    Ha.. Yes, the suspension is way too stiff on the Panther -- it ruins the off road ride and vibrates the front end steampunk suspension loose. I spoke with Okai tech who told me he rode the original prototype Panther and it had soft suspension, was great. He doesn't understand why they changed -- an engineering mistake. Change out the bad Okai spring shocks to DVI Topaz air (on sale) so 3 shocks is still cheap enough to warrant the trouble (Okai tell us what size / spec will work!). Note that mine had a charging issue (would only charge up to 85% but Okai hooked me up with a new battery and charger via warranty (thank you). I changed out the brake pads, font and rear to resin ORGANIC pads.. now it's totally quiet. Forget Metallic or Ceramic.. they suck on this scooter / Nutt calipers. I really like my Panther but have now resigned myself to VERY MILD off road (like soft smooth sand or dark brown smooth hardpack) and pavement. Anything with rocks, like Iggy says.. is no fun. It's a big bummer because Okai is sitting on something that could be great, it is so close.... but the suspension needs help and there is no easy remedy.

    • @QuantiQualification
      @QuantiQualification 6 дней назад

    Purely based off of looking at the design and fitment of the stock vs the injen intake, the stock looks like more of a cold air intake than the injen so your results don’t surprise me much. Sounds cool tho

    • @QuantiQualification
      @QuantiQualification Месяц назад

      You are right. The stock box pulls from outside air while the Injen pulls from mostly the engine compartment although it does sit pretty low. The smoother flow may make some difference, however. I am hoping it is just the ecm/ecu not adjusted to the new intake to account for the roughly 5% loss but it could entirely be the design too. Hard to imagine it could cause that much negative change though. I would guess that they probably ran their intake with the hood open to allow more cool air to get in.

    Your driving on a road at different times and different external and engine temperatures. When they do the tests the do it on a dyno with cold air blasting in from the front to get the best times. If you done this in the day with hot temperatures try in in the evening or morning when its colder, your results will vary

    • @QuantiQualification
      @QuantiQualification Месяц назад

      Same day, same road, same start location, 30 minutes between runs with and without intake. Granted engine temps may have been slightly different, but it was at op temp both times with fan regulating coolant temps. It's probably the best one can do. Battery reset the time on the clock so it might look significantly different. Even dyno runs have variation in temps, as you can see recorded in Injen's test sheet. Injen's test had higher temps than when testing stock and still returned higher power. Now, back to the results. 0.7 seconds increase in time is significant. Overall, about a 5% drop in total power output over the test time. Injen claims around a 5% max INCREASE in power. So, all things being equal, we are talking about a 10% loss in power compared to Injen's claim. The best I can come up with is that the computer needs more time to optimize settings to give maximum output. When I retest, I will choose a day with similar temps, zero wind, and similar humidity to the original test day. I would love your thoughts on this.

    • @QuantiQualification
      @QuantiQualification Месяц назад

      Great points. The battery was at around 76% when I pulled it. I subsequently fully charged it when it failed to start up. I did check the main terminals with a Voltmeter and it read a strange 3 Volts. I think it may be related to a safety mechanism to prevent starting a fire if shorted since it is removable and comes to full voltage once connected. It could be just a dead battery as well which would be very sad since the battery is almost new. I have not messed with the electronics of the scooter such as the start button etc. at this time.

    • @j4zzx297
      @j4zzx297 Месяц назад

      You would expect it to have a online fuse to protect the controller from power surges. That would normally be on a cable under a cover going from the battery connector, to the board or motor (battery removed). Not sure how confident you would be opening that up to check if it has one, to see if it's blown. You would need to be careful when touching anything with power still in it.

      I am working with the manufacturer to see if they will be able to resolve it/or willing to help me. If that fails, I will dig into the electronics. I will probably put out a video if I do so, in case anybody wants to see what is inside. Any thought on the 3V reading from the battery main terminals? I was expecting around 60V!

    Just picked up a 2007 with 217K miles. Good condition overall, one small crack on the engine compartment fender. All fluids recently changed, newer tires, suspension redone. Paid $12800 for it so fair deal II feel. Thanks for this video.

    with everything included in the swisstool i'd stick with that brand and model

      The Swisstool appears to be better made and has better tools stock on board. That being said, the major drawback is the difficulty in getting the tools out with the thumb nicks for me. Once they solve that, the Swisstool and variants may be unstoppable.

    I heard they did upgrade the cutters. Keep in mind, your model could have been one from the first batch, that's just sat on the shelves for 8 months from the reseller you bought it from.

      I bought it from a Bass Pro shop. They had just got this one in. However, I suppose it is possible that they received it from a warehouse from slightly older stock. That being said, these are sold out pretty quick, so I am not sure how much older stock there is out there. I think they have gone through stock that had a bad heat treat, but the design has remained, I believe.

    I have the XM4 and a pretty loud bike, tried my Somy’s yesterday first time with my C3 Pro and they were pretty decent, wind noise is still annoying. I also use a balaclava that stops the helmet pulling them out when putting on or off so recommend that. Am gona look at the Apple ones next to see if it helps any better. Any more updates on this now its 2024?

      A baklava is a great idea! I have not had a chance to do an update yet. It doesn't seem to be too many new releases yet. Hoping Samsung releases something new this year.
