If you use Oath of Murder and the fighter is then resurrected, it does not negate the oath; The reasoning being that you get the oathed status 'after the fighter is taken down' so the change to favoured applies on the take down and doesnt care what happens to the fighter after. If it read something like 'as long as that fighter is taken down' or 'if that fighter is taken down' then a resurrect would reverse the ability.

Sure, I can help with that right now :) What you are looking for is the targeting rules for an attack; to target something with a ranged attack action you need to be in range and have visibility - for that you need to be able to draw a straight line from ANY part of your fighter to ANY part of the opposing fighter. In your example, as long as the Rat Ogre has visibility (either over, through or around the enemy fighter, maybe through its legs for example), it can shoot. Note also that you only get the benefits of cover from intervening obstacles and not fighters, so the Kroxigor won't get the +1T

Visibility: warcrier.net/docs/rules/#visibility Specifically: 1. Pick 1 of the fighter's weapons to be used and pick 1 visible enemy fighter within range to be the target of the attack action. 2. ***If you are unsure whether a fighter is visible, stoop down behind the fighter making the attack action or using the ability to see if any part of the target fighter is visible from any part of the fighter making the attack action.*** The reason it works like this is to avoid situations where you can hide an entire warband behind something like a Monster base.

Gloomspite are weird - i think Mollog and Snirk are both very good - Snirk is especially good if you keep him with a babysitter for backstabbing mob - remember you can run gobbapalooza without losing the battle trait - remember that the battle trait will do nothing most of the time - try to take as few Stabbas as your points will allow 😅

Oh sure; so Wildercorp in general basically have the hunters of huanchi issue where one fighter (trailblazer with twin crossbow) is flat out better then all of the other options for its points. So the S-Tier version of them is basically a leader plus as many twin crossbow trailblazers as you can fit (i think 8 iirc); It's non-interactive and pretty boring to play as you are just rolling handfulls of dice looking for crits every turn. Wildercorps themselves do have some pretty interesting builds if you limit yourself to 3-4 trailblazers (basically all you can convert using the crossbows in the box), an arbalester, dog leader, and a bunch of dogs. Scouts are also not terrible if you build them with axes. You can also go 3x dog lord and max out on dogs for a 15 fighter list that solely does damage through the ability 'kill' but i find that almost as boring to play against as the crossbow build.

Yep it still is. As part of my video on rotation, I talked about how I think that because the mini basically doesn't exist anymore and has been replaced by the aggradons, GW should have gotten rid of it in the seraphon compendium.

As a follow up for the veritant, even if you don't turn an ability off, it makes things like beast flayers sound the hunt not nearly as useful. So even if you don't have a guy in range your impacting plans.

I actually had this conversation the other day; For a bespoke only environment you have a bunch of options that arent't really any more balanced then just playing with the normal listbuilding rules; 1. One box bespoke warbands only. 2. Bespoke factions only, no allies. 3. Bespoke factions only, with allies. The problem with all of these is that there are clear winners in each category; Vulkyn Flameseekers and Kruleboyz Monsta-killaz outright win option 1 because they have the strongest bespoke boxes in the game, and Questor Soulsworn/Iron Golems become gatekeepers (especially in an environment where you allow battle traits also in the case of QS, and in general play, basically no warband has the tools to take down the Ogre Breacher). Option 2 unlocks lists that can outright win in a full comp environment due to playing in a way that is very hard to counter even in a competetive matched play environment; Examples include 15x man Tarantulos Brood, 9x Crossbow Trailblazers, etc. Option 3 Doesn't really change all that much from Option 2 but KMK get to also run a Clawback, and all chaos factions get access to the trueblood for nets, or the Slaughterborn with great axe for actual damage. Options 2 and 3 opens the door to double flamehurler aswell which despite taking points hits, is still very difficult for a standard bespoke environment to deal with. in an option2/3 environment, 9x trailblazer crossbows (which is one of the best lists in the game period) would be likely to take it every time barring maybe KMK Clawback soup. Ultimately, whilst the bands are narrower between the top and bottom warbands, out of the 28 bespokes, 4x of them out of the box put down lists that are flat out better then the rest, maybe a half dozen have serious mechanical issues (Claws of Karanak for example) and the rest are split depending on the mission type so a bespoke only format isn't really anymore balanced then any other playstyle.

It's a hangover from Warcry 1.0 when everyone had that 1/4 damage profile; Skink blowpipe spam was kinda busted back then because they could just sit back and crit fish. That being said, after the points updates, I do think that there is a place for 60 point chameleons with blowpipes. They are very cheap, very fast and still have the reaction to improve their longevity.

@@OffMetaMusings Ogor Breacher is a problem! But in our games it would be accepted if the player is not the best of us or from time to time. We would prefer duplicatas of smaller models than a bigg one with 30 wounds and 5 toughness..

I've been thinking about a system where you draw from several decks to generate balanced matched play battleplans (40k had a similar system a long time ago); but it would be alot of work for me to actually figure out XD
