drinks in a bar or a go go = main tip is = check your bill often and let the staff see you check so they know it will be hard to add drinks to your bill - or - you can pay cash everytime you get a drink to avoid this all together
This bar owner really knows the game in Thialand. I have run a couple of bars and dance clubs in a tourist area of Florida. I was in my 20s and 30s. It was well known that people my age would not or didn't have the money to spend. I made more money in small neighborhood bars than in multi-club dance bars. Also the operating costs were so big in dance clubs for promotional advertising. The only advantage to dance clubs is you can make $30,000 at the door as a cover charge during weekends and holidays.
Mate, this was really well done. Good production and great talk about the BKK nightlife. Great to hear the woman’s side too. Keep up the good work! You’ve convinced me to check out Sugar on my next BKK trip. Haha
Loved the podcast. I'm coming next year for 3 months and wondering where to go for a chilled night out but still meet people. I'm single and coming alone.
Beer bars, gogos, nightclubs and everything else! 🤔 missing a major one there that’s becoming big especially in Chon Buri. You did say nightlife time in Thailand ! Let’s be clear on a few things. You don’t have to buy a ladydrink in a gogo bar you can sit there and admire the view. The Mamasan manages the girls and there can be multiple Mamasans depending on the bar size. If you are after a particular thing, just ask the Mamasan and they will help you out, they are not always older ladies, they can be younger ladies, ladyboys. Also you did not mention gogos are behind closed doors, but you can walk in , check out if the scene/ lady quality/ if it’s busy or not and if you aren’t impressed, just walk out. Thai girls like to hang out at the nightclubs because they get cheap drinks (way cheaper than of the menu), they also get special deals like a free bottle of grey goose (or other spirit bottles) plus mixers if there is a group of 4 or more. This is because the girls bring in the farangs (foreigners) and make the place busy. Been here back and forth for 10 years. BTW female butterflies I call wasps. 5 years and you’ve never been to Patpong, Pattaya, Bang sang, jomtien! You definitely need to explore more.
Loving your content Eric 👍🏽 a lot different then the standard ferang “how much does it cost to live in Thailand vids” thats very over populated. Your podcasts actually feels like im at the table with you, its great 👍🏽 Im in BKK end of February for a few nights passing by to Phuket then back up to Hua Hin. Ive been living in Thailand for the past couple of years on and off throughout the year. Im actually staying at Aria where you suggested the Pastel rooftop bar in your other pod. If you’re around for a drink, i know you don’t drink but would be cool to chat and catch up as i don’t know anyone in BKK. - keep up the great work, cheers
I'm 41 and I love the Nana area. Not Nana plaza, because I go with my wife, but even just Soi 4 at Nana has lots of fun bars where you can sit down, relax and have a drink and they often have live bands as well. And because I come there with my wife, we don't get approached too much by the bar girls.
Hey Eric another good video with some great info keep up the good work. I'm 65 a non drinker like yourself but have loved listening to music all my life cant live without it could you recommend some places (if any) in the Ekkamai , Phra Khanong ,On Nut areas whether it be a rooftop bar, club, outdoor market where I might catch some Jazz, Rock, Pop or even Disco (don't laugh 😄) . Grew up listening to all those great bands and artists of the 70s 80s 90s , Santana ,Supertramp, Queen, Stones, Elton, Bowie ect ect ect . Can pretty much listen to anything these days except rap. Went to this place called W Market in Phra Khanong a few weeks ago and there was this guy playing Guitar it was so good. Cheers 🙏
Thanks for watching. To be honest, most of what I've seen in Ekkamai/Thong Lor is hip hop or EDM/techno. I'm not sure there's much of the genres you mentioned in that particular area but it could just be that I'm out of the loop on that
Good concept and branding with this podcast keep it going.Interview Roberto vs the world he is currently there sure he would love to do the podcast really good guy.
I know this was brought up on the previous interview. When you completely ignore the other guest for 25 minutes and can see that's she bored and possibly offended, it's painful to watch.
Allow me to clear this up... Because this is a brand new podcast, I asked some friends (and friends of friends) if they would hang out and record in order to get the first few episodes going. Modzii iwas nice enough to come hang with us, event hough she didn't know what this was going to turn into. And she was cool about it (even though she really is a bit shy/nervous). That all being said, I didn't want to put too much pressure on her (at least not for the first time) so tried not to put her on the spot too much. I think by the end she understood what it was all about and was a lot more comfortable so hopefully in the future she'll come back and have a larger part of the conversation. And P.S. none of the three of us are dating 😂
Thx. I stayed at the Ruamchitt Hotel in Bkk. There is a basement club--lots of pretty young ladies and a few older ones. Guys have to buy a drink, a lady said it cost her 50 baht to enter. But I couldn't figure the place out; there was very little mingling, many of the ladies were rude and most left alone at the 2:00 am closing... @@OneNightinBangkok_ a
I lost count how many times you said bro not my thing. You could live that same boring existence back in the states while you’re in Thailand living we’re just visiting blowout enjoy taking everything the kingdom has to offer.
Seems a real shame what Thailand has become. For a Country that is so welcoming to the foreigners, in the last 12 to 15 years has become just a pitfall for most people trying to have a great time at a reasonable price. In other words hence most bars are empty unless there is live music. Thais just seem to take the mickey out of farang and think everyone has 1,000 dollars to spend everyday. Sad and not good for Society in general. Just my opinion.
He did include her later, still in the early stages of these interviews, Im sure they will improve, he's pretty onto it and good to listen to, has all the gear and great setup, I can see his channel taking off once he gets some more interesting people on there and given time to improve
Bring back Chad regularly, he knows what he’s talking about. And good to listen to.
Yes I would like to. There’s so much I would like to talk to him about.
Is The Pimp Club still around ?
I'm not 100% sure (I've never been) but I believe it's still open @@simonyee5524

Maybe a rooftop like Above Eleven, or a bar like Hilary on Soi 4, or Hilary on Soi 11.

Thanks. May I ask how old you are? I could make a better recommendation
I'm still confused if it's a good or a bad thing if you're a farang that speaks some Thai and live there longer :D (28 min "screening" part)
It can work in both directions. But overall, I think it’s good 👍
what is the scene of PR girls who charge for their time and share drinks and dinner

How about suzy wongs.?
I've been there once or twice. Can't remember too much about it. What would you like to know?
I was just thinking does bangkok have any similar to suzy wongs that you can recommend?
They have a Suzy Wong in Soi Cowboy.
