My first trip to Asia was to Bangkok and Phuket. Since then we have been there at least 19 times. On our last day of our vacation, we went to an Italian restaurant…yes Italian. The waitress was probably no older than 16. She skipped to our table. Both food and service was fantastic. The cost of the meal for 2 was about 12USD. I gave her the equivalent of $20 USD. When she came back with the change I motioned for her to keep the change. I spoke very little Thai and she spoke no English. A beautiful smile adorned her face. She put the money in her pouch, placed her hands together, tilted and bowed her head. She took two steps back and repeated the gesture. Honestly, while the sights and tastes of Thailand were more than enough to bring us back, it was that young girls gesture of kindness and thanks that sealed our desire to return. Sadly we never got her name and I can’t remember the restaurant name. I often wonder what became of her and wish her much health, wealth and happiness

When you read Romanized Thai print. Every "Ph" is just a sound of "P" not "F". Phranakorn is "PRAnakorn" not "FRAnakorn", "pom prap sattru phai" will read "pom prap sattru PAI". also "Th" is not pronounce "Th" but "T".

3:25 - All most all foreigners are not aware of this, but you also have the option of using your 'VISA' or 'Mastercard' as payment for any lines of the MRT system. No need for cash, nor to get in line for the token (ticket). Just make sure your card supports EMV (contactless payment) and tap it on the reader at the top of your right-side turnstile gate (look for the EMV symbol) on your way into and out of the system. Please note that some stations (ex. on the Pink Line) may only have 1 EMV reader placed next to the ticket office, not on the turnstiles.
However, EMV contactless payment is not available in the BTS Sky Train System. You need to buy a ticket per trip from the machine, or get a stored-value card (Rabbit) from the ticket office, which you can pay with your credit card.
Even the city-operated buses (not the private-run ones) in Bangkok accept credit card payment on board. It's OK to just ask the bus conductor first if you can pay the fare with your credit card.

Wow. Other than a few strange pronunciations (is this AI?) you nailed it and fast. ALL RUclipsrs could learn a thing or two about editing from this. No long boring bla bla bla and average camera work. And I don't really want to see your face on a video. Just the facts please. I have transited through BKK 50 times and stayed in it for three or more days 35 times - ish. That's starting in 1993 and MUCH has changed in the way of transport. It was dizzying last time I was there in 2024 to try and figure out the transit options to get to the Coldplay concert but this video nails the systems with easy to understand graphics. BKK has done an amazing job and once the highway to Hua Hin and points south is done one could do a video like this on freeways (though it would really only benefit those of us driving there so probably won't happen). The freeway system (above ground) is somewhat amazing as well. Bang on Tim. I have subscribed. I can forward this to all my friends coming in. One note however....I travel with enough bags to pass on the rail line into the city, still preferring to go to ground level and take a taxi directly to my destination. On this we can disagree. Try going down the from platform level with your bags to street level and then getting a taxi to your final destination. The taxi from the airport (with required 50 baht extra) and tollways is still under 400 baht to the centre. So....why bother if you have bags? Make sure you go outside and go through the line to get a taxi ticket. DO NOT get befuddled into an airport limo taxi service after getting your bags. Those are $$$. I know- you're tired and it's confusing but just get out into the main area and down to ground level and out the door where you will find taxi queues at each end with a ticket person in a booth.Tell them your destination and they assign a driver to you. Take the tollways when asked, pay the tolls and stay above ground. Direct to your hotel door. Do not get taken to ANY shops or stops along the way and demand the meter gets started. If you are obviously new this might be tried. Otherwise you could take that airport line, get off at the end or sooner and go down to street level and hail a taxi but you might find that by the time you get to your hotel you had wished you had gone direct from the airport.

    1. Mentioned here is only the metropolis Bangkok. The actual Bangkok Metropolitan area is 7,700 km2 (3,000 sq mi).
    2. Sitting just to the north of Chao Phraya river's delta. Bangkok seashore doesn't appear as a beach, but it is a mangrove mudflat instead.

Lol it is magnificent, have you been here to America? If we’ll traveled probably New York at least. One writes WELL and autocorrect strikes🤨🤦‍♀️. Thank you for an excellent itinerary! I lived in a resort town with trails and hiking and used to guide customers from my resort for free. Was going to turn it into a business, and life happened. My first priority was like yours-get them UP high so they can see where they are and how to navigate. Should be a priority. Thank you just subbed! Being American I love your voice too🙏🏻❤️🌟
