Great to watch and a great mix of you two. It's different but a good outlook on life experiences from you both being from USA. A tip from me.. A Scottish guy first been thailand 15 yrs ago when 3 week holidays who now spends 7 months a year thailand and not chasing too much of wild nights out...i made up some code words for me and my thai friends and western friends to use when out and only our small group knew. When put or walking and you or friend look and think when passing someone someone...i.e A LB code name them "Kettles!" So you can say e.g. what you think? A kettle? They dont heat so no insulting or making the person feel conscious their cover is blown. I made up codenames for various people and types...only we knew but could talk openly as we passes etc. Its a good tip from me. No insulting ppl or saying something to hilurt their feelings. And yes some LB are good company when out just a few...also met guys who introuduced their girlfriend and their proud that they are in a baberet show etc. I met 2 guys over the years who were eventually quite open when they could be that partner was LB. Codes for large ppl...gay..anything that you want to keep low key without embarrasing people. Keep up the great mix of ppl...enjoyable to view.

Great, see him. I followed him for a good few years now..great to see him chatting and sharing his experience. Im just 7 months a year, but he did make me start looking at more things! I got the last flight to the UK as Covid hit hard after that it was lockdown. But i still kept my dream of spending more than 50% year..thailand. and i followed Chris i stay there few months, but being going 15+ Years. After always going to FL for years Many Thai friends..over these years..and all my friends still working for years yet in uk..if anyone asks me why do like it so much...i always tell them i couldnt explain it all to you...go for a holiday you wont regret it and you will find it hard to go many other places...great to see him today...and i always thought it be good if you hooked up with him and get on your channel!.well done..great you got together and got us viewers clued to the screen

When traveling with two passports, always enter and exit any given country on the same passport. So, for example, a Thai/Canadian dual citizen should always use their Thai passport when entering or leaving Thailand and their Canadian passport when entering or leaving Canada. That shouldn't lead to problems. It can be a little challenging when you have different names on your passports. In this case, you will need to show the passport that matches the name on your plane ticket in order to check in and when dealing with *security* regardless of country. However, at customs and immigration, use the passport that is "native" to that country. My Thai wife and I met and married in the US, and she has never changed her name in Thailand, but did change her name in the US as part of the naturalization process, so I the above advice is from years of experience going back and forth between the two countries. first time watching your video! not sure how i ended up here but i reallyy enjoyed it. I'm thai btw, so would love to help you clarify on the loosing face concept. There is a phase for it in thai which is "sia-nah" ("เสียหน้า" ) Sia means loosing/broken and nah means face (its a direct translation actually). i think it derives from the fact that the majority of asian culture were taught to be super respectful using language (you can see this clearly in japan too) towards adult or someone older or with authority. For example, instead of saying "no,thanks i dont like the taste" when food was being offered, many thais will say something like "ohh im full thanks na ka/kub" "mai pen rai kaa", "greng jai" or bunch of other nice things or white lies just to be abit subtle/less direct you cant even translate some of these words to western culture because it doesnt really exist they just speak their mind. Asian culture in general also have seniority system = kids are taught to be even be more respectful towards older people/ people with authority e.g. teacher, grandparents, monk, parents, older brothers/sisters, school senior, etc. thats why we have the word to label each persons social pronoun พี่ (phi), น้อง (nong), คุณ (you but respectful manner/register)sometimes if younger people doesn't pay enough respect to someone older even just by saying something too direct or like too harsh on their action like raising voice, doing disrectful facial expression... the older person might feel "loose face"like loosing cool basically.. like how dare young kid teach me im more experienced and older. i experienced this since I studied in an international school while my chinese father & my thai boyfriend studied in a thai school so sometimes i have issues with them too ..but just a little with how i express things since i have many foreign friends. they told me like im too straight forward and too direct ...its really funny sometimes they're trying hard to understand though. my dad said i need to adapt if i want to do business in thailand/china and my bf told me his whole life he was taught there are many ways to say thing indirectly, so no one feels offended or hurt ...till today there are many times i have no clue i can't say certain things to thai people. hope this helps a little. i think farang might be to straight-forward, speak their minds, get message across with no sugar coating...so thais might be feeling sia nah and got pissed.

i look at it like, If a person pays for something they appreciate it more, if they decide to play with the womans heart and just get her pregnant and leave, they have already paid the child support and financial support ahead of time since there is no child support etc in Thailand, it is also less likely that you get married and then want to divorce the next month if you paid a hefty amount of money to get married.
