We think that Twistweald definitely have some good builds in there but they have the advantage of being in order with all of the action cheating and additional mechanics that they unlock through the ally pool. Darkoath have solid fighters with solid stats but otherwise cant really do anything that other warbands can do at a similar price point.
Yeah their placement is plain wrong and im sad they did not discuss the trait at all, it is really fun and powerful, imo. Not broken or anything, but solid C/low B imo
Thank you for the excellent content! I'm just getting into Warcry and was wondering if you could expand on your comments on the Wildercorp Hunters? Could you give an example of their A list that everyone plays vs the potential S list? Thanks!
Oh sure; so Wildercorp in general basically have the hunters of huanchi issue where one fighter (trailblazer with twin crossbow) is flat out better then all of the other options for its points. So the S-Tier version of them is basically a leader plus as many twin crossbow trailblazers as you can fit (i think 8 iirc); It's non-interactive and pretty boring to play as you are just rolling handfulls of dice looking for crits every turn. Wildercorps themselves do have some pretty interesting builds if you limit yourself to 3-4 trailblazers (basically all you can convert using the crossbows in the box), an arbalester, dog leader, and a bunch of dogs. Scouts are also not terrible if you build them with axes. You can also go 3x dog lord and max out on dogs for a 15 fighter list that solely does damage through the ability 'kill' but i find that almost as boring to play against as the crossbow build.
I did one for all of the bespoke warbands a few weeks ago but looking at all of the factions could be something that i can do; The problem is that some of these warbands we are talking about, just by sheer model range of their parent AoS faction are way better then others so might not reflect how they actually play in a full listbuilding environment.
Hello I am brand new to Warcry. I was trying to track what you were talking about with the Reclusian and Gryph-crows and also taking a Questor and Annihilator prime. Could you post a specific comp you were referring to that works? Just trying to figure out how many bird dogs and Reclusians you take to make it work.
Sure :) I did a video on Reclusians and the Ruination Chamber here which is probably worth checking out where I take a look at listbuilding for them also; ruclips.net/video/93b9KBszBNE/видео.html You have a whole bunch of options with the Ruination Chamber. The build i was talking about is a pretty silly hypothetical QS w. Grandhammer, Annih Prime, Lord Veritant, 7x Crow Build (not that I think it's good, rather an example of what's possible). If you wanted to go down that route specifically I don't even think you need the Prime in there thanks to the Reclusian Prime or Lord Terminos which are pretty good equivalents. It's most likely that you wont ever need more then 3-4 crows for most builds and I'm thinking 2-3 actual Reclusians if you wanted to bring them (most of my lists have 2.
Thanks for the video! Heard you talking about lightning guys in CoS:CH. Do you build like this with all 5 or drop 1/2/3 of them for other CoS fighters? 1 000pts | 9 fighters - Fusil-Major on Ogor Warhulk (245pts, Hero) - Pater Filius (150pts, Hero) - Friar Galvic (140pts) - Soror Tazat (105pts) - Acolyte Arcus (95pts) - Scorched Yakob (85pts) - Freeguild Steelhelm (60pts) - Freeguild Steelhelm (60pts) - Freeguild Steelhelm (60pts)
Funny you should mention that; Toast took something really similar in an episode of wheelcry where he goes over all the electric boys; ruclips.net/video/mWkT9n0gS_s/видео.html It seemed very strong to me so I urge you to check it out :)
The STD Underworlds teleporters actually got pointsdrops. Granted Khagra only -5 pts, and the wizards. But the grunts got - 15 and -30 pts! Maybe have to look at them now!
@@OffMetaMusings Hmmm, after a look I'd say they are ok pointed now, Kharga herself is a bit expensive still at 195 and the rest are based on chaoswarriors with + 1 wound. So not the best archetypes. But the teleport, which is the only good ability yhey have, might have some fun play.

i can try to talk about Fyreslayers to be at least in between C and B, for them, yeah the attack power isn't that good but thats why allies are important for them, give them some Anni Prime or Akhelian King, they will do better. they are good in having a lot of tough fyreslayers bodies to go through, and a +1 strength to Doomseeker can help.
Joking aside, I think that they are fine. It's just that they don't really do anything better then other warbands so from a strictly 'build the best list' perspective they are fairly bland imo.
It's mainly a Slaughterpriest with axe, a choppy guy like vexmor and then you load out with bloodreavers. The list is mainly playing swarm with some minor movement tricks but bloodreavers are so cheap you put a 10+ fighter warband on the table with a bunch of toys
It's a leader and as many twin crossbow Trailblazers as you can take; basically sit at 8" and double tap everything until it dies. Real boring but VERY strong
Savagers boring? Not beating the hate Savagers accusation 🤣 Not hugely wrong though they're the best "solid lads" chaos imo bc they have their dice fun
I like Tier Lists, but not my personal favorite. I prefer Faction focus/builds. And hardly anyone covers Campaigns? This is where the Narrative stuff truly is, what Warcry is heralded for, or so I hear. Campaign building is different than regular 1 off battle builds. For starters, you can bring Only 1 Hero (your leader). Makes for a different build. I know campaign isn’t competitive, but it’s fun. Maybe it’s not that popular and not much focus on it??
Personally, I don't cover any campaign or narrative stuff because I haven't actually played any :/ though from a pure numbers standpoint, more casual stuff seems to do worse then comp content, at least for me anyway.

@@OffMetaMusings Your welcome!
17:05 It's worth mentioning you can only do this once per battle.
I've played with Twistweald and original Darkoath and they definitely don't feel like they're the same tier. The Darkoath feel far, far, stronger

@OffMetaMusings ah, I've only played them out of the box, same as Darkoath.
Bone Splittaz can hang with most of the C-tier warbands and their battle trait is busted.
Yeah their placement is plain wrong and im sad they did not discuss the trait at all, it is really fun and powerful, imo. Not broken or anything, but solid C/low B imo
63 warbands now?! Man, owning 33 of them is no longer impressive....
Technically 66-67 if you take all the Stormcast Factions into account XD1

Do you have any plans on doing a tier list purely for in faction without the perspective of who you can ally in to make them good?
