluntarily give them more money. Right now the 10 cent increase was a quick and acceptable way for both expectations and for seller.

It aggravates me about the charges on shipping but I have to say the taxes are another story. I have enough paperwork in my life and I feel relieved that Ebay handles tax documents for us. Maybe it's a lot over time?? Probably but that is enough to make me shut up about the tax charge part.. lol.. The shipping, that's another thing, and on top of that they want to adjust calculated (front facing) for the customer. I do flat rate mostly but that sure ramps that gripe up about charging on shipping. What was really slamming me was Dynamic Promoted Listings. I quit doing that. I can't let them adjust.
in 2016, ebay had 163 million seller worldwide and recently it drop to 130 million, what ebay is doing is accelerating the seller leaving the platform. I used to be 100% ebay in sales but right now it is more like 2/3 ebay, 1/3 others, I did that in 2 years. We all know what ebay is, the REAL question is "what are you going to do about it?" as a seller. I will say that veteran ebay seller will go down with the ship b/c they can't adapt the change or simply thick headed. I complained alot about ebay but nothing will change and it is up to each seller do something about it. I have start back up my Amazon and so far, I'm doing ok. My goal is to leave ebay within few years

I haven't had a sale in 3 weeks coming up on a month. I haven't had an offer in 2 weeks. I don't have a large number of items listed, just over a hundred, and I haven't listed a new item in several months. I realize these are likely the reason, but I've been working a lot more at my regular job, so my time has been limited. It is as if Ebay has completely turned off my store. I was doing great from January until the shutoff in late April, up nearly 100% year over year. I think ebay got mad that I was still making sales by not promoting and not listing. I feel like I have to dance for ebay sales like a trained monkey instead of being able to just conduct normal business.
do you do any resets?
@hayfro yes, every weekend. For a while, I would get sales every time I reset, but now it just seems to increase impressions and views with no corresponding sales.

@hayfro yeah, I continue to do it only because in my niche, buyers always look more on the weekends than at other times. This is how I know eBay broke their site because I used to be able to list on the weekend and get instant watchers and offers from buyers. Now, if I list, 75% of the listings get zero views during the busiest period of my niche. Makes absolutely no sense!
I did a full store reset just over a week ago and it’s been like all of my 2300 items are invisible, for a week!
I don’t really want to revisit the Q1 report to confirm, but I believe PL listing revenue gained $2M in Q1 over Q4. They muddle first-party ad rev (PL) with third-party ad rev on their graph. Overall, the ad revenue went down, with the loss occurring through the 3P revenue. Still, PL was pretty much flat percentage-wise, which is the first sign of it eventually going down.
I predict PL rev will finally fall in Q2, as a function of (1) PL tolerance having been reached and (2) overall GMV falling.
i agree it was unclear. i thought pl last qrtr was 390ish and this quarter was 370ish. but I could be wrong or misread it. either way it def seems to be decelerating.
When a parasite eats itself the appetite is big to start with until there’s no self left !! This is what’s happening with so many other companies too! Everyone, even banking apps are using advertising.. it’s disgusting!! The bubble will burst!
You know when you sit back and ponder this eBay fiasco -- the eBay upper management give the appearance of the kid that grows up in a rich-only child home- that went to a private prep school of sorts- you know - with the ivy growing on the buildings. And they get their kicks out of screwing the lowly peasants everyday.

HI Jeff ... I got so frustrated with Ebay not giving me much in sales for halfa a week after listing about $2000 to $3000 of stuff on Ebay with a lot of very rare items too over the past 2 weeks with about 10 listings a day. After having all my rare vdeogames that I listed the past 2 weeks not even being noticed I just got pissed off last night and listed them over on Marketplace too and I have someone now coming by tomorrow to get a game from me. Amazingly enough I had $350 in sales today ..... why couldn't I get sales like that the rest of last week .. that was 2 people buying a bunch of stuff from me including some of my rare Heroscape items. I only had a total of $400 in sales all week last week. I hope they don't cap my sales for the rest of the week due to those sales.
i honestly have no idea what they are doing. i sold $85 on ebay today. $350 local. I literally took down 7 items from ebay to sell local.
@@hayfro I lsit stuff on both and will take them off Ebay if they sell or vice versa. A friend of mine was telling me about his success lately on Ebay, Amazon, Poshmark, and Whatnot. He's doing them all and getting lots of sales between them all. Sometimes you just need to sell everywheres to get ahead.
I have no idea what they are doing either. Feels like they want you to list crazy amounts of items and just let them sit on their site forever ..... that doesn't really make sense when people can sell the items you are trying to sell for a lot more and noone is even looking at your items that you listed over the past week that should be flying.
I noticed Terapeak was trash yesterday, but only for solds. It was returning pages of unrelated nonsense. Meanwhile the active listing search was still accurate.
I’ve never used terapeak. Do you pay for it?
@@hayfro It’s free with your store subscription. Three years of sold history. Very important for my ultra-slow STR items.
@@biffboffo Yes, I use it about 30 times per day,...it's definitely not perfect, -the results are erroneous, but still very useful. Items that I know I sold last year for big money do NOT always show up in the results. An item that sold 6 months ago will show up in a "1-year-based" search, but if you do a "3-year-based" search, suddenly that '6-month' item is not in the results.
Not sure if you noticed but eBay has changed item specifics on listing new items! Now everyone I list say I need to add item specifics.. this is probably why my sales stopped after 9 sales I had 3 days with 1 sale and noticed right off item specifics change 🤷🏻♀️😱😏😢

Right now on eBay I get one good day a week so why should I get 9 sales one day and nothing for 3 .. I can’t buy inventory as I used to.. now I have to limit myself weekly but we know deals don’t come this way, we have to grab them when we see them! So my buying habits will affect my biz! It’s not just eBay it’s starts from google who are trying to cannibalize .. it’s also as if the eBay algorithm sees a change of behavior that rewards to an account but if you repeat, it reprimands 🤷🏻♀️ it’s what I’ve noticed!!

My guess is AI search and listing aggregate is flawed and is becoming a hinderance to efficient useful store churn. I don’t think it’s intentional. They cater to the top and we’re the Bottom feeders in their business agenda. It does seem like they are trying to move toward Amazon type up selling and marketing.... selling the same thing over and over of one listing with quantity selected and doesn’t ever end - it just says out of stock. You can do this to your listing in a global setting but not individually - which is ridiculously short sighted.
I didn't listen to the call, but I'm guessing the demon running eBay now says that 99.9% of sellers just LOVE promoted listings!
lol. he didn't say that but I did catch something that he has a plan on how to bring more people into promoted listings, which doesn't sound good.
I really hope that buyers NEVER figure out the eBay way to screw sellers EVERY TIME. Cause unfortunately ebay will side with a buyer who is lying and has only been on the site for a few months over a consistently perfect seller who not only does EVERYTHING RIGHT (as shown in my feedback) but has been selling on eBay for over 20 years!! Ebay's business model of SCREW THE SELLERS doesn't seem like a smart idea to me. But what do I know, the world is upside down and backwards now so this is probably just more stupidity we have to deal with. I think I'm getting an ulcer - Can I sue for that?
you should be able too if the world was fair!
